    Please post a video of you working this material and going over damage control and thinning. Super Impressive. It’s very similar to salton sea obsidian which I’ve made some smaller pieces out of but nothing this big and this thin.

    Looks to me like what might be considered a ceremonial piece , by the ancients !!!

    I know where to get some larger pieces in a road cut on glass road.

      @@hansenator5000 that could be it. It's been allot of years since I've been over there. When I was younger, I would go turkey hunting on some property over there that belonged to my neighbors mother. I would go and collect obsidian for our aquarium shop. I didn't start knapping until 2 1/2 years ago. We would sell the obsidian for people to put in their fish tanks. I did try knapping some of it, but I was just learning and it was very tough fir me to Knapp. I have a childhood friend that lives in Paradise and we go to Glass Buttes to collect obsidian. Much better quality rock.

    I would love to see a video of you working this material, it looks extremely similar to some local rock I have seen. I've made a couple nice points and blades but nothing as thin and large as yours. Any tips for working rough material like this?l

    The ash pockets dont help any in fine work. Im in Fairfield, where do you live.
