Sadly, if a guy holds a door open for a lady, which my Grandma taught me to do at a young age, some get offended.
For the most part i get thank yous, and nods. Now and then I get someone who gets butthurt as if I'm questioning their abilities. At Target I opened a door for a lady coming out with a few bags, she saw me, then opened the door next to it to walk out. The greatest moment was she dropped one of the bags, and looked at me as if I made her do it. I smiled at her, and walked in.
Its just basic respect, not a challenge to your being your own woman.

Like, yeah, spilling oil isn't a major problem, if you fix it. But they spilled _so much_ fucking oil it's unbelievable, and they just, you know, didn't fix it 😂🤦🏻♂️
Big mistakes like that aren't always on purpose, incompetence knows no bounds, but at a certain point you have to wonder if they are just extremely careless in the clean-up, or if they intentionally don't give a f, as they seemed to be fine with the spill, and only worried about reputational damage...
This is just pure speculation from me though, I obviously don't have inside information!

Yeah deep water horizon is based on a true story. It occurred on April 20,2010 a little before midnight. The rigs drill was leaking mud because of the insane pressure it was holding. To be exact it was holding 15,000 PSI which is enough to cut a car in half 15 times. The mud came exploding out of the drill and eventually stopped but all of the particles of the mud got mixed with the air and it went into a gas filter on the rig. The rig ended up blowing up as a result, 11 men died that day. The blowout lasted for 86 days and released more than 250,000,000 Gallons of toxic gas into the atmosphere. To make things worse the tragedy could have been prevented if BP Oil would have just spent $125K on maintenance for the rig, and they were a $166 billion company at the time. I would recommend to watch the movie it is amazing and personally my favourite movie Mark Wahlberg has been apart of.

when you were talking about chivalry it reminded me of the time I went to work Construction in Hawaii and was taking the bus. id just worked 10 hours and sat down for the first time that day. A lady got on the bus and immediately started telling me that I should stand up and give someone else my seat. the funny thing is I already thought about that but decided against it because I didn't want to make her think I thought she couldn't handle standing.

Yeah, I grew up in southern Louisiana when a lot of people came to work on offshore rigs 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off. It was tough stuff with lots of injuries and deaths. Those guys know that that kind of explosion and fire could happen at any time -- it's more like *when* will it happen. Things are safer today, esp on the drilling platforms.
FYI: The Deepwater Horizon film is based on a real story. The family members of the survivors were a little upset that Hollywood decided to do a movie on it.

9:02 - What many women don't understand is the many men (like myself) do it coz we are polite. Many times dudes hold/open the door for me and a fucking apreciate it. I did it for women and also for men. Maybe at the begining I started doing it to be a gentelman but then I realise I feel good about doing something nice for other people so at some point I started doing it for other people just as much as I did it coz I like it.
So, when I hold the door and a person (woman or a man) don't apreciate it - i feel quite frustrated - it's like they take it for granted that you are polite. I ALWAYS thank the person (man or a woman - yes women also held the door for me and it feels good to be cared) who is polite.
Coz people do it out of their good will and it is not granted.
I am pretty sure that 99.99 % of the men hold the door for the above reasons. And only 0.01 % probably do it coz they (the men) think they are better - which is total bullshit, but hey - bit shitty world, all kinds of freaks exist.
