Jimmy Fortune brought something very special to the Statler Brothers. He brought a new sound to the group that was still Statler. Lew DeWitt picked a worthy, wonderful successor!
I faithfully watched The Statler Brothers when they were on TV weekly, I think it was Saturday nights, but not sure. I miss seeing them but things change and we all get older!
Im 25 and have been listening to them since i was very young your not only one old country music is all i listen to your not alone. Good taste in music
Had a friend who died at age 92. Was in great health and a ball of energy. We were talking about getting older once and he told me that he didn't feel old, his mind still worked the same. He said the only problem was "when I get up in the morning and go to brush my teeth, I look in the mirror and ask who is that SOB."
What a shame i didnt recognized them earlier, i really really love them, although all of my friends are listining to pop/house and charts. These boys are the best, right after Johnny -The Master- Cash!
Phil should have sang lead more often. Although can't complain about Don. I just always thought Phil should have had more chances, he really had a great singing talent.
Where can I get a live video version of "Susan, when she tried," recorded "The Statler Brothers" in 1992 (or 1982) with vocal and instrumental ensemble (no orchestra!).

I have a question. In 1975 i heard a statler bros song called one more summer in Virginia...only once. I can't find it anywhere online or otherwise. Bein from Virginia, i would love to has a copy of it. Why did that great song totally vanity from their playlist?

OK< tired of hearing the White Men's nostalgia. Try being a woman or a person of colour. No nostalgia there. It was horrible for us during the old times ~~and the modern times.
