You’re right! I was just saying relatively speaking, some of the button layout is a bit less ergonomic than even previous gen Audi’s... to be fair I forgot that you can switch tracks as well on these newer Audi wheels... didn’t have that on my old 2016 model ☹️🤦🏻♂️
Just got a Q3 after 6 years in a GTI. For my needs, looking for awd, more space and safety feature it’s good. But I have to agree with you about the driving dynamics. Best way to describe it is firm but floaty if that make any sense.
@Reonic, Nice Informative Video but you did not talk much about the cargo space, how much space does it have when compared to Q5 and other compact SUV in same price range like Rogue and CRV. is it worth buying Q3 over Rogue/CRV/RAV4 when all these comes in almost same price range between 33k-38k.
I’ve ordered a top of the line Q3 ($48,315) but now I’m wondering if I won’t be better off spending $5k more to get a Q5 with a better transmission, more power, and a quieter ride. I don’t need more cargo space.
Depends on what "better" means to you... If better is the driving experience, then they're comparable, and I actually prefer the Tiguan due to the slightly longer wheelbase and thus more solid feel. If better means better use of materials (fit & finish) and driving a car with a luxury make on the hood... well then that's the Q3
Great review!! Other benefits over the X1 -- standard sun/moonroof, takes regular gas vs premium. My last four cars were X3 (2008-2011) - loved! Audi A3 hatchback (2011-2014 - discontinued) -- ok but too small, felt like a clown car, followed by an X1 (2014-2017) loved! followed by an A3 sedan (2017-2020) -- too small but needed it for a small garage. Now I don't know what do to do! Q3? X1? X3? Volvo XC40? I want to stay around 35-37K.
Thank you! I have your answer, and it’s the car from my latest video 😎😎 In all seriousness, the XC40 would be my answer amongst that company of cars and considering your budget... check my review on it out !! :)
@@Reoniz Thanks so much for the speedy response! I will definitely read your review of the XC40 and check it out. Wish they still made the V40 circa 2017 -- cute car.
Well 40 grand puts you at the top of the Tiguan range, and in an mid equipped Q3. There's no doubt that the Audi is more luxurious, and that the Tiguan is larger. I think a test drive of each will give you the answer you're looking for!
@@Reoniz Thank you. I drove the Tiguan, I like that it is pretty well equipped in trims sel and above, but like everyone says, felt maybe a bit underpowered. Do you think using premium gas in the tig makes the performance better? Will drive the Audi soon, thanks again. Liked all your reviews.

Another excellent job Reo! You seem really credible. I think you give strong opinions and valid advice. When you talk about this Q3 not feeling sure footed and you said it was “lanky” despite being on the good MQB platform like the Tiguan, does the FWB Tiguan feel more sure footed than this? Or does the Tiguan feel just as questionable as this car? Hope that makes sense. I don’t want to assume the Tiguan doesn’t ride that great if it shares the same platform.
Appreciate it brotha! It’s true that the Tiguan and Q3 share a similar MQB platform, but there are still certain differences. I think the Tiguans slightly longer wheelbase, and more docile power plant leave it not feeling as unsure of itself as the Q3 did. Part of it may also be expectations of a $40k~ Audi vs a $27k~ VW
@@Reoniz thank you Reo! I appreciate you taking time to answer. I agree. I own a Tiguan for awhile and to me it drives pretty secure and stable. It’s the FWD option. Ya so you can definitely make the steering a bit heavier using the Audi Drive Select... but it still lacks any feel and understeers like crazy I do prefer that heavier steering of Dynamic mode to the light steering in Comfort 👍
I'll add, traded in our '17 Q5 for a '21 Q3 now that the kids are off to college. Wife wanted something smaller. Love the new touchscreen tech over the old stuff.
Sure... I've had an Audi in the past myself, and this is true, but it's still poorly placed for driver access. And I'm very happy to hear you like Audi's new MMI! The old system, same one I myself had, was unpleasant to interact with, and this new touchscreen MMI has been a very welcome improvement 😎👍
If you are 6ft”2 and the driver the passenger behind you won’t have much room it’s a lovely car but unfortunately that’s why I didn’t get this car because my oldest boy is almost 6ft and he wasn’t comfortable in the back.

I thought the same about the far-away volumn controller, but that's designed for the front passenger. The driver controls it on the steering wheel.

it’s extremely high performance with respect to carrying your children to kumon and transporting groceries
