if ur using soil from outside, bake it first to sanitize, then add when cool. id reccomend 5gal per snail so 10gal for two, this is giving them abundance, stop glorifying the bare/under minium. they also need at least 2 inches or soil/substrate.
@@kk-ache-ing my sons want a pet snail, we plan on getting one from outside. How do I bake the soil correctly? Heat/time, I just put it on a pan? Thank you for helping!
Yes it does as long as you spray your snails more frequently than usual because it won’t keep humidity in as well but you can cover in some holes with plastic wrap and it should work great!
I loved your video! And I gust found a snail 🐌 outside my doormat 🚪 and I saw a bird 🐦 surcling around it so I grabbed it before the bird 🐦 could. It should have a lid as they could escape if it doesn’t, but make sure the lid has holes small enough that they cannot escape from. They need the holes for air! :)
Really depends on the size of the snails. A couple of typical medium-sized garden snails might be comfortable in a 5 gallon tank. For a very large snail like an African land snail, 10 gallons seems like the absolute minimum.
NO ROCKS! BAD IDEA! They will fall from the ceiling and * c r a c c *
Thanks for saying that because I was about to put rocks in it and I decided not to because of what you said
So thank you for telling us that 😊❤🎉
Yeha, I didn't want to put rocks in ither. I thought that the snail 🐌 wouldn't like it.
if you do want to put rocks you can cover them with moss bc if they fall they land on the moss
trust me moss is a literal life saver
THEY HAVE SHELL

they need a bed, like a covered terracotta pot, they need moss.

How did you take care of it? I just got mine and don't wanna mess up, and how to know if it's healthy or need a doctor?

Oh! And bake the stuff from outside
So I’m basing this off of what I read but if your getting a snail from a pet store I don’t recommend the soil outside
I hope to find a couple outside. Do you have snail?
You can bake the soil, it will kill all the insects and parasites
I also do this with leaves I find outside, my snail love the warm leaves 😌
Hello! I have a question... is a 5.5 gal tank okay for 5 baby snails?
No! Baby snails need small tank because they spend alot of energy on looking for food
@@bepeplia5086 so true tho
hi I have been trying to make a snail habitat for so long and I was wondering does it have to have a lid?
It should have a lid as they could escape if it doesn’t, but make sure the lid has holes small enough that they cannot escape from. They need the holes for air! :)
most people have a lid so they dont escape, but make sure it has air holes
they're going to escape if you don't have one! make sure you have air holes though
yes, they will escape and if they escape they can fall and break their shells
YES
i love snails 💕 How many should i put in a terrarium at once?
The rule is 1 per gallon
@@ferewoinibiadglgne2103 thanks
none, terrariums are small :/

@@mayafey2850 how many gallons, usually id do 5 per snail.
What kind of food should I put in my habitat for my snail?
carrots, no potatoes or cucumbers
no garlic or onions

Thank u so much! A friend surprised me with snails and I got inspiration from this vid

What if the snails eat their hiding spot/leaves
They will. Just add some more. Snails eat basically every plant
The mask lol

It’s probably going to mould

such a simple and cheap way to start!!! thank you!!
Yeha, simple...😏 It's not like I made it even better...

Looks good but where is their water source? Snails drink too!
Snails get there water every time you mist their cage having a water bowl isn’t a very good idea because they can drown!
