I am proud to say we have people like Thundercat, Steve Lacy, Kevin Parker, Mac DeMarco, Khruangbin, etc alive and making music today, and they will be our generations “classics”.
@@vincebl9899 Nah dude real music is making a comeback. Artists like that are getting recognized by some of the most well known artists today and by rappers and stuff and it’s becoming “cool” to like real music again.

I think that's what makes me so emotional listening to his albums. His work is a worldwind of humanity spinning on a LP in my living room- he's felt all the feels and it resonates with each of us.
This track is so SMOOTH. This one is a 9.5 out of 10. It takes 'cool' and drops it in the 'smooth'. It's got my favorite bassist, Thundercat, and 80's throwback, Steve Arrington and a member of one of my favorite groups (The Internet) Steve Lacy (so many Steve's!!!). I am enamored by the way Stephen Bruner (TCat) is paying homage to these greats (see the album "Drunk"). I can't wait for the album to drop. Got my pre-order ready to go.
I got a pic with Thundercat, Battlecat and myself while in Cali a few years ago before the Pensado Awards. I'm frame'n that bidch and hangin' it in every McDonalds.

Damn...my mind is blown Thundercat did a song with my elder cousin Steve Arrington of Slave...one of Dayton Ohio's finest...the Land of Funk is still represented...thank you Thundercat
I don’t think we fully understand the genius of this song. Even surface level, the notion of bringing the Legendary Steve Arrington, Multi-Faceted Steve Lacy, and Daring & Original Childish Gambino together to create this piece is unfathomably great. Then 1-of-his-kind Thundercat is present. Jeez. What a roster!
"just moved out the hood doesnt mean i'm doin good. I wanna post this on the gram but dont think i should, is it just me or am i paranoid? Gotta keep it on the low cause i been robbed before" too relatable
My favorite example of a song with a funky beat and rhythm and pretty darn depressing lyrics. "I'm just trying to live my life, I'm just trying to do whats right" when the world often times doesn't want/doesn't let you do the things you need to do, it sucks to be continually held in place by the society at large that dictates what we can or can't do based on how we look. Every time I listen to this song its like, I'm dancing, but I'm sad about it, too. Like this funkiness is only borne out of pain. I think that requires extra thanks to the people that can turn that pain into joyful music for others to jam to but also ponder upon.
This is nice💯Had to listen to it twice. My 24 yr old son got a picture with Thundercat either last year or the year before last. But I love the fact that this music is reminiscent of my youth mixed in with a feel of present time💥🔥🥰
