I did not want to study science/medicine like everyone wanted me to. I fought the decision and went into an arts college. My father and extended family treated me like a loser. I did summer jobs and paid for my bachelors and masters in India. And then I got a scholarship for a second masters in the UK. And then I got a fellowship for my PhD in the Univ of California. That shut my dad and family right up!
This murderer proved his father was right. If he was capable and strong he would have left home and become successful and proved his father wrong. But that takes guts and brains. This guy didn't have either.

obviously not justifying what he ended up doing but how do we know what he's personally been through? like I know some parents who are really fucked up and when you create a bias among your children from a young age it does affect them in many ways be it their self esteem, academic choices etc don't you think? this decision was obviously extreme though but i am just curious

On one hand this guy didn't like his family but on the other hand he was pissed bcoz his father was writing some property away to his sis, he could have taken people to court for that in a few years, shows his priorities...why kill the entire family? Still, bro could've just waited to take off his career instead of acting on impulse or should I say instead of planning to slit their throats, favoritism, and comparisons are a very unhealthy and toxic mode of parenting, especially when here the dad was shaming his child for becoming a boxer. RIP kavita and her parents. This is really heartbreaking.
As a 20 y/o, my parents have almost been successfull in jeopardising my life too by forcing a career choice down on me. I'm going to be 3 years behind in whatever i start now.
I still love my parents the most in the world tho. They could insult me and I'd still come back to them.
It was not the case with Arjun he was VERY deeply hurt to take that step. It's unfathomable how much hate you could have for your family to literally m***er them.
*I do not agree with people defending his actions*
Some people really said "you reap what you sow" really mf? He could've packed his bags and left. But he m****ered his family with no impunity effectively ruining his own life too.
I can't help but think how just decades ago, 90% of women and daughters were treated this way in their families. Not given share in property, not even considered worthy to be given much after thought. The dowry was to be handed to husband's family and they considered it theirs.
In my own family, none of my maasi's got to complete their under Grad. Not given share in property. Their brother's got all of it, all the encouragement and help in education.
Yet you don't hear of daughters m****ering their families because of ill treatment.
So not only is this the case of severe mental health issues but ALSO gross entitlement. Now he'll rot behind bars and say bye bye to his boxing career.

This is such a sad and shocking case. JUST HEAR ME OUT.. First of all, for PPL saying what the boy did is 100% wrong-violence is never the answer, no matter how bad things get. But at the same time, we can’t ignore why something like this even happened. It seems like he was under a lot of pressure, and had no healthy way to deal with it. If he had talked to someone or more better - thought of what to do about his current overall state and situation , things wouldn't have gotten this bad. (But let me explain why he was not able to do so)
On one hand, most importantly, the parents also missed the signs of what he was going through, instead just made it more worse as she explained in this vid like studies and his career and property stuff - they had to be supportve allowing him to share his struggles without fear of being judged or punished infront of frnds and stuff. It’s so important to listen and support instead of just haveing pressuring him to perform well in school or life.
Another huge issue here is THE EDUCATION SYSTEM. It’s honestly a big failure in so many ways. Schools focus so much on rote memorization of stuff that has little to no value in real life. Instead of teaching us how to handle stress, communicate better, or deal with real-life problems, they fill us with facts and theories that most people never even use. There’s no proper focus on emotional intelligence, mental health, or even basic life skills. This system pushes kids into a corner where they feel like grades are the only thing that matter, and that’s such a harmful mindset. Social stereotypes just make it worse, with everyone expecting kids to achieve impossible standards and judging them if they don’t.
If anyone out there is feeling stuck or overwhelmed like this guy had been, don’t keep it all inside and hold a grudge....There’s always a way out of tough situations that doesn’t involve hurting others or yourself. And as a society, we need to spread awareness about mental health and family communication. Cases like this shouldn’t just be news; they should push us to be kinder, more understanding, and more supportive of the people around us. We also need a better education system that actually prepares us for life and helps us grow as people. We need to learn the causes and make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.

Having a toxic family can be very traumatic. Favoritism and humiliation are very common in many Indian homes and parents and relatives openly display their preference to some children in the family and the other one feels neglected and struggles with low self-esteem. In fact, such children are also bullied and as a result, become easy victims of bullying in the outside world as well. The only thing you can do is study hard or try to find a way to become financially independent and then you can be your own master and live separately from your family. I faced some similar situations when growing up and was bullied very badly by the people in my family and right from childhood I knew that the only escape I had was to study and I did that to the best of my ability. Now I am middle-aged and live on my own with my pets. I live far away from my parents and relatives and it gives me so much peace. Don't sever your relations - just keep them on a long leash and maintain some semblance of relationship because you need people in life and the outside world can be more cruel than the family life you have known. For e.g. at least in this story the parents were not sexually exploiting him - if you become familiar with the kind of things that happen in this world then you will know that even if your parents/relatives are bad there are people much worse than them.

But at the same time if his claims are true then quite disgusting that parents would behave this way with their own child as well. Some might say why attack the innocent sister, it's possible if the parents did create such a toxic environment then the sister adopting such toxic behavior towards him is also possible.

One may be introvert and quiet from the outside but that is NO sign that everything is ok with that person. There may be "devils" lurking in his mind (whatever may be the reasons)!
