Bob and weir!!! He's gotta be the most daring front man to ever take stage!!! He's willing to take on any challenge!! Can you imagine mick jagger busting into El paso? Or Steven Tyler dropping a Maggie's farm? Most agree Dylan is on or near top of song writers chart yet not many would dare use most all of those songs in set, I think that's why watchtower is possibly the most covered number ever written, as it's one of very few of his pieces that glory can be found for front men!!! Knocking on heavsns door, Quinn the Eskimo, and a few others but for the most part this industry rolls out red carpet to draw attention to a library like no other , but that library is rarely tapped aside from bob who could fill up a fall tour with all the Dylan material he's put into play over the years!!! The Dylan classic, and in my opinion his most dominant work seems to offer as much glory to a frontman as any. Track ever recorded , "TANGLED UP IN BLUE" seens like a jackpot for a frontman to hit on the nose midset to pay homage to the guy they pay the most respect. Yet I don't think I've seen it used by anybody aside from the guy who stood just right of bob for 30years who also took on some of Dylans library but not nearly the depth bob was willing to dive into!!!
So while most all of them are quick to stand in front of Dylans library, bob was the only guy to stand in front society and use it!!! I wonder if hendrix though of releasing a studio version of desolation row instead of " WATCHTOWER"
