LIVE MATCH FISHING / A match of 2 halves / lake John Saturday open /

Day off and nothing in the diary so decided to jump on the open match at the brilliant Lake John Fishery in Waltham Abbey, Essex. Absolutely love this place the hospitality you receive at this place is second to none. A brilliant breakfast in the on site cafe and a very well run fishery makes it a tremendous place to visit. Drew peg 24 in the corner and went off like a train first thing managing to put 12 carp in the net in the first 2 hours . ALL OUT ! I wish it was as I am sure at that point I was winning the match. It all went downhill from there on In where I only managed a handful of skimmers and roach for the rest of the match. Ended up with 53lb for not great I think 80lb odd has won it needed 65lb for 3rd. I have definitely left some fish in the peg today and not really sure what went wrong going into hour 3. But there ya go I guess it goes like that sometimes. A great day. Great banter. And the weather turned out well in the end also. Defo beats working. Thanks goes out as always to Colmic uk match and bait tech for your continued support. Used to fish lake John a lot, never fished that match lake, as it was literally just dug out when I used to go there. The big lake was better known as lake blank, albeit I had some cracking skimmers tench and Carp on the pole
