- If you don't like the mechanical disc brakes on your e-bike you can switch them out just by switching the calipers and using hybrid hydraulic calipers. This is a cost-efficient way to upgrade your brake system.

I'm going to try it. Just ordered a set. Thanks for sharing this.
What bike are you putting them on?
@@scotthardesty
Snapcycle S1.
Just put these on my Ep2 pro, excellent, lot more stopping power and no annoying squeaks.
Let me know how long they last. Curious to see.
Would this work on the engwe l20 2.0 ? Only asking since I know you’ve reviewed that bike thanks in advance 🙂
It would.
Great vid. Super helpful to know what part to get
Glad it helped
Is this Barrington Illinois? Sure looks like it! 💯
I got the same brakes, & then added them to my other 2 e-Bikes after I seen what an improvement it was over mechanical brakes, & for $42 a set you can't beat it! 👍
This video was shot in Michiana, MI (close to New Buffalo, MI). It's definitely worth the upgrade for sure!
I also happen to be in the Upper Midwest, Racine Wisconsin.
So i looked these up and i asked the manufacturer if they would fit my luckeep folding ebike and they said yes. I just ordered a set.
Nice!
My mechanical breaks work amazing.I want to go to hydraulic because I don't want the drag.Do you have drag anyone? Can you answer that question
I noticed no drag with these.
@@scotthardesty thank you
Would this work for electric trikes as well? Thanks!
It should work any ebike with mechanical brakes... even trikes.
Anybody know if these will fit the Hiboy P6. Thanks
Maybe someone in the comments will know. I personally, do not.
You have to get the brake handle that's where the fluid goes, I don't understand
The fluid is in the calipers. Thats how these work. It is not a full hydraulic system.
Did you reuse the brake pads that were on the mechanical calipers ?
No. It comes with its own brake pads.
@@scotthardesty Thanks. That's helpful to know
The link ISN'T for Zoom hydraulic brakes?
No. I am also not talking about Zoom hydraulic brakes. The link is for the product I show in the video.
Will they work on a Aventon Since 2
They will work with any bike with mechanical brakes.
No pads for replaces available...
That is good to know. I don't have the bike anymore so I never needed to change the pads. Thanks for that info!
Do they last longer ?
I don't know. Just like with the mechanical ones, the brake pads would need to be replaced at some point.
Why don't eBikes use a re-generative braking system?
No brake pads to wear out and the battery gets a small re-charge every time that you brake.
Some companies have tried (like ENGWE) but it really doesn't produce enough energy to provide any real value to charging these batteries.
Are hydraulic brakes universal.my bike mechanics doesn’t have a clue
They are. As long as you are replacing mechanical brakes. If it has disc rotors, it should work.
@@scotthardestyTHANK U FREIND
These are still mechanical brakes with sort of a hydraulic cheat. They came on my bike and they suck. Went full hydraulic, 4 piston calipers and wow. Huge difference. No comparison to these XTechs.
Nothing beats full hydraulic (especially 4 piston) but also the cost is much higher. For those wanting to improve they brakes without going full hydraulic, these are a solid option.
He sounds like Jack Dalton from MacGyver
Oh lordy. hahahaha
Great body..
Thanks!
