I get doll clothes from many different places be it websites like ebay and etsy, to general doll websites, I also commission doll seamstresses and join preorders. I spend a lot of time looking for new places since there are always new people who open their own shop. But i think it is definitely worth all the time spent searching :)

what an excellent use for a fruit hanging basket! I bought a planter that is basically a wire frame chair, and it was adorable when my two year old tried sitting in it! but I like to have that for my Delilah Noir since I've found nothing else in her size...
Genuinely curious, I hope you do not take offense. These dolls are sooo expensive! I would really like one but I am afraid to spend all the money. So my question is, how do you afford these?! I am guessing it would be thousands of dollars a month. Do you find a place to get them cheaper? Or make them yourself?
Thousands of dollars a month? O__O No haha I can't afford buying dolls every month, I get one or two ball jointed doll per year. This is like any other hobby really, you save up for as long as it takes and then you invest in what you want :) Many people prefer instant gratification and don't have the patience to wait to save a larger sum and buy this kind of doll. It is definitely easier getting a $30 MonsterHigh every month than putting that money aside for many months and get a BJD. I got my first one when I was a university student and I put $50 bucks on the side every month. I had to sacrifice going out with friends for some time and I spent less money on makeup, clothes, drinks and going to the cinema, but to me it was worth it :) Then after quite a few months I purchased my first doll and then after a couple more months the doll was finally made and sent to me. In the end it took almost a year since I decided on a doll, saved up the money and had it delivered. Some people prefer investing their hard earned money on cars and houses and building a family, but others might have different priorities and life goals and use their money in other ways that makes them happy :D So just follow your heart and if you want a doll, all you need to do is to commit to it and do what it takes to get it. Obviously sometimes your circumstances are not favorable, similarly to when I first discovered BJDs and had no job, but if you really like something, you can eventually get it.

It amazes me that behind some of my favourite dolls is only one single artists that spent years making that doll. I can't even imagine the amount of time, money and effort that goes into it. So many times I wonder if those couple hundreds of dollars that I spend on a BJD is even enough to pay the artists back properly or if it ends up being a product of love without much revenue for the maker.
If you want a "starter" BJD company, go with Angel of dream or bobobie. They have 18 inch dolls for around $200 ish dollars. there is also a website that ships from the US and that website is junkyspot. com. Good prices, don't have to wait or pay as much for shipping from foreign contries (if you live in US) Also for clothes and stuff there are tutorials to make stuff, all over the internet. (including here)
I have a friend that sculpts the doll and then send it to another country to get cast in resin. His brand is called "Rowindoll" I believe it's only on facebook right now.
