i must say, the designs from Chinese brands are such a breathe of fresh air..makes cars from germany and japan seems old terms design with a few exceptions off course...tested a byd seal recently, came into showroom with a negative perception on ev's and cars from China but left very impressed..hence my first journey into the ev world might come soon but likely will go for the most affordable models plus LFP battery is a must..as a petrolhead i am kinda nervous hahaha
advantageous range. The models have not changed for decades. Chinese cars not only strive for quality but also for intelligence. Only by standing out from dozens of car manufacturers will they not be eliminated.
Exactly, Bobby. Exactly. I've been saying for 4 yrs, China cars have Arrived. With their v distinct styles. Many r still Clueless. $200k camrys?! Come on, man.
Fair point.. as someone who studies manufacturing technology, the confidence that a Camry gives in ‘no-nonsense just move the car rain or shine reliability’ is extremely hard to replicate.. but it seems cars are turning in micro ovens to be replaced every few years so times are changing..
I will still take 200k Carnry over a BYD Seal tbh. I don't like to spend a full dollar on anything that tells me I need to plan to drive and its meant for city driving. What a load of crap! Having said that I own a BYD seal btw haha! Since its my fourth car its just a new gadget toy for me. However to anyone buying for 1st or 2nd car trust me a petrol car will serve you better.
@@wlim6713 True! I owned Corolla 2019, but actually not as good as before toyota days, can see that quality looks cheap and aftersales for toyota is not doing good than before. Even other brands from other countries now have better quality than japan cars
@@EarthyLee sounds like you don’t really know anything about EVs. BYD has PHEVs that can go 1300+ real kilometres and for a first car, EVs are way better because 1) better software safety and usually things like AEB and self driving will be way better than a Toyota Camry. 2) way less issues and maintenance and BYD offers infinitely better warranties on top of that 3) you’ll just save a ton of money on the car, on the gas, on brakes, transmission breakdowns, fluids, radiators, all the gaskets and leaks, etc. If you actually plan to travel long distance all the time a PHEV is so much better than a gas car and planning a full EV’s charging is still better than just riding in an actually way worse and less comfortable vehicle the whole way. Get a Zeekr 7X and don’t have your family suffer having to stay in a Camry the entire way. They won’t complain at all with reclining back seats and a beautiful oled touch screen TV in the back with far better seats and materials. And for 99% of the times you use it, you won’t be sniffing gas fumes, paying for gas all the time, and needing to go to gas stations to waste your time because you just charge at home. The rare inconvenience long distance planning is way overshadowed by never having to actually go to a gas station in the city.
The Chinese car makers will throw in whatever tech they have at their disposal while the old school car makers will milk you with a little new tech at a time over 10, 15 years in the form of "upgrades" or "all new models". The Chinese are just shaking up the traditional car makers. This is a paradigm shift and a wake up call for the soon to be obsolete car makers.
That’s not quite accurate, Geely is the parent brand of which Volvo, Polestar, Zeekr, Smart and Lynk and Co. and others are a part of. Volvo isn’t a new company like Zeekr, which was recently started and has been using cars that was designed for Lynk and Co.. Each have their own designers and engineers but, they do share vehicle platforms.
Fair point, its only for those who have spare cash and willing to forego these dollars and try new gadgets. It's not a core requirement yet, it's a "nice to have". I generally don't get excited with new lauches of EVs (even though I have a BYD Seal from launch) as they price themselves more then ICEs (at least in Malaysia it's like that). It doesn't make any sense when they tell you it's meant for city drive and then charge you a premium over ICEs. In my opinion if someone tells you it's meant for city drive only, they should charge half price or close to it, just like in China.
Actually better than Japan car, got Corolla 2019 as owner, definitely can't beat not only just china cars but also can't beat korea cars, european cars too where japan cars something lack off. Even Corolla 2019 quality looks cheap and aftersales for toyota is not good, which is not much better than before

Exactly what I felt two years ago. Now I have wuling air ev and byd seal performance (to replace my inline6 bmw) 😅

Damn....the interior quality even looks great by sight.
Breathe taking design just “WOW”
Interior in zeekr cars is another.. So luxury

@@EarthyLee I'm not an ev car fan myself. I'm talking bout Cn v Jp cars in general. For what ure getting for yr money, Jp cars r just overpriced.

zeekr X look gorgeous than EX30
Stefan Sielaff is the Zeekr designer, no wonder you said it beat Audi
That sharp edge is really dangerous !!
haha that lady in yellow waving at ur camera was awesome!
I prefer when the Italians and French pen their designs. Some China and Korean brands use European designers too.

I have a Tesla Model Y and the Tesla front doors also have sharp edges (like Zeekr) because they are frameless windows
money not an issue i just ordered one...got bored with alphard and vellfire
Bro which would you recommend based on driving feel, ex30 or zeekr x?
Should I purchase it?
Both Zeekr & Volvo are made by the same company Geely .

Rebadge for zeekr for proton?
polestar logo is painted same as the body colour
So much nicer than the volvo ex30
The price tag is RM240,000.00 lol
Really hope china ev is good quality
中国人的电动车技术能把美国吓得要收百分百的关税

I need the fridge to put ikan i buy from pasar
they want us to buy EV, so they take out the very best design they had in their folders. Is this an EV actually..?..because title not saying that.
Small car at the price.
I will wait and see. After 5 years then we will see the reliability and quality of this so called quality product from PRC.

Unpopular opinion: both of the cars are ugly.
Yup.. i don’t want to drive a fridge..
Yeah I was wondering why some people said it's nice looking, but that's why we have different wives! Haha!
Its the matter of affordability.
Not copying?🥴🥴🥴confident Chinese made?😱😱😱high quality? haha, try harder? Suggest try to stay as far as fried food 🙄🙄🙄
