Consider it like a musician performing in a public setting people stop and stare to appreciate the moment and enjoy the music. The performer also appreciates this and this is why they also have tip jars near by. They want your attention and so does this barefoot doctor. Drawing crowds is good for business. Think more deeply we have to many shallow headed individuals these day's. The world must move away for this sort of mentality your defending is making the world mess interesting and interconnected. Humanity needs moments shared together.

Thankyou for this video. I agree with your doctor we are fools if we reject TCM just because its paradigm doesn't fit with ours. I wish I had the energy do your education in Chinese language courses. Not being able to read and understand a language directly means I lose the nuances. Sadly I need to learn German first. But after that I will be back to learn Chinese

@@annakissed3226 traditional medicine itself isn't all scientific. There is some aspects which have been studied and which has since been proven to have positive effects through scientific study but, equally, there are a great many that have been proven to have no effect or a negative effect.
This is largely due to a phenomenon called the placebo effect. People are told it will make them feel better, they believe it, so they feel better. It does nothing to cure them or reverse the symptoms of whatever ails them.
Pangolin scales, for example, are believed to have a number of curative properties including the curing of infertility, circulatory problems, glandular problems in women etc...except it does none of these things. The scales are made of the same substance as human fingernails as are Rhino horns (used for a variety of conditions).
Just because people have used it for a long time does not mean it is genuinely helpful. Foxglove, belladonna, opiates and arsenic were all used in medicinal practises across a number of cultures. In the event you're not aware, all of these are poisonous. Shark fins, used in TCM, likewise generally contain so many toxins that they're close to being labelled unsafe to eat, have next to no nutritional value and don't taste of anything.
I agree to reject a study for its origins is folly, but to reject all logic and scientific advancement for no reasonable arguement is idiocy in the extreme.

I’ve gotten a massage in Hong Kong by an “expert masseuse”. Wasn’t cheap. I had bruises on my body that lasted for weeks. Marks on my body that lasted over a month. I took pictures of those bruises. You can feel each strand of muscle sore.
