Kirk was truly an amazing human being. The way he did the wooden leg for Scalawag was actually simpler than I initially thought it was, even though it must have been painful for him to have that one leg bent and kept that way for a long period of time shooting scenes. I don't know if anyone could have imagined after seeing this at the time that Kirk would end up surviving a stroke and actually make a good recovery from it in his older years and be able to continue acting.

It was the 70s man! If you were there you've seen it, if you weren't you would never understand 😄.
Seriously though, We had the hippies with flowers power, Tie Dye Clothing, love ins, communes, and all manner of things just be different than the establishment. BTW much of the anti establishment was justified.
Carson suit would have been very common then. Sort of a nod to the anti establishment radicals, without getting down into the weeds with them. It was a very politically charged era at the end of the Vietnam War and the Nixon debacle.....it was an amazing time to grow up in. I'll end with one the generation's most enduring symbols.

Got me by 4 years younger. It was quite ride. Looks like we may be growing old in the same atmosphere. Take care.

Having your leg wrapped tight and then shoved into a peg leg has got to be painful after just a few minutes, Kirk wore it out there putting on a nonchalant face way longer then he had to..
