I had a 2000 Layers farm up until around 2020 when i folded up becauee I was not present. The guy who worked for me had some very bad characters and he couldn't change. He checks almost all the points you talking about. I had to fold up because of him.

I usually trim the beak of my birds at the chick stage between second and third week. At this stage there is little loss of blood or bleeding that may occur. My reason is to prevent them from learning the wrongs that they can use the beak for and also prevent early death as a result of cannibalism. Just be extra careful when doing this at that early stage of the bird. (My take) 13:15
