  • Buying land isn't the best investment idea. Do this instead
It's often been recommended that people should buy land due to its scarcity. With this in mind, you need to understand the practicality of owning land and of running a land-based business venture. In this video I break it down for you how buying land can be a risky investment because it may not generate any income and may not generate a capital gain when the property is sold.

I my self am a living example, I'm doing a watchman job in the UAE at the beginning of 2023 i purchased a piece of land worth $ 4000 it's now 1 year down on the road. I'm not earning from it yet for the business in 1yr i can be able to expand, So land as the first investment can really stop 🛑 your Cashflow.

Cash is always king. HOWEVER I moved money from my savings account earning pittance in a US bank and parked it in the purchase of an acre of land in Africa…close to the airport. Every time you blink its value goes up. Five years from now I doubt I will be able to afford the same acre of land unless I win the lottery!

Some reacting emotionally and not reasonably. The talk does not say buying land is always a bad idea. But if that is your first money you get and you have no chances of getting money in the near future, starting a business on rented land or using your parent's land may be a good idea as to be assured of continued cash flow and later on you can keep on buying your own land. Buying land is almost always a good idea, but not always as the whole talk elaborates. Listen carefully from the beginning to the end .

There is something spirtually wrong about buying land. We must avoid investing too much of energies into any one thing. You loose balance in life. When you buy land it will take a lot of your attention that you could have used for other things. Land can even cause a lot conflicts in the family after you are gone.

This is pure truth, buying land depends on what you want to do with it. Those who buy land and leave it idle that's a dead capital. Nowadays this life need cash flow to grow and multiply your money. Have made a mistake as well investing on land, the money i spend on the land if I had invested on bonds would have doubled the amount in four years. The land haven't appreciate doubled of the amount i paid for it.

It exactly happened to me sometime back. I poured all my hard earned saved money into plots of land then after a little while I ran short of cash to solve a few major setbacks which proped up. I learned a hard lesson. Not to pour all but a little bit then stay with some bit of cash saved because cash is the king,it solves almost all issues coming up in life.

You are not land or real Estate specialists. One man bought 100 acres for 50M for 5 years later the land was sold at 800M now tell me was that money sleeping or making money passively daily in 5 years

I think you didn't understand his video. He's not saying don't buy land. He's saying we should consider certain factors before we do cause not all pieces of land will bring you money and that some will have to grow their money before buying land.
I've seen people who bought land and then sold it but still ended up broke in their old age.
In short, don't just wake up and buy land cause everyone is saying buy land.

with land u can never go wrong cause any business needs land to be set-up including farming. so there's no way that land is a bad idea ,that mentatlity has left many to die in rentals all their life cause they do n't have space to build on a business

How about if you buy the land and develop it and actually use the proceeds to contribute to reimburse the loan? Just thinking outside the box.

Awesome idea. But if you could develop it, highly unlikely that you'd opt for a loan yo finance it

In as much as you have a point same you dont look at it in from a long term investment level. Is it investment wise to take loan to buy land? Noooo!!! So ur heading really doesn't match all you saying. If you working getting salary it is wise to save to buy land. U talking about development, wil u buy land in an underdeveloped area and not farm on same land? Pple can buy lane even in develop area while still working and lease or rent it out to earn rental passive income. Once a strategy works for you doesn't mean that is d best strategy to generalised. We have pple who take loan with interest from bank to buy land n engaged in land flipping, buy and resell and they make fortunes out of it without owing the bank a dine, will those pple now come out and say taking loan from bank to buy land is the best?? Same Noooo!!! Everything is about individual passion and knowkege acquired to strategized!! Like me if i get loan from a bank i know land to buy to make good returns n pay bank back but not everyone can cos i have my own link of client already..We shld teach pple how to maximize and not handly all topic about finance..You into farming biz better you stick to that n enlightened people how they can make use of that one plot laying idle or the space left on a plot after building a house on it. I love your channel but we need learn from one another..Great job

This is context-dependent. If you want to farm short-term crops and when the price to buy land is too high to buy. But if you are farming long-term crops and if the price is $100 per acre, I would rather buy and own it to avoid future conflicts.
