I cringe when I go to the pet store and new rope toys and chew toys are on sale for 10, 20, even 25 dollars. I found this DIY t-shirt dog toy on Pinterest, and just had to try it. With the tails wagging, the results were in, and the toys have even survived several weeks with my two boys. I found two, really easy, versions of the t-shirt dog toy. Here's how to make them.

Thanks! I’ve made three octopus toys now 🐙🐙🐙 Our puppies love them. They like to bite the head and make their way to the corner to hide and play. They even snuggle up with it when they sleep 🥰 I don’t have tennis balls so I use what’s left of the shirt (chest part) and ball it up and put that in place of the ball. Works really well!

Cool tip! My new whippet puppy has a few toys, but her favourite by far is just a piece of cloth with knots tied in it!
I can't wait to give this to my new puppy! I I've been asking my mom for a puppy for around five years now and yesterday she came home from work and told me that we were going to be getting a puppy in about 2 weeks one of her co-workers had puppies and was trying to get rid of them we just have to wait because the puppies are still on their mother's milk I'm so excited to give this to him

I do this with shirts that are to stained or have to many flaws to be donated , and donate the toys to my local animal shelter
I once had a chain of roughly 2 feet of length and gave it to my dog.
3 days later I found that it snapped

*WARNING* TLDR Smart animals will ruin ALL YOUR CLOTHES.....
This s wonderfully awesome idea with a horribly I'll thought out side effect..... For anyone like me that has extremely CLEVER animals, I'm my case a sled team of Siberian Huskies (of which are my rescue Loki who was beaten into gear of making noise and we've spent a year teaching it's good to 'talk' started, no shit, 'singing' to "We Are The Champions"a few seconds after I started typing...., 17 ferrets, and a polydactyl car (8x8 toes up front, 7x7 rears) who already has separation anxiety (rescued in an alley a few months old, I was looking for a cool striped cat like I'd had as a kid, but really wanted one with spots that swirled, fell in love with this all black cat instantly online when I saw his big ole feet on the Humane Society website browsing and drive across Michigan for him. I also learned 70% of black cats donated will NEVER be adopted because people subconsciously are still afraid of black cats from that middle-aged nonsense but they were for witchcraft, jokes on humans since that was the biggest cause of the plague) so I would take him everywhere. He fell in love with his grampa and after his second weekend would wait at the door until I waited ready every Friday to walk out and jump in my passenger seat for the 2 hour drive and jump out meowing for him. Now he drags his, mine, occasionally random women here likes, clothes around the house meowing as loud as he can. With is it's always shirts. For some reason he steals women's panties.... Anyone?
But I digress. If you make a toy or of a shirt, the the shirt is a toy. It also smells like you, which is a great way to bond we all know. But this isn't a stuffed animal to cuddle our a blanket to use if he's lonely, tired, scared, etc. O M G it's a toy!!! I can rip this up!? Thank you Mommy/Daddy/dispenser of all life giving treats! But wait.... You have a drawer and a whole basket of toys!!? You're wearing one even!!!!????
Yeah..... That WAS your wardrobe.... And for anyone who says just shut your drawers and door. I've had one knock out an entire window and frame out of the side of the house to get out of the room on the roof because she didn't want to be alone in a room (I put her there so I could eat dinner in peace for 15 minutes since she was a needy rescue with no manners yet on day 2). Another one one day at the bottom ⅔ of 3 of your typical hollow core doors..... I thought my gf has been pissed and kicked in all my doors.... Nope, dog I guess needed dinner fiber. And with Huskies, they imitate everything they see. My first one thought she was a car for 6 months and would sleep with the cat on top of his 7 foot tower, play in it's holes and hideaways. Then we got here around a male dog who happened to be her dad and she saw him hump. Now my female will hump anytime she wants to "dominate" her playmate. Caught her sitting on a human bench outside like a human would cuz that's where I sat to drink a beer and be outside.... Dude, that's the antics of 4 animals. And it's spread through each community. All 9 dogs and the cat. Don't even get me started on the Best Of album of ferrets. There's a reason they're illegal in places, are used as working animals around the world, and the animal name is Latin for little thief... I'm not joking with you.
