In junior WWCs USA have failed to get out of group stage for the past decade except for a Mallory Pugh inspired bid in PNG 2016.
With technical nations toughening up & the USA having fallen behind technically for a long time this was an expected result for us neutrals.
My daughter plays in a kids club in the US and the lack of attention to technical details is appalling! I have to hire a personal coach who used to play in the UK for her to improve the fundamentals!

So many mistakes on the US defense. They have the talent but they lack soccer fundamentals. Shielding, playing simple, over dribbling, holding the ball too long. That first goal given to Japan was embarrassing and it says a lot about the player lacking fundamentals. The tactical development in US soccer is weak
