You should do one that has a front facing camera for parking foward !! I don’t have the sensors in front or a camera
I am actually trying to figure that out as we speak... 👍
The one in my high country works half the time, when it’s not working it shows a blue screen. Any idea what it could be?
@HectorHernandez-ix9kp sounds like it could be a connection issue or the camera, but don't quote me on that... is it still under warranty?
Do you know if these are the same part numbers for a 23 sierra pro? I see two different brake light/camera part numbers that say they work but I am unsure. Love the video by the way. Thanks for any info!
1st, thank you for watching!!!.. 2nd, there are 2 different brake light cams.... 1 with just the rear cam and the second with rear cam and bed cam, which i didn't need, which is what you probably see. My rearview mirror was off a 23 denali and fit perfectly!. Everything should fit you will need just a little research as yours is a sierra pro and mine a RST Silverado but shouldn't be that much different.
@@That-Silverado-Guy Thanks, the part number was different I believe for just the rear facing camera without the extra cargo one, but I’ll keep researching for sure. Appreciate it a lot!
@low2kchevy not a problem! Hope you find it soon cause this mirror is night and day!
You utilized the same plug to plug the light back in?
Yes, it's the same plug for the brakelight
So there’s no separate power cord needed for the brake light you just use the one that’s already on the truck?
@messiahvalera6774 The brake light is the same plug and play. All you need is to run a video chord to the rearview mirror
Man I can't find the mirror for cheaper than ~$650 right now searching google.
If I find one, I'll let you know....👍.. check ebay saw the mirror and third light with camera and chord for 699
On the video you said something about a jumper. Is that within the coax harness or something extra that’s needed? Also where did you get your mirror? The ones on eBay are crazy expensive. Mine is a 2024 LT Trail Boss. I’m hoping it will work my truck. Do you know of any reason it might not? Great videos , thank you!
@jeffreyscelzi3724 First of all, thank you for watching! I got my mirror on eBay and was able to get it for a good price, so just keep looking. If your mirror has power to it already from the auto dimming, then you are good, but mine didn't, so I needed a harness from Gen5diy to take power from the lane assist cam. It should work on your 2024. I don't see why not.
@@That-Silverado-Guy ok, so I would be in the same boat as you then. I don’t have an auto dimming mirror. I got everything else the truck can get out of the factory, but for some reason, the auto dimming mirror was not one of them. Go figure, Lol
@jeffreyscelzi3724 yup!! Guess we needed all the bells and whistles fir just an auto dimming mirror 🤷♂️
From a little research I did, it looks like my 2024 is pre wired for it. So I’m guessing the jumper wouldn’t be required. Sound about right to you?
@Excap935 some do come pre wired if you look but unfortunately mine didn't
The is for posting this. I’m trying to piece this set up together for my truck. Been wanting it since I bought the truck but didn’t want to pay 1k+
Keep this information going! Don’t stop and become a click bait TH-camr for gimmick upgrades. This is amazing! Please maybe do a step by step guide video?
No click, bait, here, man.... I do my best trying to do a step by step but definitely hard without someone holding the camera, so I am limited. If you need any instructions or help with any questions, feel free to DM me on my Instagram, and I can help. Thanks for watching 👍
@@That-Silverado-Guy infotainment has video instrutions as well as a PDF file you can copy/print
@@edwinsanchez1538 awesome!!! Thanks for the info!!! 👍👍👍
I think the ebay vendors have figured out supply and demand because they are asking ridiculous prices for the mirror
@edwinsanchez1538 I actually saw a mirror and 3rd brake light cam and video connection for around 550, which really isn't that bad. Well, worth the upgrade if you ask me cause until you see how clear it is.... it really is night and day
I can't find the ebay link to buy the mirror
If you go on eBay, you will need to search for the mirror by the part number or item description. Just put in your truck information on eBay motors, and it will tell you which one works and which one doesnt
@@That-Silverado-Guy Thanks for the information friend, I hope your channel continues to grow more
@sapyrasta thank you very much for those kind words!! 🙏🙏🙏 hopefully, I was able to help you out. Feel free to ask any more questions if you need more answers
I’m trying to look for the parts for the rear view mirror camera but can’t seem to find it. Would you be able to show me the links
Links should be in the information of the video intro.
Is it possible to have both the rear view and the cargo camera?
I don’t have the rear view camera but I have the 360 cam and was surprised there wasn’t a cargo view
From what I have read , it's possible to have both.... all you have to do is connect to the video inputs for the cargo area that is located under the glove box area. I haven't tried yet as I don't need the cargo but have seen forums about it.
@That-Silverad-Guy
Wish you had done a video from beginning to end step by step. When you’re Over 68 it’s hard to understand. We seniors need to look at something.
There are other videos with the step by step process, but unfortunately, I lost footage and sound, so this is what I had to work with I do apologize
@@That-Silverado-Guy
Well it was a great video. I would love yo have it on my Silverado LTZ. Also you are one lucky man to find the deals you did find. I do not have that kind of luck.
You have a Blessed week.
@@vancecost Thank you very much for your kind words!!! Have an amazing week/month/year as well!!!!
How did you remove the black trim around the rear view mirror. Didn’t understand in the video
Very carefully pull away from the front windshield . They are held in with push in connectors. There is an inner piece and an outer... do the inner first
Did the light you bought have the camera and wiring with it? Wanting to add this but using the recon 3rd brake light which doesn’t come with the camera. Is there a part number for the camera itself?
The light came with the camera and wire on the light, but you will need to purchase the video cable to send a video from the camera to the rearview mirror. Parts should be posted on the information of this video
@@That-Silverado-Guy One more question. My truck is a ‘24, doesn’t have the auto dimming mirror but has forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, and following distance indicator. Do you know if I would already have power to mirror or would I need the gen5diy jumper?
I'm wondering if that will work on my 2023 Silverado it has the camera already for the 360 camera . that will be nice to have too
This will definitely work as long as you purchase the parts as listed. To me, it is a great edition to the vehicle!
Just a tip, you should post videos of you actually doing the modifications. Great videos tho!!
Yeah, I do my best, but unfortunately, as I stated in my video.... I lost some footage of the installation as well as sound, so I had to salvage what I had 🤷♂️. Thank you for watching and will keep trying to get good informative videos out ✌️
I'm planning on adding the auto day/night mirror to mine sometime. 1k to add it to the truck when ordered, 1998 tech...
Damn that's a steep upgrade when I got mine for more than halft off of that price. 👍👍👍
This project is just too much for me...I would F something up for sure. Really nice work!
Appreciate it.... thank you!!! 👍
New Subscriber here. Since you have gone as far as you are going here, might I suggest using some Clear Windshield Sealer and lay a Bead about 1/2" thick along you Rear Window channel. These Windows are framed with Plastic and will start to leak quickly. I did mine last Summer and it took care of everything in One shot. (TH-cam video's on this fix). Very inexpensive fix, but a lot of work getting to the channel. Doing what you're doing, you are right there, do the Rear Window channel fix.
I will definitely check into that... thanks for the heads up and follow! 👍👍👍
I had a small leak on the Back Glass the day I picked up my New Truck, thought it was outside. Nope. I fixed this with 3 tubes of the Windshield sealer and it's dry as a bone, even through commercial car washes.
@@markmanning5683 damn.... nice fix! 👍👍👍
Great video! Thanks for posting! When you were removing the headliner was there any adhesive between the brake light area at the rear and the headliner?
I tried to install on my 22 Sierra and there seemed to be adhesive holding the headliner.
Thank you.... not a problem!!! There wasn't any adhesive on the inner liner.... on the outside part of the spoiler, as I like to call it, has some soft foam, but that was it.
I want the same set up. I found the mirror. Do you think the dual camera brake light will work? Also do you have part numbers for the cables and everything needed?
It really depends if you want the bed cam, and I believe the camera connection is under the glove box for all cameras to the Infotainment system
...GM Genuine Parts 84943261 for the cable
@@That-Silverado-Guy thank you
@@CarlosLopez-yi3ux you are very welcome! 👍
I need the name of the harness!I can't find it on gen5diy
He didn't have it on the site. I just called him, and he knew exactly what I needed.
Have you looked into getting the cargo camera installed also? RPO code: UVN. I have been looking but not found much information about it other than finding the part number that has both and a potential wiring kit for the rear view mirror.
I actually did consider getting the one with both cameras but don't really need the in bed camera, but I did see that there is a video connection under the passenger side glove box.
@@That-Silverado-Guy do you have a pic of that connector?
If I add the backup and cargo setup do you think it would still be plug and play
I didn't add the cargo only because I am not sure that it needs to be programmed by the dealership to add that camera. There is a hub behind the back seat that has all the camera inputs, so I didn't want to chance it cause even the dealership couldn't give me a straight answer if it worked or not.
@@That-Silverado-Guy I found this with the full removal install
th-cam.com/video/SqxRXZ7h7IU/w-d-xo.html
Those part numbers you provided should work for a 2024 Silverado SRT correct?
They should, but I'm not sure if anything has changed, so don't blame me for any issues. Sorry
@@That-Silverado-Guy Do you know if it would work for a 2020 Silverado LTZ?
@danielsolis9068 your truck will probably have the power tucked away where your front dome light is. Everything else should be plug and play
Do you know which pins provide the power and ground to the rearview mirror? Trying to make my own jumper but wanted some clarity.
No, sorry, that's why I just purchased my harness because I didn't want to mess anything up
@@That-Silverado-Guyno problem. Do you have a link to that harness?
@@yaldor yes it should be in the description
@@yaldor www.gen5diy.com
I couldn’t find that harness on gen5diy. Did you have to contact them about it. Also how much was it.
I do apologize....I did have to call him, and he knew exactly what I needed and made the harness for me. I believe it was around $80, but anything to support a business and help out the community!
@@That-Silverado-Guy awesome I’ll give them a call Monday. I want to power my auto sim mirror I have I’m assuming it’s same plug. My 2020 Silverado had the plug in the headliner but the new refresh’s don’t so just need that power tap from the harness
@Dukrzy you can also email, and he is good with responding 👍
Hey buddy how does the rear camera gets power and what do you call tha cable that you ran from the camera to the mirror I got my mirror and the camera and just need info on camera power and the wire you ran thanks in advance
I put the link to the chord in the description, and also, what year is your truck and model? Depending on what you have, you will need a harness, but it depends on the year and model.
@@That-Silverado-Guy The truck is a 24 is got auto dimming mirror so there’s already a plug in the mirror for power I just don’t know how the camera gets power I see you ran the video coax cable but didn’t catch where did you power the camera at
@carloswalters5622 perfect!!! You already have power for the video mirror. Just need to run a video line from the cam to the mirror, and that's it! The power mirror gets replaced with the video mirror and just run a new video cord from the camera to the mirror and thats it!
@carloswalters5622 I had to get a harness cause mine didn't have power going to my mirror and if I am correct.... you already have power which will power the new mirror.
There is no way!!! I’m definitely doing this one!!
Hell yeah!!! 👍
have you thought of how to replace the rst side mirrors with ltz side mirrors? i am looking to see if anyone has done that yet?
That has been a thought, and I have been researching what is needed and how much for parts, but right now, my priority before that is exhaust, intake, and trailboss hood. Hopefully, if I find the parts for cheap, I will jump on it.
@@That-Silverado-Guy ok thanks.
Love your videos. Great details.
@rodneneal01 no problem!!.. thank you for watching! 🙏
Ok did some research and gen5diy said if I don’t have rpo asv code the splice harness won’t work, did your truck have that code? I have the collision sensor behind the mirror, idk if I have the glued plug or not but they said without asv then I can’t get power to mirror. Any insight you might have on this? Thanks!
What year is your silverado and model?
@@That-Silverado-Guy I have the 23 refresh sierra pro
@low2kchevy my truck has that sensor, and that's what I needed to tap into for the harness.... does your truck not have one?
@@That-Silverado-Guy I believe I just have the the collision sensor but not sure on the temp sensor glued to the headliner, that’s why I am so confused I even asked if they make one to plug into sensor since I’m pretty sure it gets power for it. But they said no. As far as my mirror it’s just a manual mirror
@low2kchevy feel free to follow my Instagram, and if you want, I can do my best to help you there

@@carsontipton3778 I might just let me see if I can get it first... thank you
I have a 2020 rst can I add the 360 camera, heads up display
Things are possible to add to your vehicle, but for your year, i unfortunately don't know the process. What I do know from past Silverados is that if you want to add a HUD, you will need the HUD as well as the button, and it will need to be programmed to your vehicle. As for the 360 camera system, I am not sure how to do that.
@@That-Silverado-Guy will can mirror work properly like for example if I get it out a caddy truck or car etc ?
@luckytexasslots9281 I am not sure sorry.... please check other TH-camrs that have your year vehicle with the upgrade you are looking for, and that will help you!
