Esta canción significa tanto para mi, me acompañó mis 7 años de medicina general y tmb mi especialización. Cada vez que necesito valor, sé que lo encontraré en esta poderosísima pieza!
Imo, this is Sonata Arctica's best song! It speaks so clearly to me about freedom and being able to live on your own without worries of people controlling you, and it evokes the various emotions like a good power metal song should.
I declare this song my so far most favorite song, even when i listen to many variety of styles and bands, this song is perfection to me. From lyrics to Music. KICKASS Intro, verses, chorus, bridges, keyboards & guitar solos, DAT keychange at the end. Everything here, BPM, intensity, epicness.. all fits perfectly well to me. Thank you Sonata Arctica, for this motherf***ing great song!
I'm obsessed with the intro and with the bridge...You will remember the day you crossed my path! Leaving me without guard, can you feel my wrath?! What you have done to me has made me bitter and cruel!!! I'll see that all the hate you spread returns to you... you!!.... to you!!!!!!!!!
Last September I rent an harley Davidson and I crossed the nevada desert all alone. among the songs that were playing in my earphones there was this one. Well, in that moment, I felt really free like a wolf on the hill. What a fantastic song
+Antonio Misso I nevenr thought about playing this song in the desert, but now you mention it, it would make an ideal driving track. I always thoguth of this whole albulm as somthing to play in mid winter, partly becasue of the artwork, adn the whole albulms visual theme.
This song hits me so hard. The emotion that this song releases in me makes me tear up. I love it. It's an unexplainable phenomenon. I LOVE YOU SONATA ARCTICA
Here it is! The video that opened my eyes to Sonata Arctica. I first saw this video almost a year ago and since then my liking of thm has only grown. Thanks for the good times!
Best part: " You will remember the day you crossed my path! Leaving me without guard, Can you feel my wrath? What you have done to me has made me bitter and cruel, I'll see that all the hate you spread returns to you."
I would say the best part is: It's my song they now sing to you You stand no chance They'll kill for me, steal back my freedom, set me free It's my minions versus thee Fiery the vengeance, hate will drain me.
Heard Sonata 1 year ago now, it is the band that is my most favourite now , they changed me from a Thrash/ Death metal head to a power/prog person Thanks Sonata Arctica !
Sonata has only done two werewolf songs - FullMoon and Wolf & Raven. This song and "Ain't Your Fairytale" are about real wolves. It's just about a caged wolf who yearns for the freedom of the forests and hills. His threats could be interpreted as either delusionary or authentic - either his captivity has simply led to dreams of a wolf army coming to rescue him, or there actually is such a force. I prefer the first interpretation, it's more realistic and sadder... his rage comes out in these dreams and delusions. And I don't think it has anything to do with Fenrir - just because it's metal doesn't make it Norse. I have a mental image of this song, of a captured timber wolf in a foreign zoo, alone and mismanaged in a steel cage, staring endlessly at a single tree on the far hillside, realizing the true meaning of captivity: he isn't even free to look at the tree from another viewpoint. To date, my favorite Sonata song.
Whenever I listen to this song, the moment it picks up I crank the music to max and close my eyes. In that moment, I feel free from all that troubles me.
Of every song I've ever heard, this is the song that made the deepest impression on me. And I know this song is true: there are thousands of people and animals that really suffer in captivety. I really want to help them, and I shall if I can!
Amazing song! desperate, agressive and beatyfull in all ways. and the lyrics of this song is most powerful and meaningful lyrics of all the songs I've ever read the text of. when I read the lyrics to this song I almost started to cry. this song can make people think twice before they violate someone's freedom, and make them slaves or captives!
There are songs and then there are "songs" that touch ones inner feelings somehow, this, for me is one of "those songs" The lyrics match the music like 100%
that was the first sonata arctica song I've heard and that was years ago..but the song awakes still the same deep emotions. I still love this song, but I haven't listen to any sonata arctica song for years I think..shame on me...right now I think should start listening to them again...they are so great!
The first SA album I owned. The whole thing is incredibly dense and makes me feel like I'm in the thick of the forest. I absolutely love it, and this song as well. :)
The last repetition of the chorus from 4:05 to the end is absolutely beautiful. I really love this song; I'd say it's the song that really got me into Sonata Arctica.
I am not an expert on Sonata Artica songs, but to me this song and 'This ain't your fairy tail' are the best wolf themed songs I've heard from this band.
this should be a hymn to freedom, this gives the perspective of someone who don't have it's freedom and really want's them back, in the case a innocent wolf imprisoned in some kind of cage i love this album
Wolf: Freedom has a meaning for me!
Also wolf: *runs around a tree endlessly*
That is a fine definition of freedom for me.
I know it is kind of off topic but do anybody know a good site to stream new series online ?
@Mathew Jaiden i would suggest Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Toby Collin Yea, been using flixzone for years myself =)
@Toby Collin Thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it !

Without a doubt one of sonata's best songs.
Powerful lyrics and music. And tony's voice was peak.
The final chorus is something to live for! \m/
Totally!! 🤘
I feel a chill on my body when he sings "I do not have another year in me, you've gotta set me free!".
There is just so much power in that phrase!
I am quiting my fucking job tomorrow!
It would be cool and interesting to hear it.
Yesss, I know this song for almost 10 years, and today I actually understood what he meant by that
Dear Canalla Puto, do you listen this song whit your parlantes?
Imo, this is Sonata Arctica's best song! It speaks so clearly to me about freedom and being able to live on your own without worries of people controlling you, and it evokes the various emotions like a good power metal song should.

Kind of yeah, you'll find diff meanings as you get older, I don't believe there's just '1' meaning to any song, it's about how you perceive it
This sonata arctica's record is a lung for european power metal! I can feel the fresh air in every melody and riff!
I declare this song my so far most favorite song, even when i listen to many variety of styles and bands, this song is perfection to me. From lyrics to Music. I have so many great memories associated with This song. I like to roam around the woods where I grew up while blasting this on my phone.
This is my old account.. can't believe it's reaching 2M views 15 years later!! Glad i could share this beautiful music with all of you

John Delamater They need to put this album on Apple Music! I have this song live because of For the Sake of Revenge, but I want this version too!

Dear god i love this song. I just saw them in san francisco last night, and it was GLORIOUS!!
I am from Russia and I don’t understand many words. But I express great respect to the group. Especially the guitarist!
Haven't heard this for 10 years. I don't know how I even got to first hearing but it is awesome.
Best part: " You will remember the day you crossed my path! Leaving me without guard, Can you feel my wrath? What you have done to me has made me bitter and cruel, I'll see that all the hate you spread returns to you."

almost as good as 'The words of a banished king: I swear revenge!'
Despite all my rage, I am still just a wolf in a cage

(insert Nicolas Cage reference)
"Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage" :-)
DESPITE ALL MY RAGE, I AM JUST AN ONION IN A CAGE

God, that last chorus just makes me feel things. Such a wonderful song.
i don't usually listen out for lyrics, but the lyrics to this song just blow me away
This is quite possibly the most passionate piece of music I have ever heard.

This is really well done for a lyrics video.
Well, phew, glad to 'hear' it xD.
And, well, I find this lyrics very inspired and full of meaning. Sonata Arctica are definetly good
These songs ("ain't your fairy tale", "the cage" and "wolf and raven") put my feelings into words perfectly, my drive for freedom.

Best song ever!
I never realized it that it was written from a wolf's point of view. Only now do I realize the true meaning of this poetic fantasy.
The last repetition of the chorus from 4:05 to the end is absolutely beautiful. I really love this song; I'd say it's the song that really got me into Sonata Arctica.
That's the font for Will and Grace. And as a fan of both, I appreciate it.
