I was about ready to drive up to SB for a wellness check on you!!!!! Wonderful to see and hear you again, old internet friend! Good to hear the good health news.
I'm still around, Scott, and doing well for my age. Actually, I'm doing better than some people I know who are younger than I am. Good to hear from you too. -Dennis
The machine sounds great - nice and quiet. The lighting is outstanding!! So great you don't have to add a lighting strip as it is already built in. I imagine you will have lots of fun with this beauty!
Thanks. So far, it has been a really good machine. No regrets. Yesterday I wore a shirt on which I embroidered my little camper logo. It shows up well in the video I uploaded yesterday evening. -Dennis
I wish I had your sewing talent. I bought a sewing machine but I haven’t had the patience to learn how to properly use it. I’m not very coordinated it seems. I was going to hand sew a patch on a hat and I just got too frustrated even trying to pin it in the center and gave up. Maybe I’ll try again now that you have inspired me. Thanks for the health update. I am glad you are doing relatively well. I appreciate you sharing your journey with us. You are valued by your community of viewers.
Thanks for the excellent comment. When I was in college as a theater major we had to work in all disciplines. When I learned how to sew in the costume shop I thought, "This could really come in handy someday." I'm glad I learned to sew. But it does require patience now. At 72 my hands are kind of clumsy; so I bought a couple devices to help me thread needles. -Dennis
Wow! A second new video from Dennis! What a treat! 🙂 I'm glad you shared this video. I'm in the market for a new machine. I had a Brother featherweight that lasted for many years and that I really liked. It broke down recently and I was told the part needed to repair it was no longer available. I've just been researching new machines. This looks like the Cadillac of sewing machines!
Thanks Mea. Yeah, now that I am feeling much better I'm in the mood to do videos again. This one, though expensive, was a birthday present to myself, or at least that is how I justified it. I've yet to assemble a shirt on it, but I have one planned. -Dennis
Thanks. The horizon memory craft is another excellent machine. I have a lot to learn. Today I'm trying to figure out how to do a monogram. It will get easier with practice. -Dennis
Dennis, it is so good to hear from you my friend. That shirt is one of the better ones, such a great color combo. I own 5 bikes, I ride everyday , but a couple of them I rarely ride. So I understand accumulating a few extra machines. Is it necessary? No. Is it fun? Yes. I have paid a fair amount of money to have work done by a local embroiderer. That’s pretty amazing this machine can do some basic work. I’d love to see some of it. I can’t imagine how hard things got for you. I’ll say it again. It’s really great to hear from you and see you. We should all be so lucky to have a bunch of people who miss you say so when you pop up. I’m ecstatic that you are doing well. I hope to see a short video time to time if you feel up to it. I didn’t want to disturb you with needless emails. Take care my friend, I hope the Janome treats you well!
Thanks Eric. Yes, a few extra things, even if not needed, can add some fun to life. Emails are okay now. Six months ago, no. I was miserable. But around the beginning of March I got things under control and I've been comfortable ever since. I can sit though a stage of the Tour de France and I can sleep comfortably all night. I'm happy again. (If you watch the Tour, a shame about Cavendish. I was heartbroken for him. I was really hoping he'd beat Eddy Merckx's record.) -Dennis
I got this for Xmas, it’s framed in my bedroom. So I do not share your affection for Cavendish! www.amazon.com/Dominates-Vintage-Cycling-Picture-Peddler/dp/B00G4FA29Y/ref=asc_df_B00G4FA29Y/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=644936268841&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4645616874364371775&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021514&hvtargid=pla-1954433626304&psc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnrmlBhDHARIsADJ5b_lZ3y_F_GtXZb5L_kGyk8sypCHUb2PlBI2pzcBfsNx6vBzfY3P7HtEaAkypEALw_wcB
That was a really pleasing response. It gave me a pleasant chuckle. Thanks for sending me the link to the photo. Manckx's record still stands. Cavendish only equaled it. I was pleased when he met with Cavendish to encourage him. That was touching. -Dennis
Have you ever considered doing a video or a series of videos showing the steps to making your own shirts or aprons? It’s interesting that you make all of these yourself.
Thanks for asking Nicholas. I did a three-part series a few years ago. Part 1: th-cam.com/video/H2k101tbSiE/w-d-xo.html Part 2: th-cam.com/video/v2fW2wgOQ8g/w-d-xo.html Part 3: th-cam.com/video/fnvM6HdtfKA/w-d-xo.html It might be worthwhile to renew it with this new Janome 9850 sewing machine. -Dennis
Thank you! 😊 I tried to buy shirts I could use in my videos, but the best way is to tailor them myself. And life is a little better when having interesting projects. -Dennis
You’re alive!! 🎉🎉🎉 Come on, Dennis. We have to celebrate the funny things! Glad you’re back for at least one video.
I am! Thank you for giving me a good laugh. I haven't yet celebrated getting this machine; so, I think another special dinner is in my future. -Dennis

Thanks. It's good to be back. -Dennis
Glad to see you back! I don't know anything about sewing or sewing machines, but that looks pretty neat. You always have the most interesting shirts 😁
Thank you! 😊 I tried to buy shirts I could use in my videos, but the best way is to tailor them myself. And life is a little better when having interesting projects. -Dennis
@@MyKitchenVlog That's very true! It's always good to have a few projects going on. Have a good day there, Dennis!
Good to see a video from you. Been a long time.
