By watching the quality of Mr Mongkolchai Pechsri, I realized two things 1) one of the reasons why Thailand has not been qualified for the world cup, and 2) Asian football will never get better without putting tremendous effort into improving the overall quality of referees.

1. The second yellow card that the Korean defender received was too much. The Japanese striker's touch was directed to the outside, and the two players were in a common physical fight
2. Japan's free-kick spot was absurdly wrong. If you look at the (full video) slow scene again, Japan one block Move forward of the grass line and kicked a free kick.
3. In the second half, Japan gk had to get a red card and South Korea had to get a pk. GK failed to touch the ball and knocked over the Korean striker. (Of course, the pk that Korea didn't get in the first half is also...)
4. The two teams were tight before the Korean player was sent off. But everything changed after the red card. As a result, Korea received an unfair red card, the wrong free kick position, Japan gk that was not sent off, disappeared pk(s)... This was a 10 vs 13 match. a game that Korea cannot win. or it was a game that Korea should not have won.
5. Congratulations on Japan's victory.😊 Separately, it was a very shameful game for Asian football development.

As an American and a soccer fan, the match was very fun to watch and evenly matched until that very controversial second yellow on the Korean cb. The following free kick was also 15 feet too close, so the anger on the Korean side is understandable. There were a few other bad calls going against the Korean side. Bad calls happen in almost every game, but there were just too many, too big, on too big of a stage. This is the finals for crying out loud... Can't blame the Japanese, because they played good football too, but again as a fan of the sport, such terrible performance by the referee ruins everything. Well done, AFC! Haha.

An unqualified Thai referee messed up the level of the game. No penalty was given to Korea, and Japan gave a suspension and penalty. Discipline the unqualified Thai referee immediately!
As a Japanese, I genuinely wanted to see how the game would have turned out 11vs11 and I understand why Korean fans are upset with the refereeing.

The Thai referee ruined the final.
1. The foul by a Korean player was not red card.
2. The referee did not correct the position of Japan's first free kick goal, even though it was 5m foward from the original position.
3. The referee missed Japan's goalkeeper's penalty foul in the second half.

This was a great game to watch until the ref ruined it. I really thought it was gonna go to the penalty kicks the way the two teams were playing. Then the ref got involved.

I have seen serious misjudgments and I wonder who the Thai referee is. Is he one of the players in Japan?
The Korean players did fantastic job all the way in the tournament and hopefully they didn’t get too discouraged by the under qualified biased referee.
Korea could beat other countries, but it was simply weaker than Japan.
Korean's delusion as always, 3-0 is real.
Considering that we were unable to score in the first half, it is clear that Korea did not have the ability to score.
Some people complained about the referee, but even with that in mind, the difference in ability was clear. Japan will win 3-0.

First of all, I want to congratulate Japan for the trophy. They are one of the best U17 teams in the world at the moment. The record indicated they were the overwhelming favorite even before tonight's match. So it is a big shame that how horrible performance of the referee tarnished the celebration of Asian youth football and Japan's win. Up until the half time, the match was evenly contested with 50/50 possession and similar number of shots on both sides. Then the referee interfered a few minutes before the half time by giving extremely soft red card to Korean CB, assisting Japanese free kick goal by spotting the ball almost 5 meters closer to Korean goal, not calling clear PKs twice for Koreans, and not giving Japanese GK deserved red card. AFC is probably the biggest reason Asian football can't improve further. AFC was disgraceful.

Why this game is full of shit and why you Japan is also full of shit
1. The referee did not give two clear penalties to Korea.
2. The game was tight, but Korea was leading slightly on various statistics until the ref gave a second yellow card to a Korean defender that clearly did not deserve another care. This basically changed the whole dynamics.
3. The first goal was scored by the free kick that Japan got from number 2. But what’s more serious is the fact that Japan kicked the ball way in front - much closer to the post than the original foul area.
4. Ref gave a yellow card to the Korean director instead of the Japanese goal keep who clearly committed a foul inside the penalty area by knocking off a Korean attacker.
5. This referee was in charge of 4 of 6 Japanese games. It’s pretty clear he was bribed to make Japan a winner.
Shame on the ref, AFC and Japan.
These highlights chose not to highlight the red card.
The FK location is also wrong. The foul was far behind, but why is FK kicked far in front of the point of the foul?
Do not make complaints to Japan but just submit proper complaints to ACF. Thats it...

This is a scene of a referee's mistake that you can never see in Europe. If the same mistakes were made in European football matches, the fans would not have left the football referee alone. Or, obviously, you could have tried VAR. I think there is something wrong with the quality of this Southeast Asian soccer referee. I don't think all Southeast Asian referees have a quality problem, but only this Thai referee has a quality problem. That said, not all Thais are blamed.

Because of his manipulation, Team Korea has to play with only 10 players since the middle of 1st half due to unnecessary 2 yellow cards for red card to take the core defender out and that gives free kick to Japan for goal and moreover give away Korea's obvious penalty kick, which is more than suspicious. I'm Thai and I was in the stadium. To be honest, even I always support Japan but I would have liked to see the 11 vs 11 game , I feel sorry for Korea. I think it should not be a second yellow. For me , yellow card was acceptable if it was a first crucial foul on the referee's consideration. I feel sorry for Korea, you guys did a good job on this tournament and congratulations for Japan anyway. It was a big game I enjoyed it. @@dragonyoon4109 Yes, the referee made a mistake but it's was hard crazy raining 20 minutes before the match and I thought the match could be postponed. Finally the match could be continued because of the good system of the stadium. We are not perfect but that proved we are ready to be a host.

❗️Thanks to the bullock Thai referee to play as the 12th player for Team Japan. It’s also strongly suspicious that he has been referee for 4 games of Japan in a row to win. Because of his manipulation, Team Korea has to play with only 10 players since the middle of 1st half due to unnecessary 2 yellow cards for red card to take the core defender out and that gives free kick to Japan for goal and moreover give away Korea's obvious penalty kick, which is more than suspicious. This is a U-17 championship for young players, so it is fine even if one finishes runner-up or a semi-finalist. It is an opportunity for improvement. But the four scenes that the Thai referee made wrong judgements that affect the result of the final match are terribly poor. This is not a final match at all. The quality of the referee at the final match just shows how poor the level of Asian footballing is, a reason that almost all of Asian footballing countries except few do not qualify World Cup repeatedly. Uncivilized referees messed up the final match.
Football often goes unfair but it is what it is.
As jp, I hope to improve asian referee levels and if we can do that, the level of asian football get closer to Europe.

I checked the controversial scene at 0.25x speed in high quality mode and the goalkeeper was touching the ball. It also changed the rotation of the ball. In other words, the judge's decision is correct.
This was the worst refereeing done at a final match of an international tournament. It could have been one of the best matches to watch but the terrible refereeing by the Thai referee completely ruined the game.
