    There is a trade off. The candy is more expensive, but the dentist is cheaper.

    I take British chocolate bars on my vacations to give to hotel staff and girls I meet. Always goes down a treat.

    Those prices are actually kind of expensive. That’s why we bring a suitcase full when we go and bring Filipino snacks home for my wife to give to her Filipino friends and family when we came back.

    The name brand candy at that store is comparable to prices in the US. My wife and I were out shopping yesterday at a Costco and the candy was within 1 dollar of what it is in your store.

    I'm running my Amazon app to compare prices, cheaper by a few pennies. My Nanay wanted some White Tolberone, so I brought them for her. My lil grandson, I bought him Nerds. I need to bring back myself some Filipino candy.

    I love York peppermint patties. Gee, thanks, Brian, now I have the munchies. Hahaha. I haven't bought a large bag of candy in a long while, but those prices seemed high. Good job, as always.

    I was shocked at just how much candy is in every store I’ve been in during my PH visits 😮 Filipinos sure love their sweets 🍫 😂

    The 12oz Whoppers carton is $2.50 at Krogers. I usually buy the 3 oz packs of Twix, Kit Kat, Snickers etc. for about $1.25 to $1.50.

    Krikland is the Costco store brand so S & R must be the Philippines Costco since they also carry Kirkland. The prices you quoted seem very much in line with US prices though the single bar price would be a sale price here in the States. Good to know the US brands are even available in the Philippines. 👍😎✌

    • @mikejones5364
      @mikejones5364 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @TOM-C.
      @TOM-C. ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikejones5364 Yeah, I figured with the Kirkland brand Costco & S & R must be related. My guess is that Costco owns S & R, and just renamed it for legal reasons, probably? 👍✌

    M&M’s went up nearly 25% from a year ago!
    Pure Gold Duty free on Clark has them on sale for less than $17usd. Was there yesterday. Bit irritating when they price some things in USD and others in pesos.

    another great video Brain, in the UK we also have Easter Bunnies as well as Easter Eggs from small to huge but most are about half the size of an American Football. I will keep my eye open for you on my walks as I am here in Angeles right now

    “Hour Philippines” is always price comparing at S&R.
    Btw, M&M’s priced $5 higher there than Costco. $18.99 or p1025 Costco SF Bay Area

    Filipino candy like Cloud 9 and Curly Tops are ok and are very cheap. The chocolate coating always seems to be thinner than the American brand candy they're trying to copy.

  • @HammerheadCooking
    @HammerheadCooking ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It didn't look very crowded there at S&R like Costco is the USA. Did you check out the food court? My wife was saying they make like a Costco style pizza there. I'm flying out there tomorrow and we might be checking out that S&R next week. Place looks pretty cool.

    • @PhillyinthePhilippines

    • @HammerheadCooking
      @HammerheadCooking ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhillyinthePhilippines I was there yesterday and I can confirm that the food court is quite legit for here. We got a combo pizza and it was of a US Costco quality. Lots of other choices like hot dogs, burgers, fries, chicken and pasta. Might be going back there this weekend and will surely eat there again.

    Brian that was a " SWEET " vedio. Agree with you as I got older I stoped eating candy, a scoop of plain quality ice cream here and there instead, " when sweet tooth monster attacks " No more candy quality caffeine free tea instead of coffee and now use raw honey instead of sugar when ever I can. 😊

    We Filipinos love American chocolates but they and practically every single thing imported from America are so expensive. What we do is we consume them only on special occasions. However we have a local Filipino brand Goya which may not be at par but still of very good quality.

    They celebrate the true meaning of Easter Brian the way it has always been meant to be celebrated. The way Easter has been celebrated for millennia by the church. The commercial candy crap came along much later and mostly in North America, or the United States.

  • @toddp3111
