Pavarotti, when asked, said that if he could have anyone else’s voice, it would be Elvis’. When questioned why, he said that Elvis could sing like he could, but he couldn’t sing like Elvis.
I am convinced the James Bond people took the first few bars of this song as inspiration for their first 007 film theme that came out a year after this Elvis track.
I have never watched an Elvis reaction as many times as this, must be over 20 times by now. Perfect song and perfect reaction all combined it's pure magic.
Give Elvis a song to sing, he will sing it and the song will come alive. Try to cover a song by Elvis and you will see what extraordinary and inimitable skills & charisma he had. He was, is and will always be the greatest!
This is one of the songs that proved that he could've been an opera singer if he had wanted to. He certainly admired opera singers like Mario Lanza. I have to say that I'm glad he didn't go on to do just opera, though, as we would have missed out on so much of the great music that he did go on to perform.
I go back to the 50's and can remember an interview with the young Elvis and he said , I really don't have a good voice, I am not a great singer, but I try to give a great performance with what I have. Imagine, as Opera star Mario Lanza once said, Elvis was a fan of mine but in truth, I'd rather have had his voice"

You are such a darling, Seph!! It`s official, you are a romantic :))) And to think that, in the beginning, people accused him of having no talent and no singing skills at all. I couldn`t be happier that he proved all those imbeciles to be totally wrong. But then they started the new rumor that he was a racist and that he stole his music from black people. In the end, they finally could accuse him of being obese, and a drug addict. They made fun of his white suits, which had their purpose and stayed unique to this day. Dear Seph, thank you for keeping Elvis alive and for all your great reactions :) I wish you and all your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and all the best in 2023.
All of the above👌Elvis was the first to get hate mail, After performing on the Milton Berle Show, in 1956, to a TV audience of 40 million, they received 500,000 complaints. Elvis, this song, and your reaction to it....top notch!! It's unfortunate that so many people only know Elvis as the King of Rock 'N' Roll and never experience his many other sides. "Surrender" captures so much that I love about Elvis' uniqueness....his soft and tender voice and the quick switch to his loud and powerful voice, his range, his vibrato, his ability to convey emotion, his enunciation, his operatic notes, and his amazing way of making each person feel like he's singing directly to her or him and, to coin a phrase you've used, invading their soul. I think you've hit the tip of the Elvis iceberg. Be prepared for a gazillion more goosebumps!
This song should have been the intro of one of the James Bond movie. In fact, i'm almost certain they took the intro of Elvis' song and added to the Bond movie.

This song has an interesting history. It was an adaptation from a 1902 ballad Torna Surriento. The words were written in English by Doc Pomus and Mort Shaman. Published in 1961by Elvis Presley music
The vocal control and pitch are exceptional. To glide so effortlessly between lilting falsetto to deep baratone and then operatic power... No one did else it that well. Before Elvis did it, the old Italian song Torna a Surriento (Come Back to Surrento) was usually all sung in full voice rather than parts in soft romantic tones. (See Pavarotti)
Surrender is my favorite song by Elvis. I love pretty much all of his songs, but this really showcases so many of his incredible vocals and tones. So thankful my Dad introduced me to him when I was a kid, I don't know if I'd appreciate him as much otherwise. :)

Epic song best of the best love songs ever done! It starts of with kinda James Bond theme and when Elvis beautiful voice blasting out with full POWER, WOW WOW WOW!!! THIS IS A ABSOLUTE MUSICAL MASTERPIECE! Very good goosebump reaction, was your neckhair standing out Seph? I guess it's one your phone with all the other double bangers you bought. Elvis is no longer a boy in a pink cadillac, he has now become a man. There's no limit what he can do, he has gone from being a poor boy to the one and only king of music. He is making the whole world tremble with only his voice alone.
What a lovely comment. I have to say: I respectfully disagree with those that say that the army "killed" Elvis. Vocally, Elvis had gained power and control. He obviously put in practice singing while in the army. A voice just doesn't naturally mature like that. Your vocal chords is a muscle and like every other muscle, if you don't exercise them, the muscle(s) will actually weaken, not strengthen.
I brought this from iTunes and its now sitting on my personal playlist. This Elvis journey is starting to cost me a fair bit of money because 98% of the songs i love from him cost about £1 each and no word of a lie ive now brought 50 songs... Im starting to think it might be cheaper to buy a multi pack of CDs or vinyls BUT i cant do that because its a massive spoiler and i dont want to accidentally listen to a song i haven't heard yet. Also i honestly dont want a cd player or record player sitting in my house. So im kinda outta options on that front haha But... I must own all his best songs... Its like an addiction at this point. So i have no regrets! These songs are honest to god worth every penny!!😍😍😍😍 And i get my use out of them too. You think that the Elvis songs is costing you a fortune, wait until you get hooked on the Elvis Handshaken Creamy Milk, that's really expensive. But really good in coffee.🙃
I like this song. Nice pop ballad. That being said Elvis Presley is not the King or The other analogy used, of Rock and Roll. He was a cover artist. Out of 700 recordings in his career, over 500 plus were cover songs. Other people's music. That makes him a COVER artist. He didn't write a single song. That right out the gate eliminates him from being in that discussion. THIRD he was more POP than Rock 🎸. The majority of his recordings especially during the 60s, were pop fluff from movie soundtracks which were just awful. REAL rock 🎸 belongs to The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Cream etc....artists who actually WROTE, COMPOSED And were the creative force behind THEIR OWN music. Music that changed the landscape for generations to come. Presley definitely did not fit in that category. A cover artist has a limited shelf life in terms of actual relevance.
@@SephPlays Why? Actually I like him. I have several CDs 💿 of Presley that cover his career. I just look at him from a much more realistic and balanced approach when assessing his standing amongst other Artists. And the truth is he is more of a commercial force than an actual cutting edge, innovative, ground breaking ARTIST Who created a genre/ sound that would influence generations of ARTISTS down the Road. The Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin, James Brown etc.... all created actual Genres that ( ROCK, HARD ROCK, FUNK ....) Would usher in other cutting edge Artists. Elvis only ushered in teen idols who would become passe quickly once the novelty wore off. This is no put down of Elvis. He was a good performer with a good voice that was definitely suited for Ballads. I have several of his songs on my personal playlist. But he was a cover artist. And there is nothing wrong with that so long as he's not anointed into a platform he clearly doesn't fit in when considering the actual definition of what a CREATIVE ARTIST is.
I guess as you have made such a lengthy re the title King of Rock 'n Roll would mean it pains you and think he is totally over rated. He gets the title because he stormed the US taking 50's R&R to global heights, and was also by far the biggest name outside of the US. He had 14 global hits of enormous magnitude 1956 -59 , and was the talking point good and bad in institutions/ clubs of all types, and an admitted influence on the 1960's groups e.g Robert Plant, John Lennon.. The fact he didn't write music was neither here or there BACK THEN and people listening to his songs on a record player or on the radio couldn't give a toss whether he wrote his music or not - they just bought his records in their millions.
I stand by every single statement and observation about Presley that I've posted here. Because they are FACTS. For those of you who are immature and clearly judging by your overly sensitive, Almost grade school variety insults directed at me, I say do yourselves a favor in order to prevent further angst : COPE. Because I can assure you that I will continue to stand by my comments with absolutely zero regard for your emotional investment.

It was worth the wait, have a great Christmas seph,I'm off camping, fishing and golf in the sun.cheers from the land down under.
Hey Seph! Just discovered your channel! Loved y'r Elv1s reaction. He is a phenomenal singer and still loved worldwide! More Elv1s please!!🌍🇿🇦
Sooooo much more Elvis Presley coming :D
Such an AWESOME SINGER!
When are we going to stop walking on eggshells for fuck's sake? He doesn't need a damn title, shit. He was/is ELVIS. That's it. 5 damn letters = THE GOAT. Keep trying y'all, '56,'77 or 2023, timeless and untouchable. Set the bar higher ain't nobody kept yet.
A real grabber. Hey Seph😊
@@sammy_the_uncool2702 couldn't have said it any better myself.
@@terrymeddings5563 Thank you so much 💖🙏💙 Happy Holidays & peace ✌ & comfort & joy & good tidings to you & yours ⭐💕
So im kinda outta options on that front haha
But... I must own all his best songs... Its like an addiction at this point. So i have no regrets! These songs are honest to god worth every penny!!😍😍😍😍
And i get my use out of them too. Peace in the valley is one i have played every day since i heard it here on the channel 😅 and omg "Don't" and "It's now or never" are ones i now know every single word too 😍😍😍
@@SephPlays You must own all his best songs 😂😂😂 That honestly made me LOL! Ohhh... Your list of your personal "Elvis" favorites WILL change. You'll have some songs that will remain on that list forever.
I am speaking, of course, from personal experience 😄
Seph: "Exploding ovaries!"
Me: "Mphheeewwww... Uhhh- calllgghhh- cullghh- cullgghhh..." * wheezes for breath while laughing- coughing after an involuntarily spewing of morning coffee from mouth *
Note to self: Never drink & watch Seph react to Elvis at same time. May result in accidental spewage of hot coffee- or hot cocoa.
Dear Lawd, Seph, are you TRYING to make me die laughing?
This was an absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 reaction! Holy 💩 on a carrot stick! You NAILED this one to the dang wall!
Bravo 👏👏👏👏🙌💃🙌💃🙌💃🙌💃 BRAVO 🌹🌹🌹🌹🎩💐
WELL DONE! LOVED 😍💖😍💖😍💖😍💖 THIS!
THANK YOU SEPH!
Merry Christmas 🔔🎄 & peace ✌ & comfort & joy to you & yours & to your Dad (hey there 👋 Seph's Dad) & to one & all here as well ⭐🙏💕
Omg such a waste of delicious coffee!!! ☕😯 I do apologise 😊
I freakin love this song "If you couldn't tell" haha😍😍😍😍
@@SephPlays And now you why "Surrender" is on my top 20 favorites list. (Sometimes the overall rotation changes but there are concrete constants- my #1 will always be my #1 favorite for instance 😊).
And you don't have to apologize!
I'll tell you a "little" something about me: I read book reviews before actually deciding to invest the time to read the book. And there is a "dark" part of me that gets a perverse pleasure out of reading some of the negative reviews. Some people are just witty with it & come in with their word smithery sharpened.
I'm not all 🌞 & 🌈's, Seph, I have to admit that I have a dark side. It's just not the dominant side 😂
@@sammy_the_uncool2702 hahaha what a confession! Amazing, what has Elvis done? A woman has reacted she got hypnotized slave, your confession here..... shall i confess that this time, I just got up on this saturdaymorning drinking coffee, put the speakers on a litle loud and I broke when I heard it. I cried. Don t know why, I heard the song 100 times before.
@@thepuma2012 That's happened to me! I have no idea why but the other day I was listening to one of Elvis's live performances (1970 Las Vegas version) & I have heard it & watched that version SO many times but for whatever reason that one time I just started BAWLING 😭😭😭 And here I am thinking, "Oh my God, whhhyyy???"
@@sammy_the_uncool2702 OMG i love reading negative reviews too!!
Some times you get that one person who is really angry and passionate about hating this thing.
I remember reading this review on amazon once. I was wanting to buy some earpods for a family member. And i scrolled down to the comments and there was loads of negative reviews "All like 1 star"
So i was curious why there were so many reviews. Started reading them and holy moly people were *Angry*
The main reason was that the earpods *MELT* in certain conditions. And in others they just get very very hot and left burns on the people who used them. So pretty nasty.
But then there was this one reviewer who must have had the worst day. His order arrived late, the packaging was damaged, the sound from the pods sounded bad and after about 10 minutes of use they burned him. And omg i wish i could have saved his rant on them 🤣🤣
No don’t stop
Could you react to change of habit elvis and Mary Tyler Moore so good elvis is inner city doctor and Mary Tyler Moore a nun went to city without her habit no one knows she is a nun etc so good and good music
😂😅😂
Gotta get that Elvis butter, is that on Amazon?
LMAO "Elvis butter" i dont know why but that sounds soooooo freakin wrong 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@SephPlays Elvis Handshaken Creamy Milk, how does that sound? Mine is running out, gotta get some more of that creamy milk, unfortunately it only "comes" in very small bottles.🙃
You think that the Elvis songs is costing you a fortune, wait until you get hooked on the Elvis Handshaken Creamy Milk, that's really expensive. But really good in coffee.🙃
@@robbansa 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Holy carp 😝
I'm guessing you hate Elvis xD
Your envy for Elvis hit you hard🤣🤣🤣🤣
I stand by every single statement and observation about Presley that I've posted here. Because they are FACTS. For those of you who are immature and clearly judging by your overly sensitive, Almost grade school variety insults directed at me, I say do yourselves a favor in order to prevent further angst : COPE. Because I can assure you that I will continue to stand by my comments with absolutely zero regard for your emotional investment.
