@@mauirandall8176 So I though of a dumb idea where Karu would leave the crew along with Usopp and he would be his superhero sidekick named something dumb like "Swan or Phoniex Spotter" and then it would have the Snipper God bounty be shared along with Karu now. Of course the only problem is if he would leave the crew, but considering how Him and Usopp got along well in Little Garden and Usopp idea where he though Luffy might find the crew replacement like he was going to do with the Merry it might convince Karu to join him. Karu is shown to care greatly about the crew friendship by how he kept the Bandage around his arm since it was a sign of his and the straw hats friendship.

Vivi could be the crew's Diplomat and do things such as negotiate to get the Strawhats out of the grasps of The Foxy Pirates so the Davy Back Fight Arc never happens.
That would be truly a blessed timeline.
This was my exact thought. She could rally the Shandorians, win over the Franky Family, be the one to convince Usopp and maybe Robin to rejoin the crew, convince Garp and Aokiji to not turn them in to the WG when they come across each other, interact with the revolutionary army in cool ways, and a bunch of other cool stuff. It also fits with Tekking's time skip training idea he had. Her dream would be to travel the world to gain the experience necessary to be a worthy ruler of Alabasta, and maybe abolish/reform the world government. The snow devil fruit would be cool because she could potentially cool down Alabasta so it's not a wasteland, and provide more water.

I think that would've gotten resolved rather quickly tbh. I mean, Vivi joined Baroque Works too. I think Vivi would understand that Robin has her reasons like she does. Heck, she may even be grateful to her for lying to Crocodile about the poneglyph (which pretty much saved the country) and helping Luffy.

I think it's not just the fact that she is a princess. It's more so the fact that she knows how to behave like a princess. She knows how to flatter people and get on their good side. If she joined she would have been the diplomat of the team.

1. I would like Robin and Vivi to travel together during Skypiea. This would be a bonding arc for the two. Vivi would learn of Robins backstory before everyone else, and learn to trust her (while being distrustful in the beginning).
2. From the bond gained in Skypiea, and knowing of her backstory, she would be one of the most motivated to rescue her during Water7/Enes Lobby. Instead of fighting Blueno (most random matchup ever), she would follow Luffy to Lucci and Spandam. They would separate and she would fight Spandam, while Luffy dealt with Lucci. It would be a gag, that Spandams sword goes off and does its own thing, much to Spandams displeasure. Spandam might not be as weak as he portrayed, because of his sword that ate a devil fruit. That could be a fight in its own. Carue vs the Sword while Vivi would fight Spandam.
Basically Vivi would fill the role that Franky provided to Robin. Be the person to save her at the end when they collect the keys.

I think if Vivi get's separated as Sabody Kuma would sent her to a kingdom where there are 2 people who are constantly at each other's throats. That she has to practice her diplomatic ability and craft a huge new system of laws and rules to give a permanent peace. That she saves the king and then seeing a lot of her own situation in him decides to help.
She would also gain a lot more appreciation for her father as she is met with hate and scorn from both sides for trying to help them. She would eventually figure out a way to make it work but something like that would really give her a lot of practice in diplomacy. Maybe the kingdom also has ancient laws dating back to the void century that Vivi uses to make a completely new law book.
At the end maybe the king does a favor and goes to visit her father. Vivi doesn't risk coming along but he hands over her lawbook and a letter to her father. That makes him very proud seeing how much Vivi is growing into a diplomat and lawmaker.
Maybe they ask her what they can do to thank her and she says she wants to learn the whip fighting techniques she's observed in the kingdom. That they use thorny whips as weapons. Maybe they can go from flexible to stiff and back again. That Vivi uses the whips when fighting multiple weak opponents and makes them into wrist blades for one on one.

i always have this headcanon of "where could vivi have been sent by kuma if she would have joined the strawhats"
so... nefertari vivi, after being defeated in sabaody like everyone else, is sent to a small island located in paradise, where every first day of the week, warriors fight with their warrior pets against another warriors with warrior pets to conquer the center island of this archipelago, because that's the only island with drinking water which will be available for the winner tribe of those islands, but after vivi appears she tries to help them to stop fighting against each other just to find out there was never real damage to the people cause this was like a game for them (a game they take extremely serious)... so after trying to leave the island but reading about the 2y promise, she begs to the leader of the island she was sent, to let her participate in the game so she can become stronger, so as you can imagine, he accepts... and after 2 years, vivi and karoo return to sabaody, together they have improved their strength, stealth, strategies and teamwork (i would like to visualize vivi as sejuani from league of legends), vivi would not be on the back with nami, usopp or robin, she would be in the middle line with brook, franky and chopper as a strong warrior who with the help of her pet is able to take waves of enemies to a small and middle distances with her improved peacock slashers which now are more like whips tied up to her wrist (also she has developed observation haki and karoo has developed armament haki so they together are extremely badass)
chopper was sent to a island full of medical journals, franky went to vegapunk´s island, nami to a sky island full of meteorologists and zoro with mihawk... an island full of warriors who fight with their pets can exist

I somewhat disagree. With foreigners like that it's not really so much what you are as how you conduct yourself. Vivi knows how to be a princess and so she would be able to flatter, negotiate and perhaps even blackmail herself into those establishments. I think in Wano she would be more valuable than ever since there are so many allies and enemies who are not all that committed to their cause.
If Vivi had joined the Straw Hat Crew (Officially), she'd basically be my favorite female character in the crew....gotta love the blue hair chick the most lol

I don't know how many people were in the fandom back when Vivi left and Robin joined but I actually recall ALOT of people being practically outraged that Robin sort of replaced Vivi on the crew. Rboin got some genuine hate for it, though I was pretty open to what is going to happen next.

Luffy doesn't see why sex is such a big deal. He doesn't seek out sex, so he has it when Robin wants to.

Or you do realize that Vivi could just resume her Miss Wednesday alter-ego as a straw hat in public on different islands and during encounters with the Marines and other WG agents so as to hide her identity and connections to Alabasta, they could just be fooled into thing Vivi and Miss Wednesday are different people.
And to be honest I always preferred Miss Wednesday’s hair style over Vivi’s, l like tightly pulled back ponytails with absolutely no bangs rather than loose bang hanging ponytails.
I hope in the current story if the theory of Sabo saving Vivi and taking her back to the crew are true than she will be Miss Wednesday again.

Well, there's isn't solid proof that Sanji didn't get the genetic enhancements.
If you look at the flashbacks, the doctor said something that went like, Sanji was the only one who didn't show the eminent difference in body design and stuff.

If Sanji did undergo genetic alteration like his brothers, he'd be cold and heartless - just like them - which was another effect of the alteration. I don't know what powers he'd get. Probably either stealth- or fire-based powers, one of which he already has and the other of which the raid suit can give him. It seems power-wise he wouldn't be much different, but his personality would be vastly different.
I would see Vivi as the diplomat. I know that would counteract a lot of Luffy’s style, but its be cool to see how the story wouldve changed. We saw her strength when they reached Drum island and convinced Luffy to stand down, and what it means to be a leader. And later in the story she could be the strategist for the grand fleet
She would go nut, when she learns about some of the things they have been up to, while they were handling the Wano arc.

@@grennbalze Well, they are pretty similar in some regard while being different. When Vivi was with the Straw hats, Luffy learned from Vivi as a leader, while now, Momo is learning from Luffy the very same thing. I think had Vivi been on the crw, Momo would have looked up to her and Luffy and maybe saw his parents through them. (Luffy does have a few similarities with Oden, and Vivi looks a bit like Toki)
Momo could have even always went to Vivi for comfort when she was around, (not being pervy for once) because he subconciously still seek out his mother (he is still just a traumatized 8 yo). And I can see Kin seeing that and being really emotional because unlike us, he would understand why Vivi is treated differently. And the moment we get the flashback, the scene would hit us differently then.
Okay Tekking, I’ll play along. What if Vivi was sent back to Alabasta by Kuma on Sabaody? She can have a reunion with her father, Igaram, Pell and Chaka but she can’t reveal herself because she’s a fugitive of the WG, assuming Alabasta is still affiliated with the WG. She could spend the two years training with them. Pell is a falcon (Horus) and Chaka is a jackal (Anubis) (the two guardian gods of Alabasta), so maybe they have access to a third Devil Fruit in the set that represents a third guardian (maybe a cat, because Bastet) and Cobra gives it to Vivi. I imagine in this situation, Karoo is actually stuck on Sabaody with Duval and the Flying Fishriders, protecting the Thousand Sunny from the Navy and other pirate crews. So Vivi could also have a tearful reunion with him after the time skip.

That...actually makes a lot of sense.
Vivi will definitely awaken conquerers haki. It just fits her so well. Remember, she's had the makings of a King (or a queen) ever since she was little. From the flashback at Drum Island where Vivi, a small child, is able to think of the future of (at the reverie when she was small (maybe 10?))... To even challenging and accusing Luffy himself as being a failure of a captain at the start of Drum Island and getting him to follow her suit! Again, she's thinking of the consequences and the future to save Nami, and Luffy himself acknowledges her decision.
If she joins, she'd undoubtedly become the vice-captain, at least in my mind. Aside from Zoro, she's the only one to challenge Luffy's decisions and get him to understand. The interaction and dynamic those three would have had is something very interesting to think about! I'm not suggesting at all that they will be at odds! In fact, I think they'll be on the same wavelength! You know how there's two groups: one making insane decisions and doing crazy shiz all the time (Luffy, Zoro, Robin), and the others freaking out but giving in in the end (Nami, Usopp, Chopper).? I think Vivi will actually belong in the first group. Just think back to her decision to join Boroque Works (she was 14 or smt btw) to everything else. She's dedicated and just as crazy as the others from the first group.
Ya know what's wierd to me, there a lot of people who ship vivi with luffy, theres many that ship her with ace, and some that even ship her with sanji, but I'm just sitting here think what about kohza , the guy from alabasta that vivi has known since she was a little girl. He has the most chance of being with her, and yet I can barely find fanfiction of vivi and kohza.

I've always assumed that Koza (Kohza? Kozha? Anyway, not important) was her romantic destiny. It's kinda written in the clouds that these two are meant for each other. They both value Alabasta and its ideals of peace and prosperity enough to fight for it and lay down their lives, they are childhood friends of about the same age and her father the king already likes him for his earnest demeanor and stuff. Crocodile threw a wrench in all of this with his machinations, but one would assume they've made up by now and are well on their way to a romantic sub plot we'll never get to see because Oda just doesn't have the time to cover it, although I guess a single cover page would suffice at this point.

I think with Vivi and Karoo going into battles together would be cool. Vivi fighting atop Karoo like a knight, then later post timeskip coming back with Armor and a Armored Karoo would be epic. Her 2 years away could be spent not only rebuilding a country but also training as a knight or she takes on a Joan of Arc vibe.
Also Vivi should grt Conquers haki!
If Vivi joined, I would imagine her as being the secretary/treasurer/quartermaster of the crew. She would be in charge of their money so that Nami wouldn't be in monopoly of the money. Sanji would be consulting Vivi about buying ingredients and would be asking her instead of Nami about getting the fridge with lock. Likewise, Chopper, Usopp and Franky would go to Vivi if they want to buy medicine and materials for tinkering. She would go with Nami and Robin whenever they go shopping for clothing and books. Basically she manages their finance involved in managing all the rations and supplies which I think fits with her royalty background. Carue would be the crews messenger whenever they're far apart (within an island) if den den mushi is not around (and 2nd emergency food supply lol).
With this, Kuma would send Vivi to a small kingdom with extreme poverty and high crime rate (maybe Sorbet kingdom??) then she would help resolve the kingdom's issues which would improve her financial abilities and 'royaltiness'. High crime rate would improve her fighting abilities. Carue would stay in Sabaody Archipelago, temporarily joining the Flying Fish Riders and protecting the Sunny. Shaki would be his mentor and teach him haki.
As for the journey, I can already imagine how dramatic it would be when Robin joins the crew where she would be the most opposed but then eventually comes into terms with her. Then by Water Seven, she would be listening with Nami to Iceberg about Robin's story and greatly advocate for saving Robin shouting at Luffy stuck on the buildings. This would be a sign of her big growth as a character.
For their other adventures, she would be the one to always be next to the 'princess' of each arc (Connie, Shirahoshi, Rebecca) giving them support. Besides her fighting some Nami level fights, I can also see her to be the one calming and motivating the masses whenever they are in they are in danger (like the masses in Fishman Island and Dressrosa). Basically she will be the moral support of everyone giving them more hope and motivation to do things which would also be another great sign of her growth especially after the timeskip.
End of Story, Vivi would be sitting on the empty throne just like Im foresaw and would stabilize the whole world from the ravages of the great final war with the help of the expertise of the whole crew. (yeah this sentence is a joke but just imagine...)

I think she would also get a deep connection with Momo. Since they both are heirs to a throne sailing for easily months with the Straw hats (plus, Vivi has blue hair. Kin and Momo could get 'strangely' sentimental with her for 'no reason', Kanjuro too later, same for the Minks and Raizo and it will take us finally seeing Toki in a flashback to get it. It could even be slightly hinted at by Momo not being a perv only when it comes from Vivi, more coming to her because she remind him of his mom. Which could make Kin even more emotional, with some of the most observant Straw hats noticing this but never really asking)

My headcanon until it actually happens is that Perona goes and confronts black beard to get Moria back the same way he did for Absalom only to find our that he too, has been killed.

You forget that Blackbeard and his crew defeated the Whitebeard commanders effortlessly according to Robin and since they’re known to use underhanded tactics in fights they would all attack him at once and let Shiryu finish him . Hey there Tekking! Great video, my favorite in awhile tbh! Hope you don't mind me tossing my two cents in on Vivi's potential weapon design. I loved your idea of dial whips already, I just really enjoy creative speculation. :)
I could imagine her developing a proper fighting style as she gains experience and getting an upgrade more in the way that she utilizes her peacock slashers rather than massive upgrades to the weapon itself. Perhaps she could use multiple (one per finger maybe) and use them to not only whip strike and slash enemies but also entangle/bind them to limit their movement, sling to walls and ceilings for mobility Indiana Jones style, and/or perhaps (if we are looking at the more brutal applications) use the peacock slashers like strings to rip into enemies she has managed to entangle.
But ... she does have a role in the crew ... she is (in a way pretty much) "The Strawhat Crew Ambassador".

I think it would be cooler if Vivi had armament haki and Karu had observation. I can see Karu having that insane reaction time and everyone would not be sure if he can see into the future or not due to his reaction time. Then with Vivi I think her having strong observation would just go with some form of a stereotype (reminds me too much of Rebecca) but with armament she can channel that into her whips to make her attacks stronger (plus I don't think most opponents would think she had that ability).
Anime would have more fanservice of Nami & Vivi.

this very idea is one of the bigger turning points in a One Piece Fanfic 'This Bites', though it's not so much 'her choice' as much as the world government labeled her an ally of crocodile and put a bounty on her head leaving her no choice but to join the Strawhats. Don't want to spoil a lot of it, but they do give her a hilarious quirk where she forgets things that she has no business forgetting especially life threatening stuff.

I feel like Vivi would have the snow snow fruit because it is more likely that than Naomi getting it because 1. Vivi is weaker then all the straw hats 2. She was from a sand country so she might like the cold
A "Snow Snow Fruit" would be way too similar to Aokiji's Ice Ice Fruit. And each Devil Fruit are supposed to be one of a kind, so sadly it's taken. And honestly, if I were to pick a Devil Fruit already taken to have a duplicate for a girl to eat, I would pick Luffy's Gum Gum Fruit. But only for a sexy woman in a filler arc. There'd be no point in giving Vivi the same powers as her captain.
Dude, I love the idea of Vivi going on to fixing a broken country during the time skip. It makes sense. She has the experience of here own country and skypea, so I can really see her pulling it off. BUT, the question would be, what would she get from that?? More political power? World Government respect (which Luffy didnt get....)? This could really be cruicial to the crew's balance post time skip, being more invovled. Probs, Luffy might become a shichibukai!
Anyway, I can see Vivi becoming more diplomatic and thus being able to help Dressrosa more efficiently from afar (or maybe directly?). She wouldnt necessarily fight hand on hand, but having knowledge of ruling kingdoms and stuff, she might find a way to ruin Doflamingo's plans internally or finding other possible solutions. I can see her developing a mentor like realtionship with Becca, giving her some leadership advice, allowing her to know/understand the situation. She could strategically use Law's plan and add in her own to allow greater contribution by the people, or cautiously disrupt the Smile fruit supply/resource, or compeltely wearing down all commerce both internationally and in black market.
In all, she would have a cruicial role in Dressrossa and it might change it entirely. Maybe she could prevent the entire fight whatsoever, threaten using allied powers of countries (adding Luffy's allied pirate powers), might become a greater challenge to Doffy.

I have a really fun dynamic in mind now where Vivi is the official quartermaster so to speak, and she's good and her job and respected, especially because of how she's very respectful and encouraging to the crew. And then Nami will just randomly insert herself as the bad cop that yells at the rest of the Straw Hats to get off their asses and go to work.

Dont forget that in the anime, vivi had a hypnotic perfume, I believe it was a dance in the manga, that she incorporated into her attacks. A perfume paramecia fruit would fit her pretty well.

i see a lot of people not acknowledging Vivi as a Strawhat, and honestly that sadden me quite a bit. like did they not watch that tearful goodbye, and how they all promised to always be Nakama despite not traveling together? that scene bring tears to my eyes every time. and Oda reminds us that she is a Nakama whenever he has a chance too. like remember the 3D2Y thing? the idea was that this hidden message is something that only the Strawhat can understand, not just the meaning of the tattoo but even noticing it and understanding Luffy's purpose of going back to Marineford. Luffy is a very weird and unpredictable person, that only the Nakama can possibly understand him, so only them notice how strange it is for Luffy to do something like that while the rest of the world can only see what's on the surface. and along with the 9 members, Vivi and Carue also noticed this, Vivi was extremely concerned for Luffy after reading the newspaper, and she was pulling her hair out trying to understand what's Luffy is trying to say. she didn't know the context so she couldn't know the meaning of the tattoo like the rest of the crew, but she did know what was going on. Vivi is and always will be a Strawhat Pirate.

I guess what Tekking said at the beginning of the video is the clearest way to put it. If I was watching One Piece all that time ago she would have felt so much like part of the crew as a new member that I would actually be heartbroken when she leaves. I honestly never understood why for 20 years this character among so, so many others was talked about in this way. I think if I hadn't been binging the series and already knew that she wasn't a crew member, I would have felt the same.

Some thoughts I have one this:
Weapon: I thought maybe a giant axe as a reference to Nami's original design, but I like your reasoning with the whip. Maybe she could get Ohm's iron could sword and use it as a whip and axe?
Position: Quatermaster sounds like the best suggestion you made, but my own ideas would be either diplomat or spy.
Power-up: Maybe Karoo could eat a devil fruit, so Vivi could stick to the pattern of keeping the same skill set but still getting stronger. A variation of the horse fruit might work. He could be a pegasus, like Pierre. A fruit idea I had recently, that could work here too, would be the Kirin fruit. A kirin is a horse/dragon/giraffe hybrid that symbolizes leadership.
I think that if Vivi would have joined the Strawhats crew, at first the World Government would have thought she was kidnapped. Probably she would have had a wanted poster before the Enies Lobby arc with the “ONLY ALIVE” inscription. After Robin’s rescue, it would have been interesting to see Cobra’s thinkings if the World Government knocked on his door and asked him to say that Vivi is no longer his daughter and Arabasta is not his kingdom anymore. I'm not sure what kind of strategy Cobra would have followed because he really loves Vivi and as you said, he will never be ashamed of being his father. At first, probably he would tought that be with the World Government is the only way to survive to the pirates on Grand Line, but later I'm sure he would remember what Strawhats did for his kingdom and what de government did not. Probable he would have made a speech that would have made the WG get angry and... send a Buster Call? It would have been pretty dramatic, and I can only imagine one solution: Revolutionary Army saving the day. Vivi would have known this moments before Kuma separate the crew (they were isolated on Thriller Bark when the Buster Call happened), and I can see her traveling alongside Robin. Also I can see the scene where Robin got send fly by Kuma changing Luffy for Vivi trying to save her and got send fly to Tequila Wolf, where she would have found Cobra and the others... That would make Vivi and Robin's relationship get better, specially with Cobra's forgiveness.
I’m pretty sure after Levely Vivi’s going to join the Revolutionary Army, but it would have been great to have had her on the crew during the adventure because she was a great character, better princess than the others that come after her. As you said, in One Piece the strenght is not that important. Look at Nami, Usopp or Robin. Vivi could have fight with intelligence and strategy, or at least batte alongside Nami to win Califa, Baby 5 and enemies less importants...
I hope one of the strawhats get a devil fruit WHILE being part of the crew. So far every member that had a devil fruit had it before joining or they just dont have a devil fruit.
And then, you have this discussion where Vivi could get her on the timeskip, as a good surprise. (I think Oda have them getting their devil fruits off screen because it takes a while for them to grow use to them and use them properly)
Luffy had a struggle making his rubber ability something to really be reckon with in a battle, and he has his fruit since a long time. Robin's fruit is similar. I think even when we saw her with it, back in her flashback, she already has it since a while ago.
Chopper and Brook are self-explanatory as to why. Brook had to die to fully awaken its potential while with Chopper, it is the time he figure the rumble balls and the differents transformation. (I think Zoan type are one of the hardest for people to be used to, since this involves physically transfomring. Momo was even thinking he couldn't transform back, until Luffy told him he coul)
