Hey Music Man, please reissue this reissue! Great demo of this awesome bass! It delivers pretty much every sound I could want from a bass, at least from an longscale, and it manages to keep its own distinct personality. The classic, cool and distinctive look helps with that for sure.

@@byjuu246 Absolutely, I completely forgot to add this. Yeah, just like the SBMM StingRay Classic 5, this would be a dream!

    Superb, is right.
I just tried out the Ray Special 5. No personality, very little Leo left in it.
Now, THIS little unit has some charm and grace. Must check it out.
    Your playing is marvellous.

I always wanted a MusicMan Sabre Bass Guitar & though the reissues look exactly the same & sound great I wanted an original going back as far as i wanted to with regards to what the Sabre Bass had & eventually last year I managed to buy 1 of the last batch of the 1991 MusicMan Sabre last year that im sure the re-issued Classics used the 1991 version as their template to build on both its look/sound options & all around appeal as both the 1991 model & the re-issue look exactly the same...
I'm guessing when they thought about releasing the re-issues, they chose the very last version from 1991 as that was the most recent & advanced model of the Sabre until they stopped building them & believe me that the wait for the Sabre was worth it...
I also owned 2 Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray Bass Guitar's & like Leo Fender's original inception of the Leo's MusicMan Stingray those Stingray basses give you that we'll known bright punchy treble & Bass sound that it's famous for but don't be decieved by those who say the Leo's & Ernie's Stingray Bass Guitar's are one trick pony's as you can various sound on the Stingray & the Sabre to me was always the best of both worlds that could deliver even more sound's that just the MusicMan Stingray could...
If your a bass player/thinking of playing or just a collector bass guitar's they don't come as iconic as the cult following both the Stingray & Sabre have become & if & when you can I'd suggest you buy one of these re-issues but it's a case of Each To Their Own...
The only difference which by the look of the 1991 or earlier models & the re-issues is the microscopic differences between the size & positioning of the pickguard & the chrome shielding plate as I wanted to buy a new & different look pick guard & replace the chrome shielding cover plate on to notice in the small print that both items on fit on the re-issues...
Nowhere does it say it can't or won't fit on the 1991 model yet they don't 100% come out with information stating that it definitely won't fit the older models but that their versions of the pick guard & cover plate only fit on the re-issues & I'm sure if Ingrave mine to a Luthier it wouldn't take much difference in the spacing between the pick guard screws & the size of the chrome cover plate , though I could be wrong...
The MusicMan Stingray & now that they relaunched the re-issue of the Sabre are 2 bass guitar's that every bassist should have in their collection , along with the rest of the bass guitar's you like & own or want to own & play them but that's just my honest & humble opinion...

Even before I picked a bass guitar up many many year's later I had already subconsciously stored in my head the sound of specific bass guitar's that had their own distinct sound as i had no intention of playing the bass guitar & it wasnt due to the old fashioned idea that you just hit on a few notes but instead I enjoyed messing around on the drums...
Though I my friend at that time for pestering me to over & over to pick up & try the bass guitar bit I had a sneaky idea that he was looking to play along with a bass player since he'd been learning the rhythm & lead guitar many years before I did eventually pick a bass up & all I can add is I felt at home on the bass guitar & I instinctively knew how to go about teaching myself to play it & ever since then I've been in love with the bass guitar & all the various sounds/genres you can play & how it keeps evolving as an instrument...
After this happened with my picking up & playing the bass guitar , it's always been my belief that we are born to play certain instruments & at first we might be on another instrument until we somehow find our way to picking up a completely different instrument & choosing that as our go to instrument & yes you can go on to still play what you originally were player & more but there will be one that you'll always be drawn to first & that will be the instrument you choose as your main instrument of choice...
In light of this still ongoing coronavirus & its variants stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world...

+PhuckHue2 I get you are comparing it to the original Sabre, but still, like a Musicman bass needed a bright switch in the first place.

Would this be a better bass for metal than a HH Stingray? what do you guys think?

    • @woofystevenson2943
      @woofystevenson2943 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

For metal try a Seymour duncan spb 2 hot p pickup in a p bass and see how it just slices through guitars

metal puts so much artificial distortion on the sound what difference does it make what bass you play?
