    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Students can join a class as a guest with their personal email, and have access to Teams. They won't have access to OneNote though. To make sure your students have full access, it's best to have accounts created for them. For schools, it is free!

    Hi, I have a question. I'm a dance instructor, and I will be teaching on Ms Teams, starting next week. I'm entering as a guest. When , we did a test, the people joining the meeting can see my image big (full screen). However, I just see myself in a very small little corner of the computer. How can I see myself big in my computer? can I do it, or do the meeting administrator needs to do something on her end? while dancing I move around the room, and I need to make sure, I'm in frame and students can see my feet. Thank you in advance for your help. Great video.

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seems like you can't. However, there is a tricky way: Stop your webcam in Teams -> open your Camera app in Windows or other camera app if you are not using Windows -> Share your Camera app or entire desktop in Teams. This way you can see yourself full screen, and your students will also see you in full screen. Hope that helps! :)

Would it be better for me to not screen share?

    Hi. High School teacher here. During the meeting/class, I have lots of students commenting in chat and every time an alert pops up which blocks that whole side of the screen when many are doing it. Is there a way to turn off those alerts during the meeting? Also, is there a report I can generate that would have attendance and entry /exit times for students? Thank you

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I'm not 100% sure if you mean for chat alerts in the call, or students posting on the Channel, but you can try to adjust the Notification settings in Teams. To do that, simply click your profile image and click Settings, you'll see there is a Notification tab.
      As for attendance report, YES, there is an Attendance report feature, but the feature must be turned on by your admin, and only meeting organizers can download attendance reports. During the meeting, select Show participants and choose Download attendee list. The list is in CSV format.

    Thanks! That was much simpler and better than any other explanations. One problem I seemed to have in my first lesson was being able to see my students. They were able to see each other but I couldn't see them. Why was this?

      Hi Louise! Thank you, glad I could help. This issue can arise if students are "guests" in your class or if you are using the web application of Teams instead of the desktop application.

    Hi, I would like to use the browse powerpoint function to present my powerpoint - but when i do this and the file uploads it is very clear and crisp and I can see all the tabs and chat - but when my slide comes up with a video - the students have to press play on their devices. even though I have disbled the function for them to move bewtween slides. How can I rectify that when my slide comes up with a video - that I can control it?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. It looks as if this is normal behavior for sharing PPT within Teams. However, you can try either of these two things to help: 1. Add a transition/animation to the video so that it plays automatically when the slide starts (Transitions, Timing, With Previous) or 2. Share your desktop PPT application so that you can play the video for everyone. With this option, don't forget to also share system audio so students can hear the video as well.

      hmm, teams is usually pretty quick about updating the students to your team but sometimes it can take up to 24 hours! You and your student can try logging out of Teams and logging back in to see if that has helped as well.

    As if there were no better tools out there.
    Microsoft Teams is good as long as you do not care about being spied on by Microsoft, they use and sell your personal data and all of your students' also. I only use Open Source products that respect privacy regulations and laws (Jitsi, Big Blue Button i.e.)
    Additionally, this software runs on a safe Linux machine.
