I had Italian beer like one time and it was too bitter and strong for me. Props to Italians for liking a beer that can literally make you grow chest hair. Italian beer is for people who are into drinking beer. Even an IPA is not as bitter as Italian beer.

I agree ..Went there for a week holiday with my friend who is Belgian and he introduced me to the beer. I have to admit, their beer was nice...so I had to bring some back home ( I live in UK) ...but lucky there is a Belgium bar in Londo ( which I found out a month ago). I might pop in one day.

considering the fact that nearly every comment is about the beers being not popular I conclude that buzzfeed must put a lot of effort into their research. good job.
For the people who are asking why Italian, my guess is because they're not a country known for beer at all. They have Peroni, which is nice, but not the best beer available (In my opinion). Other than that they're mostly known for wine and liqueurs. Don't think these particular Italians drink beer much, seeing as they think Guinness tastes like coffee?

Exactly. Usually we don't like so much beers and alcoholics in general.
Maybe alcoholics are more appreciated in Veneto and in other places of northern Italy (they especially love their Grappa), but generally they're moderated too.
We love our wine, but wine for us, more than an alcoholic, it is a fundamental part of our meals and we used to combine it with something to eat, generally choosing white wines for fish, strong red wines for red meat, rosè wines for white meat, light red wines for pasta and so on...
