I changed the design a bit, it was not chesterfield, it was not leather, but it turned out amazing and still serves us very well to this day. Using 3/4” plywood will make this piece very heavy. I used 1/2” because I had a lot of scraps of it laying around in my shop. I’m never one to not use products if I can help it. The 1//2” held up just fine and did not give me any problems as far as stability. Just adjust your plans if need be, your couch will remain just as strong. Good luck n happy building....

Great video! I'm building this from your plans but I have one query. At 1:20 there is part #18. The light grey one which has a broad V cut. The valley of the V cut is 4" from bottom but where along the length should the valley be?

How type of plywood are you using and how did you cut it to get it so precise? I did see you measuring square as you put things together, was it cut that close or did that just not show in the video?
I think you made a great effort and it's given me ideas to work with but if there is anyone going try and follow the video plans then you need to know that a number of dimensions are incorrect. So you'll have to adjust where needed. Still really helpful as there are' nt any decent plans out there for this kind of sofa.
On part #4 you got all the notch cut outs to be 1 1/2 x1 1/2 but on part #2 you did not have any measurements on it.Please clarify the dimensions for us beginners.Thanks.

Question: when you drill your pilot holes, do you go all the way into the second piece of wood?
I would recommend doing so. Especially if you are screwing into end grain, which is prone to splitting.
