I have been fishing my whole life, and watching this podcast brings back memories when I started teaching my son how to fish. One word of caution I noticed you have to be patient when they are at that age. Give them every confidence you can and compliment them every chance you get. I used to tell my son all the time at that age that he was a better fisherman than me after he caught a fish. The best part of the fishing trip was after returning home, I would brag to his mom how he out fished me, and the look on his face was priceless.

my dad had me apart of these fishing group for young black men. We were around the ages of 12 and they taught us the fundemtals of fishing and had competitions against each other. This made me think about those times. Great to see these young men having fun!

This is how my daddy taught me. No baby rod and reels. Just real gear and learning to set that hook on my own. Now I'm a grown woman who fishes with my husband and we'll teach our kids.

It is nice to see that you pointed out that the first big peacock y'all got was a breeder and that y'all released it. Little that most be may believe, that little bit of information they the boys heard will stick with them for the rest of their life. The other moment when you pointed out that the peacock was spawning was also some great info as well. This video has more information in it than most folks understand. I grew up in the 60s as a kid in Fort Lauderdale. As a kid we use cane poles and caught catfish and smallmouth bass. I got my first Zebco 202 when I was nine years old. Manly fish at Oakland Park in Fort Lauderdale. Great times as kids.

Facts 💯 because my dad was heavy user of drugs we all have demons. But when he was sober he made sure me and him went fishing. I'll always love him for that. Rest in heaven daddy thank you for everything.

Hood fishing!!! I've found your channel a couple weeks ago. Subscribed ofcourse lol. I'm in Pinellas Park so I'm always fishing saltwater. I respect you teaching them boys how to catch on there own. My son is only 7 and he's a beast right now. I taught him how to fish since he was 4 and was touch on him after the first couple times. Now he's solo on his own and can catch with the best of them!
