I like Gabby's rants, personally! Being aware of problems so you can prevent them from growing worse is important. There's a big difference between something like "hey, idiot" to a close friend and "hey, idiot" to someone you only know in passing. The former is just banter, but the latter is uncalled for. I had someone reach out after a few years to reconnect and they opened with "Hey, loser," and it was so dang rude! Only my special friends can call me that 😂

I am all for keeping the jokes that are more on the friend level, only on a friend level. People can take jokes to far, and the community can get "toxic", and it can hurt at times. Please stay healthy, both in mind and in body.

I'm American, and we say the pledge in Mississippi. They can't force us to do it as it would be a violation of freedom of speech/freedom of religion, but other students got angry at me whenever I didn't do it. It is indeed very weird, but we do many cultish things in Mississippi

You arent playing the guy from the first game :)
You're just security people coming to rescue a dude.
    *Potential spoiler*
Timmy has been found in the game files, so, with updates, you might run into Timmy at some point in the game. He might become a companion.

    • @damonsnow11
      @damonsnow11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here’s another spoiler…
You actually encounter both Timmy and his dad, who is the person you play as in the first game, in a few scenes at the end of the game. The only companions you ever get are Kelvin and Virginia though.

1:10:46: Regarding how you should view the whole states vs country thing. The US is a federated country. That is a country with smaller autonomous entities within it, but still being governed to some degree by a central government. The EU and UK are a good analogies as they are a confederation and devolution, respectively, placing them on either side of a federation. Countries within the EU, have autonomy, but the EU itself can't directly govern those countries, thus making it a confederation. Meanwhile the UK is a devolution, that is a central government delegates its power to subnational entities, granting them autonomy to a certain degree, but those powers come from the central government (really, that power is derived from the monarchy, at least from a legal standpoint). Thinking about it, the Commonwealth is a confederation, as Commonwealth countries are autonomous, but recognize the monarchy as their head of state. The youtube channel General Knowledge has a video called "Which Countries are Federal States?"

There are a set of people who use utube and streaming to connect, so to them, you guys are important and friends ... not best friends but friendly. There will always be someone willing to take any joke too far, online, or in person ,but it does get to a point where people don't know where they stand . It sometimes feels like no matter what, we are wrong , if we are nice , we "brown nose" or "white knight" if we are funny ,by trying to use jokes we think you will appreciate based on what you put out there, we are taking things to far and it gets to a point of how do we interact? when no matter what we are called out , banned or straight shot down . (I mean none of this in a critical cruel way , my partner streamers on a small scale ) also this is not me crapping you at all , but being approachable is a huge thing online and people need to be able to feel part of a community and a way of doing this is using humour we think you would appreciate. Most of us know that line, and most of us don't think that you guys are all exactly like you are online as in person, but sometimes it feels like , no matter what we are either shut down pretty rudely ( sorry Ellis its normally you and I don't know if you realise how harsh you can be sometimes, just as jokes hurt you guys comments you make hurt others to) it may seem " sad " that people call you friends but that connection can be the difference between a world falling apart and a person hanging on. I really really hope this isn't ever taken the wrong way or cruel ,because iv followed you all (in a none stalkerish way😂) since Minecraft days and appreciate the efforts you all put in to your content ❤ you are amazing but felt on this occasion one of our perspectives that's different to you guys would be helpful x ps ,majority of us truly get that your mental health is extremely important and we wouldn't ever want to jeopardise that ,but calling something an "inside joke" online for everyone to hear kind of means it's no longer an "inside joke"...x

People have to understand parasocial relationships. I am glad that WPE is setting parameters. It's insane how entitled some people are in regards to fandom. Appreciate the entertainment but don't ever think you are entitled to a relationship with the entertainers. You don't know them and they don't know you.

On the topic of Easter, when I was in 1st grade our school had our parents decide if we wanted to field trip to a local church for Good Friday. I went and listened to a pastor explain in vivid detail the torture Jesus went through to pay for our sins. It was crazing and has stuck with me. I'm 22 and don't really go to church. My family does out own thing at home.

I don't think that's the problem of the inside jokes being used by the community. It's the inside jokes of the community being used and/or overused by degenerates amongst the community. You can take out all the inside jokes and they'll still find theme to be a dick about. I personally still think EPMC is quite funny, but I don't think I've ever actually used it and would totally agree it is been overused to the point where it is not funny at all without particular occasions
What I'm trying to say is that it's mostly a symptomatic treatment. At the point when you're trying to fix your cold with antihistamines thinking it's just an allergy.

its probably a good idea to think about uploading a psa to the main channel expressing the issues with those type of jokes since is most likely the type of people who come in and tell them are either just trolls or youtube viewers who dont watch twitch or these vods

Regarding the pledge of allegiance, IT'S FUCKING WEIRD! It's only in my later years, after someone compared it to a similar actions done by Germans pledging themselves to Hitler or the Nazi party (I wanna say it was done by youth groups), did I realize how cult like it is. From the government's perspective, this is a "good" thing, as that means people are willing to do things for abstract ideas. Many people join the military "out of patriotic duty". You can imagine the headspace of some of the more extreme people are in. I know some don't do the pledge for religious reasons as it does mention god at one point (luckily, I don't remember most of it anymore). And of course, if you're not a believer in god (nevermind christianity), you're not going to want to do it. Sadly, this invites harassment from students and teachers alike.

Regarding your parasocial interactions from fans. I understand where you're coming from. I made a comment on another gaming channel some time back. They made the occasional toxic player joke. That is pretending to be a toxic player or otherwise calling out "toxic" behavior. When you watch the video and listen, it's very obvious that they are not toxic and they are making fun of that toxicity. At one point, they were playing Monster Hunter World, a franchise well known for its "Git Gud!" mentality at times. Me, being wanting in on the group joke, made a similar joke comment. A reply to my comment made me realize that when it's only written out and had no extra /s, jk, or similar marks to indicate sarcasm, it does comes off as that rude, douchey player. I made my own reply apologizing to that group, saying something along the lines of "I didn't mean to come off as that way, and that I'm NOT part of the group, therefore, I'm not allowed on the in joke."
The healthiest relationship a fan has with their object of worship is to worship it from afar. As much as it may seem like you're friends with them (due to the fact that they can reveal things about themselves like they would to a friend), THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS! You do not know them personally, and from their perspective, you are nothing more than acquaintance. NOTHING MORE THAN THAT!

If you think saying the Pledge of Allegiance is bad; imagine saying two seperate pledges to the Christian Flag and to the Bible, before you say the Pledge of Allegiance. Suffice to say private Christian schools in the U.S. are just nuts.
