I remember quite a few wrestlers appeared on Going Live and later Live & Kicking - like The British Bulldog, The Rock and Big Show - but I missed this one with Randy Savage.
I really enjoyed watching this. Ever the pro, Randy was great with the kids, handled the tough questions with a mature, professional attitude and also seemed to genuinely enjoy being on the Going Live set with Sarah and Gordon.
One of the most colourful legends ever and all-time greats in the ring. The Macho Man is still beloved & missed to this day.

"Wrestlers are just actors"....Well yes. I never understood the "it's so fake" thing though, I never walked out of a movie and heard people saying "That was so phoney, you could tell James Bond didn't jump out a helicopter and fall down a cliff!". Much like the stuntmen who do stunts for movies the live stunts they do are quite real and take a lot of training and planning to achieve.
Macho Man was always incredible, oozes charisma in every word he says.

I watched WWF as a kid and never realized just what a great guy Randy was. I never realized he looked to give back in return, to inspire. I love how the hostess was in on the humor. The respect he gave those kids as equals. There is another feeat vid of him visiting a children's hospital. If you haven't seen it, you should look for it. There is a comment in the hospital vid of a guy who was one of the kids in the hospital expressing his gratitude and appreciation for Randy for that simple act of visiting when he was little.

Why didn't he put Matthew in a sleeper hold or slap him? That's what happens when you ask if wrestling is fake. 😂

Somehow Randy was more stable than Dr. D and Vader.

Brilliant at what she does - just like her late husband, Mike Smith.

One of the best to ever do it. Savage was a super complex character but he was always renowned for his kindness with kids, amazing wrestler and a great guy.

He for real lived his character 24/7. On the A&E docu, hia 2nd or 3rd wife said that after they got married and got away from the business (and Tampa, FL) he starting talking and acting "normal".
