Oh nice! I’m planning on making a 3/4 suit- but I’m scared I’m going to mess it up…especially since my sewing machine is broken so I may have to handsew….🥲
Thanks to this tutorial, I’ve just stared making my suits armsleeves and they’re already turning out amazing!! Thank you so much for your tutorials Skye, they’re suppppper helpful!!
Your tutorials are so easy to understand and make me have so much joy and excitement! Thank you for the little tips and easy explanations and continue the hard work!
I love your tutorials! I just finished making my first ever set of paws and even though I have a long way to go, I wouldn't have ever even gotten to this point had it not been for your tutorials.
Love these tutorials, I started with no idea now I've produced my own fursuit head and countless gloves, sleeves and a pair of trousers. I'm now planning to make a full suit 🦊
I was literally searching for a arm sleeve tutorial fir when I’m not in fursuit, I also have a question! I loved the tutorial and it definitely helped✨ Will you do a tutorial for legs (not in full suit)?
Thankyou so very much, ive been wanting to create bat wings but i had trouble understanding, thanks to you i can create my bat wings into arm sleves! 🐾
I love this! I do have a quick question: Would you recommend attaching a lining to these (ie. lycra)? I usually wear underarmor underneath my arm sleeves, but I was wondering if it would just be better attaching a permanent, breathable lining to them?
Now I know what the arm sleeves are and how they work. Do you have a video explaining how to make the body of the suit for a full body costume? I also want to know if you have one on how to make the legs and paw gloves/shoes. Thanks! Keep crafting, your stuff is amazing! :3
I just wanted to let you know I recently found as I've been studying fursuit making! I've made 2 tails that both turned out beautifully and I love watching your videos!
Really appreciate this in depth tutorial. 💙The camera angle is great! Can you line the wrist side of the arm sleeve or would it just get in the way? I like hiding the raw edges as much as possible.
If you wanted to add to the fursuit later, would you remake the top or try to fit a torso piece to the arm sleeves? Or just do the top as a whole in the first place? I figure the fewer pieces, the better.. Kinda silly question, but I was wondering through the entire video
how do you make legs if you dont mind sharing me and my friend are making our first fursuits soon and would love the help ive been watching all your viedos for info on how to do it and all
Can you please make a plantigrade leg tutorial? Just legs I can’t find any tutorials and if I start I’m afraid I might do something wrong. It would be appreciated!
Hi @skyhighstudios so I live in Melbourne and i can never find a great fur shop where the sell long fur. Ive been to spotlight and they have pretty good fur but its never enough or never the right colour i want. You seem to have extremely good quality fur. And for the sewing machine, what sewing machine do you use?
Hi, probably a dumb question here, but wouldn't the inside of the sleeve be itchy if it's the backside of the fabric? Would you recommend lining it with something?
Well, I’m not sure, if you put it on and it’s uncomfortable you can get a pair of arm gloves (gloves that go up to your armpit) and cut off the wrist section and just have the arm part and wear it underneath the sleeve? (or maybe just hot glue the fur to the sleeve, either way)
You mean your t-shirt? You just take your shirt off, put the sleeves on, then put your shirt on like normal :P You'll likely need to brush out the fur after though as it tends to mess it up a bit.
hey Skye! I was hoping for some advice....im trying to make a decent sized curly tail in time for Halloween bc I'm gonna be my dino mask partial, but no matter how hard I try I cant get the patterning right...(like it doesn't look right no matter what i do...) anything you could give me for advice would be great, ty!
Can you do a raptor tail tutorial? With feathered tips I can’t find a single one and I have no idea how I’d attach feathers. Love ur vids appreciate this video!! Byee!!
Quick question! Why is fur direction important and how do you cut out shapes in the direction of the fur? I am making a fursuits and I appreciate all of your tutorials!
The reason fur direction is important is because on animals their fur has directions, and if you disregard that your fur will be going crazy everywhere and won’t look natural and quite funny. The easiest way to cut them out the right way is to put a mark on the back of your entire yard of fur pointing towards the way the fur is going. Then usually your pattern should have the fur direction on it, so make those arrows go the same way as the arrow on the yard of fur
I really want to make arm sleeves! I am quite young so I thought a dinomask would be perfect for me. It would be great to make a custom mask and arm sleeves!
i personally prefer to not sew in the armsleeves into the suit since you can use the armsleeves + handpaws for a partial fursuit if ever you wanna wear clothes with ur fursuit, but it's totally up to you tbh
Hello I love your channel your very big inspiration for young fursuiter’s like me. I had a quick question. How do handle all of this hate from people who don’t respect the furry fandom. Btw for the other people reading this. You are loved furry or not be yourself! Not a new person!
Personally I like the paws to over lap the sleeves, and at Velcro to the inside, so that the paws won't slip to low away from the sleeves, and show skin, just my opinion
Hey skye I’ve been in the fandom for a while now and I was wondering what do you think about velcro eyes?(thank you so much if you answer and the tutorial helped a lot :) )
I've been wanting to make arm sleeves for such a long time, and here is this tutorial at the perfect time! Thank you so much Skye 💙🤍

Yayy! I think I have enough fur left over to add arm sleeves to my 3/4 suit :D

Great Tutorial. Did some sleeves for my new LARP character.
ITS surprisigly doable.

Love your tutorial
I love this! I do have a quick question: Would you recommend attaching a lining to these (ie. lycra)? I usually wear underarmor underneath my arm sleeves, but I was wondering if it would just be better attaching a permanent, breathable lining to them?
I wouldn’t, it’s not really breathable unless it’s the only thing you’re wearing xD
Wow perfect timing. Just a couple days ago I ordered the materials for a sleeve!
Omg! Thank u! I just got into this and I'm very glad to know the sleeves are as simple as they look!

Omg this added so much more life to my suit! Thanks so much. Cherry the red dino thanks you ❤

excellent! Now I just need to learn to use a sewing machine....you don't have a video on the do you?
Could you technically make a fursuit for a doll using these tutorials? Just measuring it out

ty for the tutorial its so helpful
Literally just in time!
Really appreciate this in depth tutorial. 💙The camera angle is great! Can you line the wrist side of the arm sleeve or would it just get in the way? I like hiding the raw edges as much as possible.
Wow- this is the earliest I’ve ever been 0-0 Armsleeves are hella comfortable to wear and act like literal arm warmers 😂
Thanks I am making my fursuit rn while u posted this

Must I do hemming? me personally I just seems like a lot of extra work and much rather just skip to the elastic
how do you make legs if you dont mind sharing me and my friend are making our first fursuits soon and would love the help ive been watching all your viedos for info on how to do it and all
I was wondering if there was anything specific one would want in a sewing machine for this? Would an entry level machine be sufficient to sew this?
This is really helpful thank you so much😃
Is there a specific type of theatre you need to use?
I can't find anyone who lists if you need specific theard.

Hello! Question: how do make armsleeves with big forearms? My 1st fursona will be a gorilla, so big forearms

Hi Skye! How would you go with just doing legs? Plantigrade ones for a 3/4 partial?
arm sleeves are the most easiest thing to make for me
Thank you so much Skye this is gonna help me alot :))

I just wanna know what kind of fur you use and where you got it from. it looks amazing and soft!
I love those curvy fancy scissors. ♥️
i have thinked that armsleeves are sewnd into the suit, so heres the question: witch one is better? sewnd armsleeves with the suit, or not ?

That’s why we add the extra inches at the end! ^.^ then there’s no need for Velcro to disrupt the finished look of the paws
I think i have the shirt that you are wearing in the start of the video
Hey skye I’ve been in the fandom for a while now and I was wondering what do you think about velcro eyes?(thank you so much if you answer and the tutorial helped a lot :) )
