So maybe rudimentary question - when you say VM is that essentially just a server running on the site that needs provisioned to run the Zscaler software?
Basically yes, it is a lightweight VM which runs a sort of communicator which talks to the ZTE (Zero trust Exchange). Only outbound which reduce security risk compared to VPN
@@Air_Jordan-g8y how do you believe when someone says only outbound with no questions asked... if i want to upload a file to the server on prem.. how will it work ?? zscaler is just a fancy term for a VPN lol ! just think not only upload file but if i want to access a resource i need to send a GET request without which i wont get a response in this scenario how does only outbound connection work ?
Appreciate the humour brought to a dry subject 🙂

@@Air_Jordan-g8y isn't that just a massive single point of failure then?

If the lightweight VM isn't listening for inbound connectivity, how is traffic going to get from the User -> Cloud -> VM / App?
VPN Server waiting for connection is BAD. Lets put another server that should do it and call it ZTE.
