U used a galvanometer which could detect up to 30 microamperes in positive or negative direction.
My q is, what to do incase galvanometer deflects entirely to either +30 or -30 at any point throughout the wire AB ? Is the circuit connected loosely or is there a fault in the galvanometer ??

If Galvanometer is deflecting one side only that means circuit is wrong . Galvanometer is not used to measure any quantity.It is just used to detect direction of current.
