5:00 The clone with the kooky voice is Gregor. One of the three clones you saw in Rebels on the tank crawler. Where Kanan and the gang meet Rex and Wolffe.
The bulky Clones are Clone Commandos, special forces. The Clone Commando with the yellow paint is Scorch from the 2005 video game Republic Commando, which follows a group of 4 Clone Commandos called Delta Squad. You actually did (VERY BRIEFLY) meet all four members of Delta Squad in an episode The Clone Wars.
Which episode showed Delta Squad?
@@kevinzhang6623 it was during a cold open in season three or season four. They were escorting Anakin and Obi-Wan off a landing platform on Kamino.
@@kevinzhang6623 Season 3 Episode 14
@@kevinzhang6623 They were sent to recover the body of a dead jedi. S3 Ep14
The tougher troopers are still clones... Former Republic Commandos, like the game!
Probably don’t think they’d know the game or the difference 😂
I doubt they know that exists
@@hordelord4759I’m pretty sure Holden said he has played them before which has me shocked that he missed it
@@berleezyfacewhenherealizes9265 to be fair they miss alot of basic stuff
@@hordelord4759 yea that’s true so I’m use to it😂
4:27: you’re missing the important events taking place. The empire is phasing out old procedures
Gregor was The clone from the D-Squad arc in Clone Wars who sacrificed himself.
Gregor was afterwards in Rebels, where he died in the finale to free Lothal.
Did they not recognize him? Hhaa
@@acdragonrider Honestly at this point it shouldn't surprise anybody
@@acdragonrideri mean if you're not massively into it i doubt gregor would be that memorable to the average fan, since you'd want to purge your memory of the rest of the arc he was in
@@hussainsultanzada6123yall are kinda harsh lol. Most of the clones are easily forgettable for most people, simply because there's just so many. Other than Rex and Cody, there aren't too many _easily_ recognizable clones. Plus they know the comments will tell them any info or characters they might've missed, so it's not a huge loss
@@bextomoose I understand what you mean, but still doesn’t make it less frustrating for us fans. Especially when we love the lore and already know these things.
It was confirmed after S1 that Crosshair did indeed get his chip out, but they technically haven’t confirmed when, but they practically have. They said if you pay attention, there’s a noticable change in his bahavior after he’s gotten the chip out. General consensus is that he got it out after being burned up, since he seem less intense on Ryloth, mainly him NOT killing Howzer
The biggest piece of evidence for me is his hair. He had hair up until the episode where he got burned. After that, he is bald for the rest of the series.
Just have to give a huge shoutout to Dee Bradley Baker for doing the voices of literally 85% of the cast in this show. The man is extremely talented at giving each main series clone their own distinct personality and accent even though they all look the same.
The thing that's often unsaid is how the Kaminoans programmed the need for "brotherhood" into the clones as a stress relief but also as their only means of morale.
Clones look out for their "brothers"- but the Bad Batch never had millions of brothers- they just had the four or five of them, with the "Regs" always looking down on them because they were different (despite their enhancements).
Crosshair feels betrayed- left behind in an Empire that gets more alien by the day.
Aw, no reaction to the last scene of Omega saying Crosshair is still her brother?
I never thought Kamino would feel so nostalgic... the hours spent in Battlefront 2 (2005) on this planet, both in multi and singleplayer, it felt like not only the clones home, but also mine was destroyed. Music just makes it perfect.
Just for clarity:
You cut the reaction to the last scene of episoe 16, where the kaminoan Nala Se is brought to an imperial facilitiy in a mountain. That place is called Mount Tantiss on the planet Wayland.
The planet where Hunter got captured in episode 14 is called Daro. These are not the same places.
(Disclaimer: It‘s no spoiler to mention Mount Tantiss since behind the scenes footage with the name of the planet was released shortly after the release of the season 1-release.)
well there probably wouldn't have been much of a mention since in canon it hasn't been that important yet, you'd only know it's gonna be if you've interacted with legends
Most weird cut to the end of a season I've seen them do. Very odd.
15:48 it’s actually heavily theorized it was removed after he got burned by the engine. For some good reasons:
1)his head was burned specifically where the chip was, probably damaging it
2) *before* that point he was consistently gunning to KILL the bad batch- remember when he said to “aim at the kid”
3) *after* that point he became much less severe. He arrested howzer instead of killing him, he was giving the bad batch chances and clearly did not want to kill them now- even tho he tried to before.
5:55 The guy in the black and yellow armour is Scorch from the game Star Wars Republic Commandos
And the guys with blue visors are Clone Commandos basically special forces clones
7:31: GONK droids, otherwise known as trash cans to us, are power droids
Hey, Holden and Jen! Typical lack of recognition! Gregor in "War Mantle" is the amnesiac clone from the D-Squad arc of "Clone Wars" who seemingly sacrificed himself to effect their escape from Abafar! He also appears in "Rebels" with Wolffe and Rex on that tank as an old veteran. He finally buys it in "Rebels" Season 4 on Lothal.
The Clone Commando was Scorch from the "Republic Commando" video game who had a cameo in "Clone Wars" transporting the Jedi who were slaughtered by Savage Opress.
The Kamino droid was AZI-3 who helped Fives evade capture and convince Shaak Ti about the inhibitor chips.
Lama Su was the Kaminoan Prime Minister from the movies.
Nala Se was the Kaminoan scientist who heroically stayed at her post on the medical station being attacked by the 'Malevolence' in Season 1 of "Clone Wars" and who underhandedly drugged Fives to keep the truth about the chips from coming out in Season 5 of "Clone Wars".
You both have fantastic memories!
7:25 GNK 'Gonk' droids are power droids, meant for providing power like a backup generator. They feature legs for limited mobility without having to be moved by the user constantly, and basic AI to perform rudimentary tasks.
That first episode really showed that there's still a disparity between clones and storm troopers. Both the Batch and the Imperial Clone Commandoes clearly outclass the normal troopers.
The Commando with yellow and black markings is named 'Scorch' and he's part of Delta Squad (Scorch, Sev, Fixer and Boss) -- a Special Operations unit within the GAR. And yeah, the 'blue visor guys' are Republic Clone Commandos -- special forces type soldiers that are also clones. The non blue visors are known as the Proto-TK Stormtroopers--experimental prototype armor for their new human recruit replacements for the Kaminoan's clone soldiers. Later on in the timeline, we'll see the iconic, standard, classic OG TK Stormtroopers that we all know and love from the final scene of TCW, Original Trilogy, Andor, The Mandalorian and so on.
Fun Fact: This is Captain Gregor. The yellow Clone Commando we saw waaay back during the D-Squad arc in S5 of TCW with that funny frog, Colonel Gascon. Ever since the return of Rex, The Bad Batch has been, much like the Infinity Stones of the MCU, steadily gathering the original 3 clones we saw later on in the timeline in Captain Rex's AT-TE during Rebels: Wolffe, Gregor and Rex ol' boy. Can't wait for them all to be fully reunited before the end of TBB!! ;))
Crosshair doesn't show up as much in the first half of season 2, but when he does it is JUICY. Season 2 has some weak-ish episodes (depending on who you ask). However, the high points of the show are REALLY GOOD and make up for it.
A few fun facts about War-Mantle: the armor of the TK Troopers is basically a direct adaptation of Ralph Macquarrie's original concept art for the Stormtrooper armor for A New Hope. Also, that one Clone Commando with yellow and grey markings on his armor (who took about five stun blasts before going down) is Scorch, one of the Commandos from Delta Squad (the Commando Squad you play as in Star Wars: Republic Commando and also the squad who brought those dead Jedi back to the Temple during the Nightsister Arc)
The clones you guys saw with a blue visor and bulky armor are called clone commandos wont blame you they've only made small appearances throughout star wars but they're basically the elite of the clone troopers and are one man armies just some clarification they're not all normal people alot of clones are still around they're still being slowly phased out
Edit: Yes gonk droids are power droids
Clone Commando Gregor, survivor of a massive explosion while covering the "D" Squad from the Clone Wars while they escaped to complete their mission.
Ironically some of the best episodes of S2 doesn’t even contain the Bad Batch at all. Was kinda running joke that when it focused on something other than them was really great stories.
the outpost is peak
The VA for admiral rampart also plays a character in Jedi survivor, minus the British accent!
That's why it sounds familiar
And he was imperial pilot Grey in the game Squadrons. Noshir Dalal is becoming the new Sam Witwer.
Kamino's destruction is up there with some of the saddest moments of Star Wars. And it wouldn't be sad if Clone Wars hadn't done the work to make us care about these people.
The fact that I am tearing up at the destruction of the facility that produced the beings that effectively destroyed the Jedi and brought the galaxy under Imperial control says something. I stand by that the clones have it the worst out of any group in Star Wars, even worse than the Jedi
The colors and armor don't always necessarily dictate rank. If you remember in TCW, we saw a multitude of differently armored & colored clones all throughout the show and most of them were still privates, with few being Lieutenants, Corporals, Captains, Marshal Commanders and so on. There are certain types of armor given to clones with certain ranks, such as the built-in helmet visors and/or gowns and pauldrons given to clones like Cody, Rex, Fox, Doom, Thorn, etc, but overall, most colors and armor don't really mean much other than to encourage creativity and individuality among the clones. The clones you still see with colors in The Bad Batch have simply been authorized to retain their original colors from the war, for what reason I do not know. But the Empire seems okay with that for certain clones, while stripping away the colors of most their other clones, even Cody--the highest ranking clone trooper of the Republic. Only a few Marshal Commanders existed during the Clone War, and Cody was one of them, yet he lost his colors during the reign of the Empire and instead had all of his orange stripes replaced with grey stripes.
14:28 I dont care it is one of the best Star Wars moments ever
Omg I can’t wait to see what you think of season two! I think overall it’s not as solid as the first time (it’s a lot fluffier, but I loved it for that) but some of the episodes hit SO HARD. Especially the Crosshair ones.
I've never really believed that Crosshair got his chip removed. There have been moments in episodes where he had the same headache behavior that Wrecker did when his chip was trying to control him. I think they reprogrammed Crosshair's chip back in the early episodes to make him think that it got taken out.
I absolutely love you guys watching this show. Hope you love the next season and the finale of the next season!❤
5:57: Let’s go SCORCH!!!
The blue visor guys are clone commandos, one of them with yellow and grey add ons to armour is Scorch from Republic Commando game.
No comments on the incredible music in these episodes? Including the use of not only the Bad Batch theme but the original Kamino theme from Attack of the Clones.
Oh season 2 will blow u away trust me it feels empathy
Every time I see Hunter, I think about Solid Snake
x2
Watching this react vid made me emotional all over again. I could full my heart being tugged toward the screen. And omg I will never get over HOW GOOD this finale looks! Some of the best animation I’ve seen. And the sound design!!!
I believe that Crosshair's chip was removed in episode 1 when the bad batch was in the cell but he was in the mri machine or whatever
I actually had a tear when kamino fell. It was sad to watch.
"HE cannot change that." Uggghhhhhh......
Can’t wait for you to start season 2
My man Scorch, i hope we see the others soon
War-Mantle was one of the files that Jyn Erso read out loud when she was looking for Project Stardust in Rogue One
Really I didn't know that, I gotta watch that scene again
Didn't have much interest or excitement for Bad Batch but it turned out amazing. Season 2 is even better!
Awesome reaction finales
Love your wife’s hair look beautiful
Those tougher clones are commandos think the special operators of clones
Great reactions!! I’ve watched the first season so many times already and will probably watch season two for a fifth time soon. I just love these guys so much! Can’t wait for you guys to watch Season 2! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
The Clone that isn't quite right is Gregor. The was in Clone Wars and Rebels.
So the high tech, blue visor troopers are the Clone Commandos,, they're Clone Special Forces. Think the Navy Seal of Star Wars
So Disney has kind of retcon the Kamino civil war. Originally there was a huge battle between the Empire and the Kaminoians
it's not a retcon, george never really considered the eu canon, besides there might still be a clone-empire war
@@dankerbell sorry I was thinking about the original battlefront 2
In legends The only clones around that I could remember were vaders Fist the 501st legion still had clones serving under vader and some died off in first Death Star explosion.
And this was one of my favorite episodes seeing Gregor again and one of my favorite demolition experts Scorch from Republic Commando game and hurt a bit seeing kamino facilities get destroyed lot of us grew up with this location in stars wars from the movies games comics for long time
Just because Cross Hair said he got his chipped removed, doesn’t mean he did. That’s why Hunter was checking for a surgery scar but it was just the burn scar from the engine. So we really don’t know if it was removed or not
It was removed.
@@willfanofmanyii3751 We still don't know that for a fact
@@dylanperryman8003 The writers confirmed it, so yes.
Tellin you, season two… ooooooooo
Season 2 is awesome. You should do a Season 2 trailer reaction.
30:17: Agreed. I never understand the hardmans logic when it comes to “childish” behavior. They’re all kids. They’re learning
Maaaaaan no one says it but Holden’s Barber is pretty much A GOD. His style and fade are pretty much the stuff of legends lol. I’ve never gotten a drop fade that crispy IN LIFE and he casually showing up to reaction videos CHOPPED
I think when the engine blew up in crosshairs face it disabled the chip
War - Mantle easy best episode of the season so many arcs and the music is Classic Star Wars literally
Battlefront 2 is so fire
Hello!!!
Holden, please look for her to play. Star Wars Republic commando’s.. those are Republic commando us with the blue visor. They are the best of the best they are greater than a Troopers. They are the most heavily armed and trained clones of the entire clone army they are probably the best individual units in terms of skill incapability, right under clone force, 99. They were first introduced in that game on Xbox and me a brief cameo in corn wars, season three the whole commando that you see in this episode is actually one of the characters from that game. Please play it.
As for armor and rank, that’s non-material Clone equipment is based on the individual training that was delivered to them some cones out better for recon. Others are more tune for ground infantry. All of them have the same basi instinct, capabilities, motor functions, you name it, but there is such thing as advanced training for clones, because the army needs superior units for specific kinds of missions. These include the advanced recon commandos or arc troopers the clone, commandos, aquatic recon, troopers space troopers and apparently it doesn’t show more from different video games, comic books, and novels that I have not mentioned.
I highly recommend you guys watch the movie (Bleed For This) it’s based on a true story starring Miles Teller
I would love to see you guys play battlefront 2
V wings baby
How long are you guys gonna make us wait for RRR ?
Chill, they will get to it
@@-its_your_boy- it's been too long bro
7:11: you should have paid more attention in the clone wars. Then you’d remember every unit color. Every rank designator.
Love The Bad Batch. Not sure about your reaction. To negative for me. Lots of hate on characters.
