It is 2023 and I am learning Dota 2 (I know I'm late af). Tried to pick it up since 3 years but no one was there to teach me. Finally found this series. I'm having fun. Thank you.
@@Zfcx11 I definitely was, friend. I picked up Dota 2 when I didn't feel like gaming anymore and as I said before, I wanted to learn it since a long time. These videos are very helpful. I hope they help you as well.
I just started learning Dota 3 days ago and a friend told me your guides were the best. He has yet to be proven wrong :) Do you think you could make a mid lane or lanes guide in general? If you need another idea, a guide on macro and micro management would be great also! Thanks for the great guides and gameplay.
Thanks for the kind words! I'll pass them to Purge. As for lanes, the first episode of the main learndota series will cover lanes. The basics series will go on for another 3 weeks then we start on that. In the meantime you could check out the episodes we did with Day9. They are pretty long, as they include a lot of basic stuff and quite a bit of banter, but they're also very entertaining in my opinion. Here's a playlist, feel free to skip back and forth to the points you find interesting: th-cam.com/video/8AyrC5Ki31c/w-d-xo.html -Seatech
man this helps so much, i tried getting into dota back in wc3 and even after hundreds of games i never understood. thanks for the guide this is amazing, great points for someone to start learning on their own as well which i prefer to do rather than rely 100% on guides. thanks
A big note for ultimate abilities might be mana cost, on some hero's like skywrath mage the mana cost becomes so high its not even worth the relatively minor damage increase.
I just recently started playing dota2 and your guide from episode 1 to this latest are very helpful for us total noob. I do not know who you are YET tho lol But i bet u are a pro player. Thank you
Jas he's a pro in dota and is also a caster in some matches, he even appeares as one of the guests in the dota 2 tournament last year And finally almost every pro guy at dota knows him
He's not a pro player what are you on about. He makes a living out of Dota through youtube, twitch streaming, and through contract work that he gets from Valve when he's invited to do analyst/commentary in tournaments. There are literally 1000s of people better than him (I'm not including myself to make that clear), but he is eloquent and he's been producing dota content for almost a decade now. You're right, he's the perfect guy to teach you through your first.... 500-1000 games of dota. After that, there are other content creators who cater more for intermediate/advanced dota players.
Damn...man I have to remember these many things :D i have started playing Dota just today... on friends Recommendation... and coming from CS:GO and R6 Background man this game really is on Another Level :D i Loved it and i Regret missing it out for Years :D btw Love your Videos Man...
Dear Purge I’ve been playing DotA for a little over 1,000 hour but I still am having problems with map awareness. I was wondering if you could make a video on it. Thank you for your time.
Bro your Guide is awesone. Im new to dota can u make a Guide where u Cover the diffrence between other mobas and dota? Played already 9 seasons in league but cant Improve in dota
If anyone does have that question, please ask it here and I'll answer it as well as consider it for future episodes :) Both me and Purge have been playing for a lot of years, so it can be hard sometimes to enter the mindset of a new player. -Seatech
I think the teaching format is such that the videos are concise theories, and it will take digesting the relevant videos and also playing some games to link them together anyway. For example someone watching the earlier vid might have further questions on skill points that they might find out some answers to by playing the game such as levels grant experience. But they might not have thought about point efficiency covered in this video. You shouldn't be able to understand the entire game from theoretical lessons alone.
Hey sorry about that. I think audio levels has been my biggest weakness as an editor on the channel. I feel like the music level is fine until I start turning up the volume, then it kind of overtakes Purge's voice. His microphone levels are usually really low, and can't turn it up too much or his voice loses its smoothness. I'll try lowering the music volume further in the future though, or select songs with less edges. -Seatech
Great series, Purge. One quick piece of criticism: When working on camera, especially when you're directly talking to the camera, try to minimize blinking.

Awesome, Thanks!
Where can I find this dota 3 you speak of? Is it as difficult as dota 2?/s
:P I guess a comma would have been appropriate.
purge is an under-rated youtuber 💔💔

Thank u for your vids! I'm tryna refresh my knowledge in playing dota 2 since it's been 3 years since i last played hehe
A big note for ultimate abilities might be mana cost, on some hero's like skywrath mage the mana cost becomes so high its not even worth the relatively minor damage increase.
Crystal maiden is another example, I sometimes skip even the first level of the ultimate until I get more mana pool.
I'm wondering why you get only 1k likes, this is the best and most detailed video ever. Thank you for making this video and keep up the good work
Thank you SO MUCH for making this guide! I'm really new to Dota, but this series has been helping me so, so much!
the best dota analyst in youtube! keep it up purge

To be fair he's an ex pro player
Pro as in beyond average player if you have anything against calling him good at the game
Well he did play in Zephr, alongside Blitz

Love the real life ad placements.
I still remember the day where there is no skill tree
Stats!
i love you purge from india
If you look at this video like a newbie at dota there are times you'll pause the video and ask yourself, do i undertand?
If anyone does have that question, please ask it here and I'll answer it as well as consider it for future episodes :)
Both me and Purge have been playing for a lot of years, so it can be hard sometimes to enter the mindset of a new player.

Thanks
me personally after watching this video i'll stick with windranger... easiest hero to play with

You shouldn't be able to understand the entire game from theoretical lessons alone.
Every new player should just try to fumble through the game until they feel like quitting, and then watch all your guides for a second wind.
Is this binging with babish basics with babish series?
Nooks first. Other stuff later. Helps in most every hero.
Wow, Nice Editing Bro, i hope u share "how to make it" video learn
I never consider the mana pool of the heroes for picking the skill point ._.
Are you allowed to drink the red bulll, or no?
The music's volume is pretty loud Mr. Purge

Try sidechaining the music to his voice to make it stand out more. Thanks for your work!
Your voice tho 🙊😁😁♥️♥️
