„I do not control her.“ is such an importent sentence. This is why i fell in love with Frenchie. And I realy enjoy to watch Kimikos and Frenchies relationship grow. It‘s so sensitive!
Frenchie and Kimiko's story is needed in a show full of mostly negative or dysfunctional relationships. They bring great strength to the show. They empathize with one another, that's carried on into season 2. I appreciate the in depth breakdown of the characters. I do love them. 😊
Agree 100%, this ship is so wholesome and it makes me feel so soft inside! ♥️♥️ They are the heart and soul of that show! Frenchie had the best character growth of all the main cast. I love it!

9:16 that scene had me _screaming_ because I was *sure* the Frenchie was going to die. I mean, IT'S THE BOYS. Everyone gets fucked, and Frenchie and Kimiko's relationship up to that point was some of the most wholesome romance I've seen in a long time. I am SO THANKFUL that it didn't end there!! I am however, horribly paranoid and dreading whatever they're gonna do to these two, because no one can be happy, ever, at least not for too long. But honeslty... I might just stop watching if Frenchie Dies. Kimiko is great too, but Frenchie is her line of communication to the boys so we sorta lose both of them if Frenchie is killed. GOD That's gonna suck. I haven't read the comics so I have no idea what his fate, but I hear he is already different enough from the comic so I don't even know if he'd follow the same route anyway. Tomer Kapon is so stinking tender and charming and warm in this it's insanity.
I so agree, and I am still deep in the GOT trauma, therefore so dreaded for the worst to unfold. Even worse than getting them killed, which is having them go down the similar path of Brienne-Jaime and Arya-Gendry, literally "screwing" up the powerful, compelling relationships which they nurtured season after season - Frenchie & Kimiko are meant to be together, and that doesn't mean in bed. There is something more special and tenderer between them than a banal, ordinary relationship. If they are to perish arm in arm, so be it. But plz at the very end of the series. Let us swoon over this sweet ship as long as possible!
Welp I hate to be bringer of bad news but its inevitable *spoilers* In the comics Butcher decides that he wants to kill everyone with compound V in their systems and the rest of the boys decide to stop him knowing this he leads frenchie and kimiko into a trap and blows them up
I’m glad people are talking about this pair. And yes they are the most wholesome pairing in the entire series. I hope to get around making my own video essay of them as well
I knew nothing of the comic prior to this show, and I had this Red Shirt vibe from Frenchie, as if he'd be disposed of by some terrible supe-related encounter. I was super surprised to see that he ended up being more of the heart of Butcher's little entourage, even more so than Huey.
KaiserShep I would have been livid if that had been what happened to him. 😆 Butcher and Hughie both have similar arcs of exploring the darker sides of themselves involving anger, vengeance, etc. but Frenchie’s arc is more so about revealing his heart. I love that. 😊🎬✨
Frenchie does give the impression of the typical cast, a total punk in the beginning, then things evolve in the way that the viewers would grow a soft spot for him and come to love him, then gets killed off in the end. Well the series so far is nothing but typical - so I am hoping the series will give him - and Kimiko a happy ending, ideally together.

Well in the comics (spoilers) before going kaput frenchie tells the female "I love you" so I'd say their relationship is a bit more complicated than just father-daughter
no one actually knows what they are in the comics and everyone says something different. i've never heard anyone interpret them as "father/daughter" and the comics have been out for so long. they're just not a romantic duo in the comics. people only speculated kimiko's age cause she's short.
I really love how Frenchie and Kimiko feel like a thesis statement for the show. Like strip down all the narrative and it's "Empathy and Love will Heal, and by Healing is The Theme" kind of? I don't know if I worded it right, but I feel like they're so important to conveying the message.

10:22 I'm not sure they're "ship" material. From the way she looks, Kimiko is, I'd guess, in her late teens/early-to-mid 20s? And Frenchie is, what, in his late 20s/early 30s? I mean, he did kiss Kimiko once, but he was as high as a rocket flying to Mars. Frenchie wasn't thinking straight. What I see between them doesn't seem very platonic to me. It's more like a loving brother-sister bond. Maybe I'm misreading their relationship, and perhaps the comics completely debunk my theories; Frenchie and Kimiko could be closer in age than I thought. However, this gut feeling is gnawing at me. *Edit* I just remembered Frenchie already has a girl! Cherie! Ship sunk. Or is it? Who knows? Shippers will ship anyway.
