Thank you so much. When I was in school I was once awarded the Drama prize for my performance in The Merchant of Venice. The newspaper review of the play described me as having "...a sound expressive voice" it's something I've never forgotten although if was 60 years ago. Hi, it was me who suggested the handcream and glue but I've never mixed black with silver before and it made for a fantastic metal colour.I always use my finger to apply it as much cleaner in long run than a tool, you can apply less and it easily wipes off your finger.Less is more a bit like gilding wax itself .I tend to use up my very cheap mica powders and save my more expensive Lucious powders and mica powders work just as well. I love your card beautiful as always and thankyou so much for teaching me about how you add dimension, stacking and snipping the die cuts makes a huge difference I've now found x

Hi Christine 😊 I only found your Channel around 6 weeks ago, but I LOVE your videos - they are my 'go to' now 😍 Remember though..... you can't be a true Crafter without 'mucky' hands!!! 😂💝xxx
This was a great video! I use 1.5 parts Aileen's Clear Gel Tacky Glue and 1 part mica, pearl powder or eye shadow to "gild" cards, metal embellishments, etc. (A small amount applied with my finger and then buff.) I'm going to add hand cream next time to see if it works any differently. Love the suggestion! And I think the watering can with flowers is superb!!! Thanks so much for the inspiration! ❤
Long time viewer here from the US, as I developed bad tremors 15 or so years ago now. At any rate, as this is - apparently - a progressive neurological disorder, my doctors are on my case constantly to use my hands every day in creative pursuits so as to preserve whatever function I have left. Card making is one of my hobbies, as I can incorporate drawing, painting and so many other things into it. Yet ideas seem to abound the world over on ways to make your own finishing supplies for things like gilding wax, raised drops, and the like. One of my favorites combines the gel-type Aileen's Tacky glue, and the really cheap dollar store eye shadows sold in loose powder form in a tiny pot.
Good video. Love the galvanize bucket. I hope your hand improves. After having 3 years of Carpal Tunnel pain I had the surgery last May. Every so often I have issues in the same area of my hand on the outside of the thumb. I ice it. About pinafores. Loved making them to wear over granny style dresses I made to wear back in the 70's. Here in the U S they are jumper style aprons that tie in the back. At least it's how I made mine.
The things you call jumpers are what we call pinafore dresses, as they look like a pinafore from the front but are a complete dress. It's strange how different words for the same thing have evolved!😊😊😊
This turned out so well! Beautiful card. I enjoyed your talking about language and how those of us in different places speak differently. I live in the US, in Texas. Years ago my husband was working with several fellows from Scotland. We were all at a party and the Scots were telling stories, even though they were speaking English we couldn’t understand a thing they said! More recently we were lucky enough to visit Australia and we had a discussion with several locals about how different our versions of English are, quite an interesting topic of conversation! I enjoy your videos immensely 💕
Well I live in a neighbouring country and sometimes i have difficulty understanding a strong Scottish accent🤣 There are some TH-camrs whose channels I can't watch because the accent grates too much ... Silly isn't it! I guess I'm a grumpy old woman! I'm glad you liked my cards and my videos!😊
Another lovely card! I’m anxious to learn if the new “ concoction” stays “wet” to re-use or if the glue dries out over time. I think it’s an excellent idea & I really hope it works for the long term.
We do have a site for the French company in Australia, but I wasn't sure which product to purchase. I will be trying this idea. Thanks. Love your card.

Thank you for trying out this DIY gilding”wax”! Beautiful card! I’m assuming the indigoblu powders are mica powders? While a bit expensive, the Sweet petunia glue press has been a big help with decreasing hand pain, as well as the cheaper precision tip 1 oz plastic bottles (Amazon) which are much softer plastic and easier to squeeze. It is interesting to see how the same words are used to describe different things depending on the country - in the US it’s considered crude to say you need the toilet, and we use the word bathroom which is UK’s room with a bath tub. And sprinkler head for rose, chef apron for pinny, sweater for jumper, jumper is a pinafore dress.
Dear Christine, I have just read through the below comments thinking that someone may have asked where your little Pebble stamp came from - would love to know? But also wanted to echo everyone’s sentiments regarding their enjoyment of your videos. I am so happy I found you on TH-cam (I have been a subscriber for many months and my subscription has held….it didn’t disappear - PHEW!). Your cards are always beautiful, classy, fun and your tuition is generous with techniques! Thank you. 😊
What a generous comment Catherine, I'm delighted that you enjoy my videos. The little pebbles come from a watercolor stamp set by Art Impressions..I'm really mad because yesterday I lost the stamp from that set with the tiny clump of grass on. 🙁

I remembered a viewer suggesting this mix, but have to say I didn't understand how it would work. I still don't, but it worked beautifully! Such a pretty card, love the way the watering can came out. I do love all your words for things differ so much from ours here in the States. So fun learning what you call things! Hugs, Brenda
My understanding you need not to use mineral oil if it is in the furniture wax. If coloring you need a binder and clear Elmers Glue is easier to use than white glue.
Love the effect on the watering can. I have a tin of hard floor wax but i think the smell would be prohibitive. Quite strong whilst in the can. Perhaps I'll stay with glue and hand cream. Brilliant ... who would have thunk it! 😁 Another lovely card Christine. You have an incredible eye. ♥️
Another splendid technique and tip! That watering can is lovely! Hope your hand stops hurting. I had carpal tunnel in my hands for years and finally had the surgery about 4 years ago, but I still have the numbness in my fingertips cause I left it go to long. Thank goodness we have lots of tools to use in our crafting!
The English language can be quite difficult to learn as we have two, to and too much. We sow what we reap and the pig is a sow. We bow down and tie a bow. Lovely card and interesting conversation to boot. Ta ta for now
Looks gorgeous, and great idea! I was looking for a yellow version of not gilding wax, but polish, wh8ch is what I do all my gilding with, so I'm going to give that a try, thanks, and to your friend that mentioned it ❤
Great card, and thanks for showing how to put glue and hand cream together to use with powders to make a glaze. I do call the head a sprinkler head but I have received a Haws watering can and they called it a rose. I also figured out the jumper meant sweater from watch other crafters make a card with a “jumper” on it. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful card! Love that you experiment for us. Will definitely try this. I just call it a sprinkler head. But when I searched that on Amazon, rose head did come up. So perhaps other Americans do call it a rose. Learned a new term.
Love your giggles about your ‘pinnie’! Never heard that one and loved your explanations of our different names for clothing. Never heard the spout of the watering can called a rose! See how fun it is to listen to you?!? But I love how you made this and give it a go every time! Bless your beautiful spirit!❤
Christine, Could you please give me the measurements of the narrow/thin foam tape you use from “sticks two” I love that the foam doesn’t raise anything too much on my cards. I’ve seen the rolls but don’t want to purchase the incorrect ones. Thank you, Lois 3:533:59
Well, the Watering Can turned out great, especially with the rust effect. That was an excellent tip regarding using glue and hand cream as a binder. Lovely card Christine, as always. I have osteoarthritis and both the upper joints of my thumbs are really painful, especially when trying to shape flower petals, so I know how you feel. Thank you for another excellent video. 🦋xxx
A brilliant idea from the viewer about the DIY gilding wax. Did you buff it up at all Christine? Your finished card was really beautiful and useful for so many occasions. Thank you so much xx
Thanks for sharing this experiment. The watering can is fabulous. I will have to give it a try. I think I might try some of my spray furniture polish and mica powder as well.
I use the needle that came with the Bearly glue because I leave my cap off way to often. Wonderful card Christine, I am so happy the experiment worked. I have my glue and hand cream right here, I just have to decide which mica powder to try first! Thank you as always!!
Love this card and the gilding looks great! I have arthritis in my thumb as well so I now decant glues into the small fine tip bottles from Woodware as they are thin walled, so much easier to squeeze and very easy to control for intricate die cuts. They do have a separate pin, though, so you have the issue of getting it back into the fine tip before it dries up😂
Great experiment, Christine. I love how different the same two languages are. Not just the words but also pronunciation. Occasionally, it will take me a bit to figure out what is being said and I think about it and translate to how I say it. It's actually fun and enlightening. Another beautiful card. Only some of my clear stamps stain (seemingly for no reason sometimes). Some stain as soon as I use them and some over time. Unfortunately, they're not all created equal. I do prefer rubber stamps even though you can't see the image when you stamp, I just figure that's what my stamping platform is for and I have one rather large one that I can actually add stamps to and move the card around instead of replacing the stamps so I use scrap paper to arrange to my liking first. Did I mention I adore how this card turned out?
Watched this video sitting in the car with a brew whilst granddaughter Millie finished her nap. I loved it when you got excited after using your finger to smooth the paste on the watering can. I also suffer with the exact same part of my hand getting painful and it’s so debilitating. As always I loved your card ❤
QUESTION, CHRISSY … I noticed your GREEN MARKER is rather dry. Has anyone ever suggested to you to stand the tip of DRY Alcohol Markers, b r i e f l y, in a tube (I used a slightly larger pill bottle) with just a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol in the bottom? The premise, as I understand it, is to rehydrate the thing, “for emergency use”, just til the marker can be replaced or re-inked. I’ve done it once, with a Sharpie, with somewhat less than ideal results, but I was trying to bring back the deep black that it was, but I’m sure I’d probably have had better results with a lighter colored one. Anyway … Be well!
Beautiful card and love the effect you got on the watering can and yes we call it a rose here in Australia too - well I do anyway 😂 That was a really interesting experiment which turned out fantastically. Sorry to hear about your thumb, sounds very painful, hope it feels better soon. Hope you manage to unclog your glue too. Thanks Christine and have a lovely day. Hugs x
Well I think your DIY gilding wax worked well and the added brown Luscious Powder in places does age the can and the finish is perfect Chrissie. Such pretty purple flowers in the can the and the little stones you stamped ground it beautifully..I love the very apt sentiment too. x
It is amazing how different places saying different words but it means the same thing!! I am always looking for ways to make my own!! This was so very helpful!! Love your card!! Hope you hand starts feeling better soon!!
Fun to watch you experiment....AND the results were great! I have a large Sizzix watering can I might try this on! Enjoying all UK vs US English words...makes me smile!
Lovely card!!! I so enjoy watching you create. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I'm going to get out my glue, hand cream, and pigments to give it a try.
Hello Christine. Voilà encore une autre façon de créer d autres produits . Merci pour la vidéo et la réalisation de cette jolie carte . Bonne journée 👏👋👋

They do have a separate pin, though, so you have the issue of getting it back into the fine tip before it dries up😂
I think we each source what we need for our own particular circumstances. At least we have lots of choice ! Thanks Sue💜
Thank you so much, it's fun to have friends all over the world! Vive la difference!
Watched this video sitting in the car with a brew whilst granddaughter Millie finished her nap. I loved it when you got excited after using your finger to smooth the paste on the watering can. I also suffer with the exact same part of my hand getting painful and it’s so debilitating. As always I loved your card ❤
I can just picture you in the car... It reminds me of times past when looking after grandkids! Thanks for watching!💜
@@Chrissieannie it was a great way to spend the time 💕
I have that same problem with my thumb. It can be very painful.
This is very interesting and I’m going to try it!
Have fun💜💜💜
I love it!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you💜💜💜
Love it! I will have to try the hand cream with glue! TFS ❤
Please do!
Another one to love!!!
Thanks ❤️
Your viewer's home-made guilding wax suggestion was inspired! She should be very proud of herself 🤗❤️
It was fun, despite me getting a little messy !😀😀😀
@@Chrissieannie That's just an occupational hazard for crafters! 😉
@@kkrolf2782 I have added a little alcohol to dry markers just to keep them going! It works!😊😊😊
thanks for the technique- must try it- the card is just fabulous!!!!
Thanks so much!💜💜💜

Thanks so much for the lovely Easter card Jenn. I'm so glad you enjoyed this video 💜💜💜
Hugs x
Yep.. I concur… rose… Perth Western Australia.
Thanks so much😊😊😊
Gorgeous
😊😊😊
What a great idea. Good call from viewer. Lovely, lovely card.
Thanks so much!😊😊😊
Love the card tfs 😊
Thanks so much!
Interesting experiment. I thought the texture created with the sponge looked like the old galvanized cans my Grandad used to use!
It probably just goes to show how different effects can be achieved... As a little variety!😊😊😊
For me, cutting out dairy really helps when you have arthritis. Hope you feel better
That’s interesting… thank you💜💜💜
Well I think your DIY gilding wax worked well and the added brown Luscious Powder in places does age the can and the finish is perfect Chrissie. Such pretty purple flowers in the can the and the little stones you stamped ground it beautifully..I love the very apt sentiment too. x
Thanks as ever Pat😊
Just love how this turned out.
Thank You😊😊😊
It is amazing how different places saying different words but it means the same thing!! I am always looking for ways to make my own!! This was so very helpful!! Love your card!! Hope you hand starts feeling better soon!!

Lovely card!!! I so enjoy watching you create. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I'm going to get out my glue, hand cream, and pigments to give it a try.

Hello Christine, are pigment powders the same as mica powder?
They are very similar, often pigment powders contain more vibrant colour but don't necessarily have shimmer.
mica powders have shine
That was a Wonderful technique
And love the purple
Thank you so much! 💜
Hello Christine. Voilà encore une autre façon de créer d autres produits . Merci pour la vidéo et la réalisation de cette jolie carte . Bonne journée 👏👋👋
