Even if it doesn't have more functions or utility, it's pretty cool even just aesthetically. It lets you change your case without having to print images to put in a clear case or buy new cases. I wish it came for more phones too! I'll have to keep an eye on the brand, thank you for making this video
I heard the company is getting their cases ready for more iPhone models. They are a solution provider so if any major case manufacturers find this solution interesting, potentially there will be lots of different designs for different phones
I saw that some e-ink displays like those used as price tags can borrow the power they need from a phone's NFC. This being a case that's always in contact with a phone, it would be smart to have it work with NFC rather than with that little cable that seems to remain dangling at all times when disconnected. Is the lightning cable supposed to be plugged in at all times when the case is on the phone? If so, does this case allow for wireless charging to function?
I heard the company has developed some prototypes with NFC. For the version shown in the video, the cable needs to be plugged only when changing images. But there’s no good place to store the plug so I assume most users will just keep it plugged in. Yes you can still charge your phone wirelessly with this case on.
Can you use it as a viewing screen to take selfies? If you could, That would be a very popular item with a certain crowd.... Much higher quality selfies
Unavailable but the idea is cool. I wish I could only use the screen, cause I'm sure they are not gonna make one for my phone which is not iphone. The idea is cool, could use it even as keychain or back of id card
@@EReaderChannel unfortunately all I could find the tags which need a base setup to operate and also an account in the system to operate wireless functions. Still in search for Bluetooth ones
Interesting gadget. One suggestion though, you might want to increase the volume of microphone or speak louder. I have to set my Macbook volume to almost max to hear clearly 😅
not 100% compatible. still usable (like can charge the phone, or hold the phone to some extent) but the connection is less secure and magnets will affect the image.
They recently updated their product to be four-color eink. Maybe they will update their online store sometime soon. Try searching Reinkstone phone case in your marketplace

In Finland we had a coffee mug by paulig with e-ink display, it got the power from the heat of the coffee to change the picture with your phone

Yup. I know customizable eink cards are well available and used as name tags in many Chinese companies.

magsafe charging should be ok. magsafe attachments might be slightly affected (might not be as secure as naked iphone or thinner magsafe cases.
