the direct scientific correlation between having oily hair and feeling ugly makes more sense to me than gravity - that sh*t will break even the strongest soldiers
Back in highschool I complained so much to my therapist about the visceral effect that oily hair/oily face had on me that she gave me a mini dry shampoo and blotting pads as a present before I went off to college and I have to say that it was the most thoughtful gift I have ever received to this day
I NEEDED that little political chat rn I have never felt so pessimistic about humanity and it's comforting at least to know that its not just me. it's so daunting to be powerless in the face of objective evil, when they know what their doing is wrong and that they're untouchable. i feel like everything is awful but i know that some things are good, like you.

Literally was on the verge of tears cuz of college and I am feeling reborn as I eat a little snack and listen to Brit. Godspeed everyone and I love you all
Ok, Brittany - please for the love of god find a new doctor. What that doctor said about vitamins is absolutely not what the correct answer is. (Also, hi from a fellow Aggie + Texan 👍🏼)
Brittany, seriously what the heck. I felt so deeply connected with this episode because I'm literally going through almost the exact same shit with skin, hair, digestion and hormone issues to the point where everything's super bleak and dark at the moment. But to see you talk about this, I felt like "finally someone understands". I love love love you and your honesty with everything.
thank you for normalizing women’s health bestie. I just got diagnosed with PCOS last year and my periods and hormones are constantly out of whack and i feel like I’m going crazy. We’re here with you!
I was just diagnosed with PCOS too a couple months ago- i had never heard of it before and I didn’t realize it was common until i did some research. I’m here with you too🙌
I'm 16, every women in my family has had health issues surrounding reproductive organs. And I'm scared to go to the gyno, but I keep missing periods, they are painful, I get cramps and sickness 3 weeks a month. It's hell I'm not sure what to do
@@sophiewellman920 i’m 17 and i hear you. id say if you can afford it, do it. i was told if you’ve had your period for 5 years and it’s not every 35-40 days then you should make sure everything’s good. sending you love during this time🫶
Love It If We Made it also changed my brain chemistry when it came out. Matty expressed a helplessness and a feeling of being an optimist staring over the edge of nihilism in a way that really spoke to a lot of people during that time. I will always be grateful for the art he’s made even though I can’t support him now
sometimes when i feel particularly enraged trying to grapple with the reality of our orwellian society, i listen to the madison square garden performance of love it if we made it and i feel so wholly understood that i believe it’ll be okay. idk maybe that’s parasocial of me but the comfort i get after i listen to that song is so immense
Brittany is so fantastically smart while also being naturally so charismatic and funny, while also posing questions that incite serious conversations our country needs…I look forward to her episodes every week for the most well rounded source of entertainment I currently subscribe to. She immediately makes my day every time I hear her voice. I 🫶🏻 Brittany
just wanted to say something about you talking about women’s health. i stopped having my period almost two years ago and months go by and i get sicker. turns out i had a lot of tumors and cancer growing throughout my body. when you talked about who “i don’t want children but what if i do one day?” i started to cry because im so young and that option was taken away from me before i could even truly decide what i wanted in my future. but then as i’m crying like a baby over a simple comment you made you told the joke about wrapping up the tubes like a hose on the wall. you make me so happy when i’m in dark places, and i know you’re a normal (debatable) human being, but i want to thank you so much. i hope that everything went well with your doctors appointment and good luck and good energy💖💖💖
Brittany saying she feels ugly in this ep is literally going to be the death of me. She literally always looks SO cute, especially on the days she says she doesn’t think she is 😭😭
Dude yes. Having a uterus is like living in a psychological thriller with a roommate who seems cool sometimes but is one bad day from literally murdering you. You never know what it’s planning next
Every now and then she'll make you go into heat. Like, she's spiked your food with an aphrodisiac and made you fixate on a random man even though you're not attracted to men the other 90% of the month.... or maybe that's just me😂😂
I have never felt so validated by someone before. feeling intelligent enough to see the evil but knowing you are powerless in the grand scheme of things, that "funny feeling". the new and fleeting obsessions, the giving your all and for caring for a man who you dont even like and does nothing for you, the seasonal depression and the seemingly stupidity of it; i appreciate you a lot!
Oh my god her talking about feeling ugly … this woman has NO FUCKING IDEA how much I love and adore her she is constantly in sync with my phases and ideas and current events happening in my life she’s ALWAYS IN TUNE and ALWAYS understands
STRESS GIRL my freshman year in college I went 8 months w/o a period purely out of stress! wasnt on birth control, not sexually active, my prescription was literally to get a therapist LOL. im watching this rotting in bed on my period I feel you and you're valid
This happened me too, and my hair fell out. Bloodwork was fine. I did TMS and started going outside (I don't do that anymore now lol) and my health improved
When I first heard Love It If We Made It, I was a naïve girl in catholic school who simply absorbed the conservative ideals around me. Hearing the song, and hearing Matty's lyric breakdown on Genius, brought me to tears and caused a permanent shift in my beliefs. I couldn't believe I had been so ignorant to so much in the world, and this song was the first thing to ever "pop" that bubble I had been living in. Art is such a gift because of what it teaches us, and creating art and expressing ourselves is one of the first steps to actual change. Thank you Brittany for always sharing the art that you're interested in; even the smallest things can have a great impact.
A lot of what you're describing reminds me of my PCOS diagnosis. For some reason getting diagnosed wasn't scary for me at all because all of the symptoms I was having just seemed "normal" to me so finding out there was a name for it didn't really change much. And now that I know I have it, I've been able to manage my symptoms much better and am feeling significantly better! For anyone worried about it affecting your fertility, my ob/gyn told me that she has it and she got pregnant even while on birth control (Which was horrifying for someone who gets a lot of anxiety from the idea of getting pregnant, haha)
fellow pcos girlie here and i had irregular cycles for years until i went on bc. my mental health plummeted after some time being on birth control so i stopped taking it after three years and my cycle went back to being irregular for awhile, but now it’s somewhat on a schedule. i didnt even know what pcos really was until almost a year ago when my dermatologist told me to get tested!!
I am by no means a dr. But I do study medical science and also last year got diagnosed with PCOS. I had scarily long gaps between periods too and that was my main concern cause it was sending me into a coma worrying every month about whether I was just late on my period or whether I was pregnant. When I went to the dr they did a blood test for me as well and found Vitamin D deficiency too! Other symptoms of PCOS include but aren't limited to hirsutism, weight gain, insulin resistance, alopecia and skin issues as well as mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. In the country where I live only 2/3 criteria is required for a diagnosis of PCOS but for you, you may need an ultrasound to confirm. Regardless, the main "treatment" is weight loss. Which is obviously harder when you have PCOS. Common medications are weight loss drugs and diabetes management drugs. What I have found helps the most is a better diet and regular exercise. Obviously I could be totally wrong about what you are going through but I hope this helps! ❤
Yeah i really resonated with Brittany's experiences and i was diagnosed with PCOS last week. Not saying she has it, but she should definitely get to the bottom of it!
I have never laughed as hard as when Brittany kept saying “roach pu$$y”😭💀 please fearless leader, I’m just trying to finish my art final in peace😭let me be for one episode without laughing my ass off in the middle of class
I don’t know if this is inappropriate, but I’m somehow always douching when you drop an episode. thanks for graciously accompanying me on this otherwise solitary journey each week ❤
Go to the obgyn and get checked for PCOS. I didn’t get a period for three months and my hormones were so out of balance…ended up being pcos after they found polyps on my ovaries through the vaginal ultrasound. So many woman struggle with PCOS systems without even knowing.
Real! I had the exact same thing, no period for three months, and I still have the occasional super painful cyst :/ I get these wild hairs on my chin too lmfao
I agree everything she described is exactly what I experienced with PCOS! ❤❤ so many women I feel like have one of the 4 types and they always get misdiagnosed! Hoping this helps!!
I agree so deeply with this!!! I absolutely love listening to her break down the meaning behind art because it’s so so so interesting but my brain can’t do that on its own
You don’t know how deprived of broskiness I felt last week. I felt weak, frail, lifeless. But I woke up to this and was brought back to life 🙏🏼 this is my vitamin D
im always here to talk about periods and women's health. its so stigmatized, always has been. even when we think we've moved past being afraid and uncomfortable to talk about it, everyone still tiptoes around it and still shames women for having those conversations.
I remember melanie matines song moon magic was so monumental for me because it was the first song about periods edit: that I had heard personally from a fairly wellknown artist
Girl yes and can we start talking about menopause because I just talked to some family members and found out more about it and if that stuff just suddenly happened to me I would think I was going off the rails fr
@@ellaisboringas a trans guy who went thru that at like 21, holy hell if i didnt know that it was going to happen i would think i was slowly turning into a werewolf from teen wolf with those hot flashes
yeah my mother shames me for talking openly about my period around my little brother (as well as shames me for wearing crop tops or short shorts) and it makes me so mad. like leave me the fuck alone lol
All jokes and giggles aside, this is such an important podcast to listen to. The message and everything, I have never related more and it’s refreshing to hear someone of your beautiful influence to speak on it in such a real manner.
I also hope that women (ESPECIALLY) understand that sometimes doctors get it wrong! Brittany ended up being diagnosed with something that was completely unrelated to vitamins. Advocate for yourselves ladies! If something continues to not feel right, keep searching for a doctor who will take you and your struggles seriously.
Really needed this today. It's been so hard and confusing and conflicting to be a person, especially one with any empathy in these times. Hearing someone else voice so many of the same thoughts I'm having about it is so validating and helpful. I feel like right now we're all in this bizarre purgatory of knowing and acknowledging how insane everything is while simultaneously having to turn a blind eye and temporarily delude ourselves to be able to exist in our daily lives without going completely insane. But the duality of it is dizzying. I'm so thankful to know I'm not alone in how I feel 💜 love Broski nation
It’s so wild to me to see someone dissecting British culture as much as Brittany does. As an English woman who spends a lot of time watching Brittany and definitely has a parasocial relationship, it’s nice to see someone love the UK so much, or at least show so much positive interest. I spend a lot of time really hating my country and what it’s become but I’m reminded now and then that it’s not always so bad here.
the UK and US spend so much time hating on each other and themselves, like yeah we both have very big issues but both also have such cool cultures in them
The way I can say that Brittany saved my life?? Like?? There I am, one month late on my period and you share your story on going to the gyno and just needed to take multi gummies. I'm like, "No way. You're KIDDING." And I run to get some multivitamins from the store...girl, tell me why my period started the NEXT DAY. Brittany may not be the next holy mother, but she blessed me last Wednesday.
Talking about your period is so helpful and important. My biggest fear is getting pregnant and I have no knowledge about periods because they're so taboo. I never considered the fact that nutrient deficiency can mess with your period and hormones. That information saves me soooo much stress because my tubes are removed and I cannot get pregnant but I still get worried when my period is late. We need more people openly talking about these things.
okay but brittany i am so unbelievably relieved to hear you talk about the human experience at this time and i feel every single thing you said on such a deep level and it’s all so violently overwhelming so it’s nice to hear it be acknowledged by someone and in such an articulate way, i cannot express this enough
hi brittany!! i am a sam fender stan and this is my first time watching your podcast. i loved this episode so much!! sam has always been one of my favourite lyricists and i love how you dissected his lyrics one by one. both sam and the 1975 have a sense of awareness to their music, which i’ve always appreciated because it makes me think about my perspective on life and the world in general. the way that you speak about these songs was so well thought out. fingers crossed that sam releases some new music soon!! i cant wait to see what new social topics he’s going to talk about next.
I wasn’t diagnosed with my chronic conditions until I was 21 and I still think they only listened since I started having to use a wheelchair lol. For 6 years they told me I just had anxiety/panic disorder and now my condition has progressed to the point of being housebound LOL. love how they dismissed years of symptoms as “oh she’s just a stressed out girl” hahaha
the whole "just a stressed out girl" bit is often said as if our stress is inherently petty & irrelevant. couldn't possibly be anything serious, right? glad you're finally being acknowledged properly ❤
Get your cortisol tested too! I just got diagnosed with Cushing’s and it’s often misdiagnosed as PCOS. It’s pretty rare and usually takes people years to get diagnosed since doctors don’t listen to women
not even kidding this podcast is what gives me any sense of normalcy and sanity. your humor and the way you talk is EXACTLY like me and the things u say is how my brain works like i love you so so much and i appreciate your content thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I appreciate how you take lyrics you’re passionate about and read them in your slam poetry voice, despite the different vibes of the different songs, you said THESE WORDS WILL BE HEARD !
I’ve been in almost the same spot with my period. I cannot diagnose anyone. I am just a PCOS girly. Low vitamin D is actually a common marker for PCOS. With not having a period for 6 months I would really push to get an external and internal ultrasound to check for PCOS. Getting the diagnosis is scary and overwhelming but when they look inside they’ll measure your uterine lining and make sure it’s at a healthy thickness. This is important bc when you don’t get a period regularly and shed your lining it can build up and down the line, cause issues including uterine cancer. That’s why PCOS has a higher risk for that and not ovarian cancer because having polycystic ovaries doesn’t seem to lead to cancer of the ovaries. I know this is a lot, but it’s so so important to now what’s up and treat it properly ❤ It may just be a wonky cycle, but knowledge is power in health (coming from someone with extreme white coat phobia lol)
Came here to say PCOS! It affects such a large percentage of women and is not talked about enough. It has touched every aspect of my life. And a lot of these things sound just like me.
this comments section has to be the most i’ve heard about pcos since i got my diagnosis a couple months ago. my gyno said bc im young to just put me on birth control and i feel like that was all i was told. i had to do my own research as a KID, and the whole experience has just really turned me off of the gyno. Thanks for providing me with some comfort!!
@@kassandradupont1500I was on the pill for like a year and after that I just didnt see the benefits so I decided to go the natural way aka suplements. My advice is to go to go to a endocrinologist as well and yeah do your own research... For some reason pcos is overlooked and not seen as a big problem by doctors at least thats my experience.
@@mitzara25ask your doctor about using spironolactone. A dermatologist might be more likely to prescribe. It will block the excess androgens from pcos that cause both head hair loss AND excess body hair. Added bonus of reducing hormonal acne as well. I’m on month 5 of taking it and there is a noticeable difference in both body hair and my hairline is almost back to what it used to be a few years ago.
I had a really fun, chic, trendy mental breakdown yesterday and I gotta say - screaming at roach pussay for putting fragrance in facial products is the cathartic content I needed today.
Insuline resistance and PCOS would make a lot of sense for everything Brittany explained and I had many similar issues: balding, breaking out, weight fluctuation, oiliness, irregular periods. To determine TRUE insuline resistance you need extended glucose test, not just one blood vial drawn right in the morning
THE VITAMIN D IS SO RELATABLE! Had me sleeping 15 hours a day, losing weight rapidly, could barely stand up for 10 minutes. Thought I was dying, went to the urgent care “nothing wrong”, took the results to me regular doc, cried to her and begged for a test of any kind, she ran a more comprehensive blood panel and the ONLY thing wrong with me was extremely low vitamin D.
Its so true. I live in Oregon so its not sunny much except near end of spring and summer, so my therapist all year round makes me take it wnd its very helpful with my other psych meds Vitamin deficiency can make mental illness way worse, same with hormone imbalance.
its acc crazy. I cover up a lot all year around and my acne hates the sun, so in result i have dangerous low vitamin D levels. I have had chronic sinus infections and my doc told me i needed x3 the regular dosage of vitamin D for months before I would have normal levels and my immune system would regulate 😭
in a weird way this confirms i’m not crazy and there’s something rlly wrong bc no matter how many horse pill, break it in half to even swallow it vitamins i’ve been given, it’s never made it better.
I had the same thing happen! I have PCOS and I wasn't having a regular cycle AT ALL. I started taking vitamin d and then bam, a month later I had a normal cycle. It just needed jump started I guess
i have terrible depression and i told my doctor it wasnt a vit D issue but a full blown mental illness. He still ordered a test, and was astounded when he saw how high my vit D levels are. I went outside every day lol.
It depends on what birth control your on too. I am on Nexplanon and it stopped my period for almost 2 YEARS. My sister also has gaps in her period without birth control. I don't think any of us have a regular cycle honestly. No worries Broski! If you get nervous go see your OB, but I wouldn't stress. love Erica
Isn’t it wild to feel voiceless yet to speak to a sea of people who resonate and hear and agree, but none of us can do enough to change it, living in perpetuity until we look back and realize things change over centuries but never in the year and the moment that we needed it most?
brittany!!! I have similar problems with with my hormones/periods etc. and I was diagnosed with PCOS! sooo many symptoms of PCOS are are generalized but it’s different for everyone and it’s worth finding a good doctor who will listen to you and advocate for you!
Women’s health is such a complicated web with overlap you’d never expect and in places doctors have told me they don’t even fully understand yet. My cycle and endo diagnosis affects my dysautonomia symptoms so directly it’s insane. And I went through the years of “you’re crazy, you’re looking for drugs, it’s just stress”. Haha no it wasn’t!! So girls take care of yourself and advocate for yourself, thank you supreme leader for talking about it ❤️❤️❤️
Hey fellow spoonie! 🥄 Same here, I wish doctors understood the overlaps and interactions of multiple chronic illnesses better and didn’t accuse us of faking/drug seeking! Wishing all spoonies reading this a low-symptom great day 😊
Thank you Britney for talking about irregular periods, I have pcos and honestly can’t remember when the last time I had a period and I’ve been too embarrassed to say anything to anyone, even my mom
me and my dad had a chat once about how underrated Sam fenders lyricism is, this was sooooo nice to hear because although a lot of people over here love sam’s music, nobody hardly ever praises his ability to write. Love u Brittany !
Broski reports are my therapy sessions. The content is literally how I have inner conversations with myself in my head day to day. Also, shout out to the seasonal depression club !
I felt the title- just found out I’m dangerously low on iron NOT ANEMIC I’m just iron deficient from getting an abortion a few months ago! I’ve lowed 60% of my hair, been so fatigued I sleep 15 hours a day, dizzy out of my mind, sick with no fever, no Covid but my throat is swollen and I’m breathless. Turns out I’m 2 points away from an emergency blood transfusion all because I don’t eat enough iron and lost a lot of blood. Please regularly check on your minerals guys. U can have absolutely no idea and normalize sickness because u don’t wanna be “dramatic” and think somethings wrong. New Medicaid plans are out rn until December 31st so there’s still time to enroll in some insurance for the next year!! Pls take care of yourselves yall
Man its knowledge like this that anyone with a uterus should be taught/common knowledge, cause I cant imagine how many people experience the same thing you did and had no idea why after their procedure
Okay the having ugly days thing is actually called the luteal phase and it comes during the time between ovulation and your next period it has to do with your hormones fluctuating. Just felt the need to share that, much love 💕
Brittany omg im so relieved you posted this bc I relate to this so much. The same thing has happened to me a year ago. I was severely depressed and malnourished to the point where my entire skin literally was falling off and I hydrated it with la Roche it’s the worst thing ever. But on April i went to a dermatologist who helped me tons, im taking meds every day and literally use vaseline on my face and normal body cream on my body. Please take care of your body now early on otherwise it will have VERY bad side effects. Also it fucks up with your hormones and your mental health horribly during the time so pls take care x
broski I love you, someone said you can't hate yourself to the point of loving you. You can't bully yourself for real all the time and expect your brain to create new pathways of love, neuroscience doesn't work like that. But you CAN actually change the way you think, our brain has neuroplasticity, try neuroscience as an hyperfixation. It really helped me, I used to rot in bed for days and gave myself ten times more anxiety by procrastinating everything. It's a process, there will be hard days, but now the most are so happy, I have sincere friends and love all around me.
@@anyatrioli3734maybe Dr K (HealthyGamerGG) here on TH-cam? He covers neuroscience a lot of the time. Idk any other sources tho and would be interested. I’ve been trying to change the thoughts that enter my head by consciously repeating non-corny affirmations, instead of simply dismissing the negative thoughts like therapists have told me to do. That’s helped me slightly
brittany, if you have sensitive skin & the tacha rice powder works for u (bc same only “designer” id use), i recommend the dermalogica brand’s of rice powder as well. its cheaper if thats of ur care. also, its a weird ass texture, but lanolin (what many ppl use on nipples during breast feeding) is noncommodogenic (i cant spell i tried) and repairs and moisturizes skin sooo well. never breaks me out either. gl girly its rough having glass skin in this world lmfao
Finals week and seasonal depression hitting like a truck. Thank you for what you do, Brittany. I really appreciate all your hard work and being yourself online. Take care of yourself❤❤❤
As a fellow girl from Newcastle (geordie) the accent is certainly a blend of different things. For example we use some Scottish words: bairn (child), lass and lad (girl, boy). We also tend to drop the g so it would sound like: wantin, goin, takin etc. I would love to see you watch some Newcastle creators online and learn some geordie slang ♥
im so glad Brittany talks about politics, and voices something that EVERYONE has been feeling, the acute awareness of all the tragedy and you're smart enough to know that things need to change but feel so helpless and small compared to these people in suits making these decisions that are destroying lives. We arnt alone in this feeling, and our voices may be small but together they are loud, dont be silent in our upset and let us all be heard. im not as articulate as Brittany or these song lyrics in writing these feelings as im just writing my thoughts into a youtube comment but THANK YOU for speaking about it
I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycistic ovarian syndrome) and I was having the same symptoms as you. I went almost 2 years without a period and I was having so many hormonal struggles. I would definitely go to the gyno and ask about it!! Once I figured out I had PCOS and i learned more about it it changed my life.
Same here! I just left a separate comment heh I’ve been on birth control, metformin & spironolactone, and it’s worked fairly well. Unfortunately I’ve got some stubborn hirsutism that the spironolactone never really tackled, but my periods are considerably better when medicated phew I hope everyone here can find something that works well for them ❤
I got diagnosed about 5 years ago. Did a bunch of stuff, hated Metformin which made me have religious experiences in the bathroom😳 did birth control but it made me gain about 35 pounds, so stopped that. Now I’m on Spironolactone to suppress testosterone and on semiglutide compounded with b12 and I am finally have of a super regular period and losing the weight 🙌🏻
The sentiment starting at around 34:00.. being smart enough to understand but feeling helpless and having to remove yourself from it.. is SO real. Every other day we read about some other awful tragedy that's happening, groups of people being targeted, killed, discriminated against, etc. I can't think about it for too long, or it just makes me depressed. Look what humanity has done. It's so heartbreaking.
hey brittany !! i have pcos and experienced many of the same symptoms as you and was written off by two different doctors before i could finally get diagnosed. i've been in remission without meds for the past 6 months from lifestyle changes, vitamins, and eating a specific way but there are also meds that help too !! you deserve an answer and to feel better
I completely felt when you talked about the bombardment of data on the mind that is technology and social media. I’ve had a recent realization that I get anxious when not stimulated by music, podcasts, etc. and so I’m being intentional in sitting in silence and speaking to myself more. I think that’s a common experience for many people, especially young people today. Thanks for letting me know I’m not alone ❕❕💕
I’d suggest speaking with your gyno about the possibility of PCOS. I got diagnosed about a decade ago and it was a huge *oh, okay* moment and everything clicked heh Hope you start feeling better soon ❤

Brittany, firstly. LOVE YOU OUR FEARLESS LEADER❤ secondly, I’m a nurse from Perth, Western Aus, I’m 28 and have had gynae issues my whole life - pain, cramping, irregular periods, thinning hair, acne etc - got a pelvic ultrasound recently (referred by my doctor) and confirmed I have PCOS & adenomyosis . Would definitely recommend getting a pelvic ultrasound as well as more blood work, but the ultrasound is what will give you some definitive answers. All the best, sending your uterus and ovaries healthy vibes queen! Xx

Brittany cured my seasonal depression with a simple : "GROW UP!!!!!" honestly werk queen thank you so much for feeding the girlies today
thank you for normalizing women’s health bestie. I just got diagnosed with PCOS last year and my periods and hormones are constantly out of whack and i feel like I’m going crazy. We’re here with you!
I was just diagnosed with PCOS too a couple months ago- i had never heard of it before and I didn’t realize it was common until i did some research. I’m here with you too🙌
yep, that's a huuuge indicator in all of the stories i've heard
I'm 16, every women in my family has had health issues surrounding reproductive organs. And I'm scared to go to the gyno, but I keep missing periods, they are painful, I get cramps and sickness 3 weeks a month. It's hell I'm not sure what to do
@@sophiewellman920 i’m 17 and i hear you. id say if you can afford it, do it. i was told if you’ve had your period for 5 years and it’s not every 35-40 days then you should make sure everything’s good. sending you love during this time🫶
Been struggling with PCOS and endometriosis for years now. It’s really messed up my confidence 😭
Love It If We Made it also changed my brain chemistry when it came out. Matty expressed a helplessness and a feeling of being an optimist staring over the edge of nihilism in a way that really spoke to a lot of people during that time. I will always be grateful for the art he’s made even though I can’t support him now
Rina Sawayama has a really sick cover of it too
sometimes when i feel particularly enraged trying to grapple with the reality of our orwellian society, i listen to the madison square garden performance of love it if we made it and i feel so wholly understood that i believe it’ll be okay. idk maybe that’s parasocial of me but the comfort i get after i listen to that song is so immense

“I feel fat when I have oily hair” thank you for putting the words out there for me
Brittany is so fantastically smart while also being naturally so charismatic and funny, while also posing questions that incite serious conversations our country needs…I look forward to her episodes every week for the most well rounded source of entertainment I currently subscribe to. She immediately makes my day every time I hear her voice. I 🫶🏻 Brittany
she’s the perfect human being
just wanted to say something about you talking about women’s health. i stopped having my period almost two years ago and months go by and i get sicker. turns out i had a lot of tumors and cancer growing throughout my body. when you talked about who “i don’t want children but what if i do one day?” i started to cry because im so young and that option was taken away from me before i could even truly decide what i wanted in my future. but then as i’m crying like a baby over a simple comment you made you told the joke about wrapping up the tubes like a hose on the wall. you make me so happy when i’m in dark places, and i know you’re a normal (debatable) human being, but i want to thank you so much. i hope that everything went well with your doctors appointment and good luck and good energy💖💖💖
Brittany saying she feels ugly in this ep is literally going to be the death of me. She literally always looks SO cute, especially on the days she says she doesn’t think she is 😭😭
no fr because i’m growing out my hair just to do the hairstyle she has this episode. she is mother
NO BC I WAS LITERALLY THINKING ABOUT HOW PRETTY SHE LOOKED FORE SHE SAID THAT
Dude yes. Having a uterus is like living in a psychological thriller with a roommate who seems cool sometimes but is one bad day from literally murdering you. You never know what it’s planning next
Every now and then she'll make you go into heat. Like, she's spiked your food with an aphrodisiac and made you fixate on a random man even though you're not attracted to men the other 90% of the month.... or maybe that's just me😂😂
Thats why I put mine of pause indefinitely (taking pill without breaks), shes under house arrest until i have the patience to deal ahaha.
Lmao! You hit that right on the nail 💀
I am so glad that out of everyone, Britney’s voice was uplifted to a famous level. She is genuinely so smart and humbled. By far the best.
❤
The effect that If I Believe You had on my catholic upbringing guilt good god I was in shambles
Crying at your comment 😭 that’s so beautiful
A lot of what you're describing reminds me of my PCOS diagnosis. For some reason getting diagnosed wasn't scary for me at all because all of the symptoms I was having just seemed "normal" to me so finding out there was a name for it didn't really change much. And now that I know I have it, I've been able to manage my symptoms much better and am feeling significantly better! For anyone worried about it affecting your fertility, my ob/gyn told me that she has it and she got pregnant even while on birth control (Which was horrifying for someone who gets a lot of anxiety from the idea of getting pregnant, haha)
Yes, pcos girl here. I didn't have a cycle for 2 years.
fellow pcos girlie here and i had irregular cycles for years until i went on bc. my mental health plummeted after some time being on birth control so i stopped taking it after three years and my cycle went back to being irregular for awhile, but now it’s somewhat on a schedule. i didnt even know what pcos really was until almost a year ago when my dermatologist told me to get tested!!
@lenajay174 one of the last few ep she said she actually has it
I have never laughed as hard as when Brittany kept saying “roach pu$$y”😭💀 please fearless leader, I’m just trying to finish my art final in peace😭let me be for one episode without laughing my ass off in the middle of class
good luck on your art stuff! going through a similar thing rn lol
I don’t know if this is inappropriate, but I’m somehow always douching when you drop an episode. thanks for graciously accompanying me on this otherwise solitary journey each week ❤
LMFAOOOOO WEEKLY DOUCHING
im crying have a good douching session 🫶🏻
inspirational ❤️🩹
it’s 7 in the mornin….
Don’t attack me but douching is actually SO bad for u and ur vaginal health 😢
This is the first episode I’ve ever watched in full, and as a geordie it feels like a gift to hear Brit’s LOVE of newcastle accents and Sam Fender
Go to the obgyn and get checked for PCOS. I didn’t get a period for three months and my hormones were so out of balance…ended up being pcos after they found polyps on my ovaries through the vaginal ultrasound. So many woman struggle with PCOS systems without even knowing.
I was going to comment this! Fellow PCOS girlie here and I was diagnosed at 26. It was so helpful to get that diagnosis. ❤️
Same here! Diagnosed at 22. I don’t have a lot of the exterior symptoms so I didn’t consider it. Main thing for me was pain
Same!
I’m so jealous of how intensely and intelligently Brittany experiences music and just art in general
I agree so deeply with this!!! I absolutely love listening to her break down the meaning behind art because it’s so so so interesting but my brain can’t do that on its own
You're my inspo on unmasking my autism and embracing my authentic self. You are so entirely YOU ❤
You don’t know how deprived of broskiness I felt last week.
THIS
I remember melanie matines song moon magic was so monumental for me because it was the first song about periods edit: that I had heard personally from a fairly wellknown artist
The message and everything, I have never related more and it’s refreshing to hear someone of your beautiful influence to speak on it in such a real manner.
god i love waking up to watch brittany scream by herself it’s so healing
no one really talks openly about irregularities in their period, so i actually really appreciate you speaking on it
I also hope that women (ESPECIALLY) understand that sometimes doctors get it wrong! Brittany ended up being diagnosed with something that was completely unrelated to vitamins. Advocate for yourselves ladies! If something continues to not feel right, keep searching for a doctor who will take you and your struggles seriously.
29 with hypothyroidism and PCOS. Here for you and thank you for talking about what you’re going through, needed this so much
Really needed this today.
I love how you worded this. Perfectly encapsulates how I’m feeling.
It’s so wild to me to see someone dissecting British culture as much as Brittany does. As an English woman who spends a lot of time watching Brittany and definitely has a parasocial relationship, it’s nice to see someone love the UK so much, or at least show so much positive interest. I spend a lot of time really hating my country and what it’s become but I’m reminded now and then that it’s not always so bad here.
the UK and US spend so much time hating on each other and themselves, like yeah we both have very big issues but both also have such cool cultures in them
It's so annoying to watch Americans hate on the UK for literally no reason.
As a fellow Brit I agree it's almost like every day it gets worse but it is definitely nice to see some outside perspective admiration
would be a lot nicer is Bitchi Shoe Rack exited parliament
Oh my god yes - especially about Newcastle as a geordie it’s crazy I literally never hear newcastle discussed
For 6 years they told me I just had anxiety/panic disorder and now my condition has progressed to the point of being housebound LOL. love how they dismissed years of symptoms as “oh she’s just a stressed out girl” hahaha
dealing with something similar sending so much love to you for your wellness, whatever that means to you, going forward! fuck chronic illness
Me toooo!! It's dumb that this is a universal experience. You got this🫡
the whole "just a stressed out girl" bit is often said as if our stress is inherently petty & irrelevant. couldn't possibly be anything serious, right? glad you're finally being acknowledged properly ❤
I started hallucinating visually and thats when i realized it wasnt just anxiety anymore lmao. i became full blown disabled
Get your cortisol tested too! I just got diagnosed with Cushing’s and it’s often misdiagnosed as PCOS. It’s pretty rare and usually takes people years to get diagnosed since doctors don’t listen to women
not even kidding this podcast is what gives me any sense of normalcy and sanity. your humor and the way you talk is EXACTLY like me and the things u say is how my brain works like i love you so so much and i appreciate your content thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I appreciate how you take lyrics you’re passionate about and read them in your slam poetry voice, despite the different vibes of the different songs, you said THESE WORDS WILL BE HEARD !
lots of us are feeling exactly like you rn, from our oily itchy hair to imbalanced hormones we cant afford to fix. love you gorgeous
PCOS girly here.🙋🏻♀️ I somehow managed to get regular periods and clearer skin, buut curently Im struggling with thinning hair... any tips?
I love your sense of humor, during my darkest most depressed days you cheer me up. I love you. You are beautiful.♥️
When you addressed the insulin resistance and PCOS did your symptoms subside?
@@madelineohara8409yes!!!
The way that everytime she avoided the mic to scream something, I felt my stress melt away. Thank you for that sis 😂
I live in Oregon so its not sunny much except near end of spring and summer, so my therapist all year round makes me take it wnd its very helpful with my other psych meds
Vitamin deficiency can make mental illness way worse, same with hormone imbalance.
its acc crazy.
It’s so healing to see so many people appreciate and consume the ideas Brittany has bc they’re such beautiful takes with passion every time.
Whoa
Yeah :(
I literally think about this all the time.
I'm glad to know that we're all going through it
100%, at least it's all of us lol
Love love LOVE you speaking on the music and beautiful meanings to the lyrics. Such important topics spoken about in such a beautiful art 👏🏻👏🏻❤️

LEGIT SAME. 😭
Man its knowledge like this that anyone with a uterus should be taught/common knowledge, cause I cant imagine how many people experience the same thing you did and had no idea why after their procedure
you have no idea the relief that comes from you talking about the human experience and the fear of the way that humanity is progressing. ❤️ you
Okay the having ugly days thing is actually called the luteal phase and it comes during the time between ovulation and your next period it has to do with your hormones fluctuating. Just felt the need to share that, much love 💕
i’m in the trenches rn (finals week during my first semester of college) and it’s rlly comforting to know that we’re all going through it currently
My scalp was so flaky during my worst health times and my lips and mouth could NOT stay dry for a millisecond. It is so important to feed your body 😅
broski I love you, someone said you can't hate yourself to the point of loving you.
Any tips on where to start for practical places on where to start?
YESSS i love bag balm. its one of my favorite slugging items besides elizabeth arden 8 hr cream

Glad to see you back, queen 👸🏻 you always make my Tuesdays better.
The way we've already moved on to a different white boy of the month since this was filmed is both incredible and terrifying
you are so necessary in this period of time, thank you for keeping it real always
We also
tend to drop the g so it would sound like: wantin, goin, takin etc.
We arnt alone in this feeling, and our voices may be small but together they are loud, dont be silent in our upset and let us all be heard.
im not as articulate as Brittany or these song lyrics in writing these feelings as im just writing my thoughts into a youtube comment but THANK YOU for speaking about it
I’m in college atm and we’re are learning that malnutrition is the majority of the problem when it comes to irregular periods !
I need to take a class or something bc I need to be better, it’s so bad
I love how enraged she is by her own human experience
I love watching these podcasts on my tv bc my dogs always get very excited when they hear the howls and grunts
Did you take anything to help you? I took metformin and it did nothing😢
Same here! I just left a separate comment heh
I’ve been on birth control, metformin & spironolactone, and it’s worked fairly well. Unfortunately I’ve got some stubborn hirsutism that the spironolactone never really tackled, but my periods are considerably better when medicated phew
I hope everyone here can find something that works well for them ❤
I got diagnosed about 5 years ago.
THANK GOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD I COULDNT DO ANOTHER WEEK WITHOUT A NEW EP
dude you are literally so intelligent and interesting and relatable and REAL i love u sm
I love listening to her bc of how much she knows and her passion to explain how we all feel
I’d suggest speaking with your gyno about the possibility of PCOS. I got diagnosed about a decade ago and it was a huge *oh, okay* moment and everything clicked heh
Hope you start feeling better soon ❤
no bc ur so valid for midland. Literally was obsessed with drinking problem too 😭 still love it
I went to the grocery store while listening to this, and made sure to stock up on veggies and fruits for those extra nutrients. Winter ready has us losing the sense of needing anything but warmth and sleep
Also, Kingdom of Ash!! My heart got through all stages of grief again just hearing about it 😭❤️ love ya Brittany!

I love when she just rants about these topics cause people really need to be reminded and also gets people thinking and it’s just a refresher from the dumb shit people usually post 😭
Xx
ive been watching you since kombucha video and i have to say i absolutely love you. You are like the thoughts in my head that im too afraid to speak up 2 others ...thinking others would think im crazy or "weird". Life has become so judgmental and watching your podcasts are the best. Literally look forward to your videos, rewatching them all the time. You ARE the definition of girls' girl. You understand us, deeply and you're not afraid to speak about it or even laugh it off. We love you, through thick and thin!!
