@@RealWorldCarReviews my nissan micra from 2000 had the exact same thing. it went down after a while but when you started it up? idling at 1500 rpm :D i miss that car though, had it for 9 years. rust was the death of it sadly. would have never gotten rid of it. would have even installed some heated seats and whatnot. rip
I think the British definitely take good care of their vehicles, also the packages of the vehicles are higher there

I have a 2008 1.8 petrol auto. Mine also starts on high revs, so is this normal for Toyota.
Yes, it’s just the engine warming up. As long as it settles down after a few minutes it’s fine
