As a kid with no father (my father passed from cancer when I was very young), Kobe was a huge role model for me and I looked up to him in so many ways. I actually met him once at disney land when I was 13 (2008). He was walking through the park with his daughters Gianna and Natalia and everybody was surrounding him wanting autographs. I didn't have a pen for signature so I just gave him a high five. It was an amazing moment that I will never forget.

Popovich is such a great coach. He understands the deep loss this is for many players. So many of these guys probably didn't want to play any games tonight but did it for the game. Respect for the teams that gave a tribute to Kobe by taking a 24-second violation For Kobe. I heard that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said he will retire the number 24 in Dallas so no-one ever uses that number. I hope more owners will do that.

Kobe I love you. A part of me died today with you. You were the best for me to ever lace them up. You were the reason I developed a competitive drive. You taught me so many lessons about life much more than basketball. You were my inspiration, my motivation, to me a basketball GOD. The impact you had on the lives of everyone was astronomical. You will never be forgotten. I’d cry enough tears to fill the oceans and give back anything I have to bring you back. But God works in mysterious ways. Bless you and little Giana, you loved her so much and took her straight to heaven with you. Condolences to all the other lives lost as well. Just beyond tragic. To everyone, please pay tributes, show your gratitude, learn to be perfect fathers, husbands, competitors, go shoot 81 shots. The smile of Kobe’s lit up a room, his insane work ethic was absolutely legendary. There will be never another Kobe Bryant in this league. Taken away so young and so soon, it’s like God got greedy and needed Kobe for bigger plans in heaven. Kobe, the GOAT, just like his game that was flawless, his passing is one that has shaken the entire world and turned it upside down. I love you Kobe. I love you.

Demar’s from Compton, Kobe’s a folk hero in the LA area. You know he was hurting.
Even if you weren’t a fan of his, if you like basketball, this meant something. Kobe played for the marquee franchise for 2 decades and that made him polarizing.
