Thanks for the info! I am curious to know what website you used to see the “heat map” showing price per square foot. That looks like a useful tool if a person is preparing to relocate.
no mention of crime or lawlessness nor getting robbed in a bike lane, just comparing bike lanes that are never used except by homeless next to lake merritt. O town residents are so delusional that they are still in denial of everything they did to the city because its 1.fake 2.a rightwing conspiracy to make O town look bad 3. real estate agents wont say anything negative 4.hoaxland Voters that voted for politicians that further ruined oakland wont admit that O town is bad because they are responsible. This sums it all up. Oh and everything is always closed, over 500 businesses left in 4 years. Apparently the 'smartest' people on the planet that apparently live in the Bay area and silicon valley still cant tell the truth because of ego while 'red states' that are uneducated can tell the truth in 5 mins, oakland deserves it all
Disagree about bike friendliness. Honestly, I think Oaklands bike network is far more functional than Berkeley. My impression of riding in Berkeley is that while drivers cannot go quite as fast on most streets, they do drive in more frantic and anxious ways because they are distracted and in a rush to get places because it takes longer. That’s not the feeling I have in Oakland. Compare riding on major Oakland roads like Telegraph, MacArthur, Fruitvale, around the lake to major roads in Berkeley like San Pablo, Telegraph, shattuck, etc. it’s much more congested and people fly down Telegraph in Berkeley.
Partly with Telegraph is that the Oakland half separated the bike lines and cut the lanes whereas Berkeley hasn't. Oakland put it's bike infrastructure on the main streets first, whereas Berkeley put them on its side streets
This is a hard question to answer concisely. Whether or not they are considered "unsafe" will vary from person to person. There are definitely problems with crime in both cities, but they are also sensationalized on the internet and on the news. Unfortunately that is the case in many cities across the US right now.
Depends on your race and how much money you got. Just dont be an elderly person or you might get beaten to death robbed and the criminals let free due to the racistpsychotic virtue signaling polticians
commies dont rob you, the other will. But commies will let the people in control release the criminals cause they had 'a bad life' and you should feel bad for them.
Seriously? With its world-class weather, food options, and safe streets, Berkeley is one of the most livable cities in the world. Oakland, one of the dead-able cities in the world.
Berkeley has no food options, just overrated cheese board and a couple pasta spots. The MX food there is really terrible which is weird considering its california. All the food is MID in the bay, no cap either. They got like 10-20 good spots and thats it. everything else is mid that is double the price of the rest of california
Imagine living in any of these two cities that politicians destroyed, I feel bad for anyone who has to live there now. Destroyed once great city of Berkeley, O town was never
@@Eskapo12 All those restaurants have or are closing up shop to the great crime from these ethnicities, stop living in the past, people from O town suffer from cognitive dissonance and mental gymnastics

Thanks for watching! The website is TopHap
What website are you using to check the price per sq ft
Tophap. It has a lot of cool different maps you can look at.
Zach,
Can you please do a video on Albany, and other cities north of Berkeley.
Besides Albany, what cities are you interested in? I've been thinking about making a video about El Cerrito
El Cerrito is worth talking about. Richmond has so many neighborhoods it might be hard to do.
You didn’t mention crlme, which is a huge concern for making a decision about where one may want to live
It does not make sense to mention crime if you are a real estate agent trying to sell homes in these cities.

I love both cities. We have some more problems in Oakland, but it’s an amazing place to live.
I agree! Both cities are great, and I love living in Oakland.
Arent the areas both unsafe?

You are misinformed

depends on your race and how well you can play a game of mental gymnastics
There are nice places to live in the hills of Oakland and Berkeley but you will need to exercise caution with crime.
I just can’t understand why anyone would want to live in Oakland or Berkeley ?
It takes some amount of conscientiousness. Some might ask the same question about where you live.
@Robert-eg2oy You're a foreign troll with a new account created May 22, 2023. You can't even come to America.
Because some people are different than you.
Because why not
Living in Detroit.
One is full of crime, drugs, homeless, and gangs. The other is full of crime, drugs, homeless, and commies. Hard to choose.

@MustadMarine Your description is a m0r0nic and inaccurate one.

@@ee-il2nq yeah, I guess California cuisine wasn’t invented in Berkeley.

are you referring to sky rocketing COL or what? (not from the area)
Oakland is awesome, there’s a lake in the middle of it and there’s hiking in the redwoods. Not to mention great food from all ethnicities.

Love living in my hometown of Oakland. It’s no place for cowards, so it totally tracks that you don’t love it.
I've lived in Oakland for 15 years now and it's not destroyed.
Both are hellholes
Too many mayates in Oakland, and too many yupster manginas in Berkeley! It's definitely better living in the Dublin/Pleasanton/Livermore area.
