Great video and love your comment about how people are doing videos on TH-cam and complain about weights or aggression of any razor. I strongly believe any razor is a good razor to someone. Whether it’s because of budget, the texture of their hair and skin, styles and colors of the razors. I’m 43 and started de shaving when I was 20 yrs old because like u im Italian and I have sensitive skin coupled with thick coarse hair. Cartridge razors tore my neck up and would wait to shave for a week so I could let the ingrown hairs go away. Horrible. I started with one of those as seen on tv de razors and even tho mostly ever de shave channel would trash such a razor once my technic was down I got BBs shaves and no irritation or ingrown hairs. I have of coarse over the last 20+ years added to my collection and tried many blades out to hone in on my perfect comfort I look for . But as the saying goes “one man’s medicine is another man’s poison “

I used to use the cartridge razors the Mach 3 cartridges to be precise they are super expensive and I used to keep using the same blade over and over to get every last penny out of it. Which led to lots of redness and irritation usually then I switched the DE and never went back. I used to get weepers and tiny nicks on my neck but now I put the shaving Proraso directly onto a wet shaving brush and lather up directly onto my face I use the little extra and lather extra in the spot that got irritated sometimes and now I get no irritation each day I'm learning more. Also thanks to this channel I have improved my technique.

@@JRL22-Tango yea technique is definitely we’re it’s at. Like I put in my post I started with a cheap $19.99 as seen on tv de razor 20 + years ago and once I learned my technique I got BBs shaves with no irritation. Now I will also say when I first made the switch I was still stuck on using foam from a can to shave with which I learned was another big reason I used to get so much irritation and in grown hairs. After I had my technique down pat I started exploring into shave soaps and creams. My first was tobs sandalwood which till this day I still love their product a lot. In fact got me a tub of the royal forest just last month. But long story short using good soaps and creams greatly enhances your shave experience and comfort . I can use the famous R41 with a feather and with the proper angle and touch I get a nick free shave and super smooth glass like finish. But along with technique comes wisdom on properly matching the right blade with the right razor. Because of my thick coarse hair I tend to stick to the super sharp blades because the less strokes I have to make to get through the hair the less chances of irritation I get. But hey different strokes for different folks lol

    • @OhioShaves

My first shave with the AL Slant I was surprised by how much it feels like the Henson. I consider it one of my top razors especially for the price. However you kinda have to pay attention while shaving with it. It does nick more than my Henson or Twig. However If I couldn't have a Henson this would definitely be my first pick. A&E's Woods and Spice is awesome. If you get it wet and look at it hard it will make the best lather. That lather pops so fast it is almost creepy.
