- In this video I show several problems that the TFDi Design team still has to solve on the exterior, problems that probably need more time.
NOTE: I am not addressing systems simulation, for that we have real creators and pilots who are approaching the topic on TH-cam.
This is the version released today 1.0.1
You sure about the vent on the pylon? On other types the engines on each side are not a mirror imagine of each other so it’s possible to have the vent inboard on one side and outboard on the other.
indeed, all engines (i assume wing) are built that same on airliners. the tail engine would be different i assume.
Will it come to MSFS marketplace?
I purchased and installed the MD11 on P3Dv5.1 two days ago. First remarks and I think there will be many more. No pushback with Shift+P The wheels don't turn? No IRU alignment.
I expected better, but unfortunately not at the level of those that PMDG had done.

I am disappointed in this plane. Before it released, it seemed a little lower than PMDG level and looked good. Now it looks shitty, I will wait until SimPlaza gets it done.
Yes, Simplaza will provide it for a price aligned to its quality. For free.

For a first release to MSFS, it's a pretty ambitious model. There was a lot of commentary, some of it very bitter, about long development time and associated negativity toward TFDI "taking money for a product that may never be released." So it seems some intricate detail of the exterior and sound were bypassed to get the thing released. But that almighty FMS-EFB-Navigraph integration, which seems the be the core all-important necessity of these airliners, is there! The developer committed to continual improvement, I'm not concerned. I only wish that instead of following the PMDG/Fenix bandwagon someone would have done an original DC-10 or L-1011 and put all that intricate automatic navigation system programming effort into period-correct flight and failure modeling instead. I suppose that's hoping for too much. It's not a heavy, but maybe the upcoming 727... In the meantime I'm very happy to support this developer and the first release. Their MD-11 flies great, a superb feel. It is most certainly not "trash" or "a waste of money."

By all means, its a solid aircraft. But for someone who is expecting a ready-state aircraft, this will be slightly disappointing. There are a few features that are a "must" for me and that aircraft doesn't have. And I consider them basics, so they arent just a "nice to have".
And it has some bugs that are kinda annoying. But on the other side, there will be improvements. There will be patches etc so there is time to improve. But I see no rush in buying it (for anyone who hasn't)
It does not have some bugs, it has many bugs and the aircraft is barely flyable. PMDG MD11 was way better and a perfect aircraft even if it wasreleased nearly 20 years ago.
With the Fenix A320 and the PMDG 777, there is plenty to do until I can see some reviews on the release. I would like to get it, but if this is the current state, I would wait.

This must be in early stage. Cargo version wich you show here and PW engines dosnt come out before later this year. I have seen many new videos and it looks good.

For something priced so high, you'd think you'll be getting a quality model. This is hideous and very rushed. Thanks for saving my money!
Based on this video, I'm probably going to wait to purchase it. It also seems like you angered the CE elitists for being critical of a virtual aircraft that costs 70usd. Because it costs that much it should be treated as such. This should be on the level of the PMDG aircraft, based on this video it doesn't appear to be the case.
I'll probably buy the MD-80 or 777 or something else. But I'll see what other people are saying about it.
Edit 1: I know that tfdi wanted it to look 'worn' as the md-11 is an older aircraft which does explain some of the dirty and grimy textures. Also, I'm curious what OP's game settings were during filming.

Lmaooo no they are not, no spool up, sounds nothing like the real thing. Reversers are instant etc. They are shit and not worth $70
They hyped it up "collectors edition" and all, and I was waiting for something really up there with the best, but the price is the only thing up there!

Watching your video, I feel like 50% of what you showed is valid criticism. The other 50% you're essentially nitpicking small texture and modeling errors that are only noticeable if you select the drone camera and zoom in on it. I believe most of texture issues can be easily fixed with a high quality 3rd party livery, which will certainly appear with the paintkit now available.
I can't speak for others and I understand that there are people who are very picky about texture and modeling, but I spend more time in the cockpit than admiring the beauty of the aircraft from the outside, and unless the exterior model and textures are a complete rubbish and unrealistic, that shouldn't bother me.
As you said in the video, there's nothing wrong in the cockpit, so it's very good for me.

I think it's a bit of a lack of attention on the part of TFDi towards the consumer, or a lack of care, especially if we consider their excellent 717, which for me was better worked on even though it was for an old simulator. I feel that the company is in need of making money at the moment and will make a launch making as many cuts as possible in more hours of development, perhaps due to the long path they have taken so far, and as the community only praises them, no There is a reason to continue at the moment, so they launched it anyway, and another 2 months would fix all of this. I joined the simulation in the 2004 version and because it is about simulating for me this is closely linked to immersion, for me total immersion happens when it is confused with the real, for this I invest in hardware and use state-of-the-art simulators, but There's no point if developers start to regress with community support, if we don't charge soon we'll go back to having aircraft without a cabin, when we should be in the era of being able to leave the airport through the finger and actually be able to sit in the captain's chair, be able to get off of the aircraft doing a walkaround and everything, soon we will be able to see passengers boarding and sitting in their seats from what I can see of the GSX so if we can do all this, why should we settle for having less and less?!. I'm not looking for a barbie dresser in MD-11, but when I compare this product like, for example, Level-D 767 in simulation level and free products like FBW and others, I feel like I'm paying to settle for whatever they want me deliver, even more sold as pre-sale as it was. This version of MSFS has a wonderful look, it deserves more than what TFDi is delivering. Imagine if a developer creates a scenery without an interior and considering the hours worked and everything else, he ends up making more profit than the one who charged a little more, but did the entire interior and also did the surroundings of the scenery to make the approach more realistic and beautiful. , I believe that over time the devs. they will start making scenery without interiors with low quality textures again and pass the work on to the community if they want to improve the textures themselves, since they are companies aiming for profit and demand dictates the market, the same goes for a aircraft developer. This type of neglect already happens in the games industry, with fewer and fewer developers worrying about optimizing games or fixing bugs before launch, as everyone ends up buying pre-sales or doing a "launch" and financed by the community for the next few years, then they spend months developing the game how they want and fixing what they want. ✈I finally managed to access the website now and installed MD-11 again. Now I can say, the version currently released is exactly the one in video 1.0.1
I will delete this channel after a week, after all the intention was never to continue. I thank everyone for the comments and I'm sorry if I hurt some people's feelings, I never wanted to denigrate the image of TFDi if anyone is going to do that, it will be them, I just pointed out what I think should be improved before the launch, because now they can fix it if they want , or if the community pushes too hard. This video just confirms what I personally think about TFDi: a bunch of amateurs. Selling this sh.t for 70$ is, I'm sorry to say it, a lack of respect for all the simmers community.

Thats the second time you take an outdated model to lure people into your weird crusade against TFDI, let the alone the 3d model, any words about the systems, flight model and stuff like this ? Friend, I have no intention of creating an msfs channel, I'm just here to show people what the MD-11 looks like before they buy it and also to leave my opinion on what I think should be improved. The objective of my video is to explore the external and visual model, I am not addressing systems, for that I would make another video if that were the case and there are already other videos on TH-cam on the topic. I don't hate TFDi, quite the opposite, for this reason, I was one of the first 50 to purchase the collector's edition, and I don't regret it.. I just want them to create the best MD-11 possible in every aspect.
Il maddog avrà si dei difetti a livello di texture, ma non ha pezzi di porte che escono dalla fusoliera, inoltre nel maddog funziona tutto: il radar meteo, il test per l’ossigeno, le failures…
Qui ci sono invece degli errori grossolani, le texture dei rivetti messi a caso (indice che l’uv mapping è stato fatto male o di fretta) in un prodotto pubblicizzato come di alta qualità, a 70$ è semplicemente inaccettabile e i soldi miei non li vedono neanche col binocolo finché non sistemano questi errori e creano un prodotto decente.
Il punto è che troppe volte ormai si vedono prodotti non finiti, fatti male e pieni di bug uscire sul mercato pubblicizzati come delle meraviglie, venduti a peso d’oro (il maddog non è escluso, cosa quasi 100$!)
che non valgono i soldi che vengono pagati, ma siccome la comunità e l’utenza di msfs è grandissima, vengono lanciati comunque, tanto lo scemo di turno che li compra lo trovano sempre.
Tutto questo non fa bene alla comunità di msfs, al marketplace e alle software house: prima o poi la gente si stufa, la freghi la prima volta, la seconda il prodotto che tu vendi a 4 volte il prezzo che vale, se lo scarica craccato.

Not to be funny but attacking this guy for showcasing a products issues is petty. Since this is a product that is worth 70 dollars, then it should be treated like a 70 dollar product.
The MD11 by TDFI worth 70 dollars is a scam. The 77W by PMDG for 77 dollars, only 7 dollars more is a steal. The TDFI team really have cheapened out here on the product which has a lot to desire. It's a shame that they spent quite a lot of time developing for this and creating a massive aura of hype for this aircraft only to let down the community and people who have purchased this. There is more detail and time spent of the exterior model and sounds on a latinVFR product for 25-35 dollars than this.
Please don't be biased and attack the guy in the video. Instead do your research and if you really want to, waste your money on the aircraft.

The question is: Is the TFDI MD-11 better than the slightly cheaper Sky Simulations md-11? I know that tfdi wanted it to look 'worn' as the md-11 is an older aircraft which does explain some of the dirty and grimy textures. Also, I'm curious what OP's game settings were. To be honest.. he needs to do better research.
Nothing in this video is present in the release version. I got both cargo and passenger, and all textures/graphics are fixed.

Consider seeing reviews from other people, my friend, the systems simulation part is very interesting, I just think that so far they have left something to be desired in terms of appearance as I showed and in some details at the moment it seems that it was completely designed for P3D in my opinion. But let's see if a miracle happens today and everything changes.

*Low quality texture.
*Beacon light without texture.
*General sound issues.
*Engines with poor sound mixing.
*Texture bug.
*Lack of textures consistent with reality in several points.
*Leaked lighting.
*Pylon mirrored apparently.
*Precarious modeling in some points.
*Lack of details.
*Strange-looking rivets.
*Door problems.
*3D objects conflicts in mechanical parts.
*Floating mechanical parts.

You got better quality with FSX freeware back in the day than this. Buyers of this are going to be still seething with parting with 70 buck's for week's on end. I never understand why? dev's release half finished projects, full of bug's, and poor quality, with an attitude.... "Oh, we will fix that in the next update". It's the same with the PMDG 777, full of bug's, look's half decent, but what's the point when it's only flyable as a brick. But back to this so called TFDi MD-11 thing'y, I take it that the beta testers for this got their guide dog's to report back to TFDi. They should have taken more time to get it right, made it look and perform right, and released it for MSFS 2024. Alot of hype, for such little freeware quality.

The engine modeling is not good. Packs and bleed demand have no effect on n1, egt, any of it. Not to mention look at oil temp on startup or shutdown. Goes to 67 then drops immediately on stop. Or worse spikes on start.
It’s better than what sky simulations released that’s just painful
