Also FAFSA. And grants. And money from loved ones, if they're able to help.
Also also, you start saving for a kids college fund when they're young. You don't drop thousands of dollars into a piggy bank, you start setting aside...preferably before they're even born, to get the most out of it. And college fund accounts I believe accumulate interest too. So it's not even a matter of being rich, it's a matter of if your parents thought of it.

I worked for a fairly large trucking company. I met the actual owner/president of the company. Twice. I didn't cry in awe or joy. I offered him a beer and directed him to the crawfish platters. Then I watched him get smashed and do the Electric Slide and Cupid Shuffle. It was like...he was just a guy. And he actually did start his own business. He was/is a successful entrepreneur.
All that to say: I can't imagine crying in joy or awe over meeting someone high up in an MLM.

One of the owners who showed up frequently joined the groupchat and worked with us once a week. He also let me interview him for my senior project. My sister is a lawyer. I have zero interest in that and do not envy her life in any way. However, the fact that her life experiences differ so greatly from mine, is exactly why I ask her for advice or for her opinion on certain things. There are so many people that are successful and that I would listen to, and yet I would never want their life. Who came up with this "if you wouldn't trade lives with them don't listen to them" thing, its so ridiculous and disrespectful.

But I am also a successful person who graduated college, has met her career goals, and I am both happy and empathetic. But I am also a DAMN strong person who graduated from college while blind and before learning Braille, was able to get transplants, earned my teaching credential, take good care of my eyes and learned how to use my white cane when traveling without contacts, make sure I take my medication and attend therapy for my bipolar. Random aside, but I'm really glad you bring up how dangerous it is for the huns (or anyone, really) to be filming/recording/posting on their phones while driving. Growing up in LA, I'd see plenty of that and worse (still see plenty of it) and it legit makes me so angry and scared. I knew a kid who literally DIED right up the street from where I lived because the driver who hit him was texting (he was on his bike). The memorial where he died is still there. This was all just before my senior year of hs (he would've been a junior). He died and I KNOW the woman who hit him felt truly horrible (she tried to talk to guy's family and friends and tried to apologize... I'm sure you can imagine it didn't go well). Not only are you putting your life and others lives at risk if your rambling about your MLM on social media, but if, God forbid you DO hit and injure/cost someone their life, you'll carry that weight. And I don't think your shampoo or make up or whatever is going to assuage thar guilt. Put the phone down.

Everything she is saying is so manipulative; the reason she wasn’t pushing the products from her MLM is because half of the supplements they sell or try and sell are illegal to sell in the UK. I feel like if you were truly at whatever job it is you’re doing to change lives, you wouldn’t use the word powerful in relation to the way people make you feel, you would use terms like “comforting” “inspiring” “motivating.” People crying over your place in their life shouldn’t make you feel “powerful.” That’s concerning af.

The way MLMs work, huns tend to become increasingly isolated from those who are in the BUsiNeS so most definitely, they don't get call out on their behavior in real life. And this is deliberate and uplines tell their "teams" to cut "negative" people out of their life.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but as a childhood trauma survivor, I fully agree with what you say about using trauma stories to manipulate people. You're not invalidating anyone's experience - you're pointing out that they're being toxic. I was emotionally abused by my parent, who also had a crappy childhood of their own, and they LOVE throwing pity parties for themselves about it. Do I have empathy for their pain? Yes. But that doesn't make the abuse THEY perpetrate better. In fact, it almost makes it worse - they know how bad it can be, but instead of doing work to heal, they passed the pain down to the next generation. Same thing with the MLM hon. She's meeting manipulated (and maybe retraumatized) by the company, which sucks, but she's trying to do the same thing to others, which is FAR from okay.

I owned an actual business, I just graduated college to start my actual grooming business run by me, and oh my lanta remember him going on and on with all his "mentor's" business advice. You should undercut your competitors! When someone calls you, make sure you sound super busy and rustle papers around so they get the impression that you're super busy. And always make it out like you can do them a favor and squeeze them in. And guess who's business lasted and which didn't 😂

If you sound too busy for me I'll go find someone with time for me. I value being able to take my time and be personable with people providing me services, if someone seems busy I know I can find someone who isn't. My favourite restaurant has poor food and prices, but the staff is quick and beyond friendly. There is a cheaper bar with almost the exact same menu except a GRILLED CHEESE MADE OF TWO PIZZA SLICES AND MY FAVOURITE SOUP. But I'll never go because at my favourite place I can sit and chat and get quick service. I will pay more for a worse product if I don't feel like a burden.

Yes yes yes! Idk how many times I've witness a mom look up from her phone after watching she scrolled for 10 min at a play ground just to "act cool" yet have the most frantic eyes when they couldnt spot their kid
..luckily for them there's super anxious moms like me who look out for everyone and all the kids and I kept an eye out for them for her because I knew she wouldn't notice if they were abducted! Same thing at the lake...I was swimming WITH my kids to make sure they were safe meanwhile a 3 year old ran in, without a life jacket and her mom didnt notice because she was too busy scrolling and texting. By the time the girl was neck deep and I realized she cant swim + no one even noticed (it took all but 10 seconds) I had my 3 girls in their life jackets hold onto a swimming noodle that I was dragging with me as I swooped that poor child out of the water with my other hand. Put away your phones if you're with your children please!

Dray is someone who's having a hard time with her gross behavior called out so she's definitely having to up her game (by game i mean yelling and screaming and swearing at her "team" and potentials) - i get mean girl vibes from her because she and a few ladies on her team did a live one night and made fun of someone who shared her story about how she lost 5k while in an MLM - it was horrific - so now she's attempting to gain back her image - she got super upset and angry because Isabella Lanter, CC Suarez and Deanna Mimms called her gross behavior out and now she's on the watch list like boss lee- Dray is similar to boss lee in thinking she's a celebrity and is the greatest of all time - in actuality they too are victims however they are quite aware of what they're doing to others - it's a sad circle with the MLMs

there is always an occurring theme, specifically the contrast between unschooling children & many mlm companies, their core reasonings to back up why what theyre doing is good is always using out dated stereotypes that people have been taught are bad.
example :: unschooling children = always sat at desks and no time to enjoy and learn what they’re interested in
    - mlm companies = never at home, always on a schedule and no time for kids plus barely no choice to earn more pay besides a little payrise / bonus

This happens 4 times this year. That's an extra 4 weeks of pay you didn't budget for so it’s extra income. Additionally you get bonuses. I got a a 6 month bonus of $1200 and I work in social services. I'm also expecting one near Christmas.
