1.) The most bitter sweet love story maybe ever
2.) The music and how it infuses more meaning and emotion to the film
3.) The Wes Anderson style of intricate detail and exquisite use of the camera

The Salinger homage. The flawless tone. The hilarity within deep, adult pain.

3 reasons: the Music. The flawed characters. The "Wes Anderson/Owen Wilson Quirk" (seriously, these two need to write MORE.)

Still Anderson's best, most fully realized film. Although Fantastic Mr. Fox gives it a contest.

What a monumentally talented cast. But, if I had to pick one, it's Gwenyth Paltrow. She's f*****g brilliant!!

That guy who plays the dad is pretty good looking for his age. Shame about Margo though.

The only movie I am looking forward to is The Grand Budapest Hotel. Wes Anderson's last few movies ( Moonrise Kingdom and Darjeeling Limited) were so so and I am always hopeful he's got another Tanenbaum or even a Rushmore waiting to be unvailed. I love his cinematic sense with the highly composed master shots which many modern directors have abandoned for annoying constant editing, but at the center of his films there is no much sustance---sadly even the good ones feel very hollow, like an chocolate Easter bunny. He tends to create characters that are too quirky for their own good. Moonrise Kingdom was chock full of them with the exception of the two main kids. I enjoyed their story and their relationship (even when it got uncomfortably creepy at times), but the rest of the characters were flat and one dimensional. I skipped Mr. Fox. I did enjoy Darjeeling Limited and the brothers reuniting for this trip across India. When I bought the soundtrack (the best thing about many Wes Anderson films) I had that in my Sony discman for a week solid. I loved the mixture of the Indian music and The Kinks. I keep a good though for The Grand Budapest Hotel---hopefully a return to form. Not that many cinematic stylists out there nowadays.

Maybe sometime when I am in the right mood. It played at the theater where I work but felt no overwhelming urge to see it. After watching substantial chunks of Hotel Budapest my initial enthusiasm was diminished. There was beautifully photographed scene on s small carosel. The dialogue was insipid but it was pretty to look at.

I tried watching it but it is Wes Anderson at his most annoyingly and cloyingly quirky. The CGI fish didn't help either...but it's nice to see Bud Cort still working.

The thing that makes wes anderson such a creative director is not only his artist style or uniqe story telling ability, but his ability to transformactor into different charectors. That was the point to make Bill different than we have seen before. And stop hating on these videos your a 10 year old kid you wouldnt understand the genius of anderson.
