An Orange Diablo GT is probably the only car I don't fit in that I still really want to own.

I don't remember the magazine, but I will never forget the cover, it was a purple diablo roadster and the headline read "the devil goes topless" that magazine has a poster in the center I removed and had that hung in my wall until I left the house. I would love to get that car someday and find a copy of the magazine to keep with the car.

Saw a red Diablo driving on a 28 degree night here in NJ right after new years… I was in shock of how beautiful it is

I like the Harry’s Garage episode where he takes an early Diablo out, and how he shows and explains why the owner has it in his stable. It’s basically a car that will scare the sh!t out of the driver at 7/10ths of capability. Apparently the owner likes that. I can think of many things much worse for one’s health to scare themselves with, providing it does not get wrapped around a tree
I loved this episode of Harry’s and have wanted an early Diablo ever since. What john doesn’t mention is by countach standards the early Diablo is much more livable, even if it got better as the years progressed.

I remember being 10 years old and seeing an orange metallic Diablo SV in downtown Chicago near Michigan Ave. in the summer… Sun sparkling over the paint as my friends and I sat in awe, frantically rolling the windows down in the back seats of my dad’s Suburban as it drove past in the nearest oncoming lane. I’m 34 now, and while not the biggest lambo fan, “Countach”, do I remember those 10 seconds over two decades ago and what they did for my love of cars since.
2001 Orange (Arancio Atlas) Diablo 6.0 = the car that started it all for my love of Lambo when I was 11 years old 🧡
I saw this exact car at the Chicago auto show in 2001. Forever cemented arancio atlas as my favorite lambo color of all time.

When I was a deckhand on a yacht, our boss had a Diablo GT. He absolutely hated that car. He had a Countach, an F40, a DB5 and a McLaren MP4-12C...he drove a Hyundai Genesis instead. It was his favorite car. Special events he pulled out the special cars, but besides his BMW M6, he drove that Genesis everywhere and spent so much money on upgrades.
Comfort, practically, and reliability.
Lamborghini really established what a special car was for the last 50 years starting with the Miura. Every new model, every special edition is a work of engineering art.
The Diablo is one of the 5 best bedroom poster supercars of all time.
That thing is magic.
They are all incredible but I am partial to the VT coupe. Pre and post facelift.

The funny thing is that as I age, I want cars that are easy to drive. Younger me wanted to fight with the car to feel alive.
Back when need for speed hot pursuit 2010 came out, I still think of the one mission that starts off with “In pursuit of a Yellow Lamborghini” and it’s that Yellow Diablo SV and it it was actually a tougher interception mission. Still a fan, of the car to this day. So much so, I have a poster of a silver Diablo on my way.
The sv will always be my favorite but I may settle for a 6.0 when I can get one. I’ve sat in mike tysons vt roadster. Super cool car. The seats are very stretched out from big mike
Got to admire John’s knowledge of the Lamborghini Diablo, which is also my favorite Lamborghini model of all times 😍. John is such a fountain of Lamborghini history…..now if we can only get him to properly pronounce “Gallardo” 🤔….😉
I was 10, walking on a sidewalk, approaching the ticket booth to a movie theater to see "The Ghost and the Darkness". Approaching head on, a red Diablo, slowly pulling up to the front of the theater. It had limo tint. This is the first time I saw a Lamborghini and it became my favorite car. Has been ever since. Remember playing it on Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit? Good ol' days.

I swear John Temerian has the exact same taste in cars that I have and if I ever won the powerball I'd probably buy most of his inventory since they're all my favorite cars. He even had the fuchsia Calloway Sledgehammer Speedster and Vector cars I loved so much but most people never heard of. Definitely a passionate guy that really knows his stuff especially with lamborghini

My all time favorite is also the SE30 that would the thebone I'd own and drive a few times a year. But a titanium diablo roadster SV that I'd drive the hell out of as often as possible

Visually I’d rank the GT or the open light roadsters as peak. I saw a roadster with the SV package I don’t know if they were sold like that but it looked pretty badass. With closed lights they look too sedate like a Espirit or a Japanese car. If they put a pop up above the normal light like the countach it would be perfect.
No mention of the Diablo VTTT? Probably one of the rarest versions

I remember back in the mid 90s maybe 95 or 96? either road and track or car and driver did an article about a Diablo VTTT (they called it Viscous Traction Twin Turbo). I can't find much about them, were they a custom model based on a VT or was it a limited production run?
I still love when super car companies build a cheaper version of their car by stripping out a ton of features and then sell it for more money by saying is the race version lol

DIablo was my poster car, and ive been fortunate enough to ride in a special edition one.
Considering the first game i ever play was Need for Speed : Hot Persuit 3 i will always dream about a yellow diablo with black letters.
GT looks gorgeous. Plus light covers are made by Nissan. Used in 300ZXs too.

What about the GT1 and GTR?
If I win the lottery could you make this for me? Diablo SE30, Purple, updated GT/6.0 dashboard, electric steering, modernized Olin strut system, front lift system, shave an inch off bottom of the front splitter, updated LED front and rear lights.
Then I would buy a Bugatti EB110 SuperSport. Pay Bugatti $5 MIL and give it back to gut it and make it Pearl White with Bugatti Blue leather interior, electric car with 600 miles of range and a new modern dash, new interior, better seats, electric steering. Call it an EB110E for electric.
A purple SE30..... HNNNNG. But, but, a GT, with Audi's hand print on it, is quite mega, and the roof scoop... HUUUUUNNNG.

Alpine or Momo edition my friend. You get the 99 style, last year of the roadster and numbered by lamborghini to 12 each which was the lowest special edition numbered car from Lamborghini

Missing the Diablo GTR.
Back when I was looking, drove a coupe.....wasn't real impressed, small inside, super hard to see out of.....but let me tell you, a beautiful Diablo Roadster with 30,000 feet of headroom, a gated MT, and a V-12 inches from your ears just can't be beat for sub-$500k

The GT1 Stradale is my favorite diablo but the one I would want to own is either a 6.0 or an se30, great vid!
The one with 665 HP made by SAT Signs Advance Technology from France but never was raced! It was planned to enter on the Le Mans 24 Hours season 1996 to 1998 but until Audi bought Lamborghini in 1998 they cancelled the plan.

You are a talking about the Yellow GT1. It was not even the GT or VT6.0 version. It was a 1995 VT. If they will enter the GT1 I am sure it will be modified to have up to 900 HP depending on the race car regulations during the GT1 days in Le Mans. Search it here, I watched the Diablo GT1, one youtuber made a video about it visiting the real super car turned into a race car. Until this day it is resting in the garage of SAT in France.

On the outside, the SE30 differed from other Diablo models with a revised front fascia featuring straked brake cooling ducts and a deeper spoiler, while the rear cooling ducts were changed to a vertical body-colored design. The raging bull emblem was moved from the front of the luggage lid to the nose panel of the car between the front indicators. The engine lid had slats covering the narrow rear window, while a larger spoiler was installed as standard equipment. The single rear fog lamp and rear backup lamp, which had been on either side of the rear grille, were moved into the bumper…

SE30 is the best of all Diablos period, is peak Lamborghini rly, maybe only Miura is better, thou i m not big fan of it. Any Diablo that even comes somewhat close is the GT, which rly i didn't know it was this rare b4 watching this video.

Only taking design into account my personal preference would be: Diablo SE30, 93 VT, 6.0 VT, SV, Roadster, 90 Diablo, GT. Sorry GT may look brutal but I don't think is that beautiful or sleak as the others specially the rear end.
They are cool, I wish I was a fan. Not a big fan of the look.

I wouldn't refer to them as four-wheel drive, I would refer to them as all-wheel drive.
Can you explain why you say that? And if not what would you call 4wd an Audi?
@GG Jb Typically, in California, we refer to pickup trucks that drive all four wheels as having four wheel drive or as a 4x4 or as a being a four-wheeler. To distinguish, a car is all wheel drive. For example, if someone mentions they have a four-wheel drive ( and you haven't seen the vehicle), most people will be thinking truck not car. It's how I make the distinction.
VERY VERY VERY NICLY TOLD = if I could afford any of these cars I would absolutely buy/ talk to you = JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA = but absolutely love the black / very meniccing
