If I cared how it "looked" i would play sitting down, with my right leg crossed over, my right shoulder and elbow way up in the air and my hips and spine completely twisted in an uncomfortable and un-ergonomic position. Picado is a different sound: staccato (with each note sharply detached or separated from the others), but I dont think many could ever do picado at that velocity. When I cared about impressing Flamenco afficionados, I agonized over my picado technique and had to work on it all the time, everyday just for maintenance. It hit a speed wall and never got any faster. Now I can go as fast as I want, to really serve the music, not serve a few Flamenco purists. I dont care how it looks, but with 'alternail' I can be a lot more musical, and thats the bottom line.

I started learning Flamenco techniques the day I saw one of your videos, I'am a huge fan of FlaMetal as almost every metalhead of my generation. That Malagueña of yours (that would blow any afficionado's mind) is just outstandingly authentic. So obviously I'am not here to creticise your choices on what technique you use instead of Picado which is , as you said, limited not only in terms of speed and I'am perfectly aware that how it looks is the last of your worries in the process of seeking how to transmit your message Auditively, The thechnique you devloped and how you put it at the service of what you want to express through your music is just AMAZING. thank you for your generosity Huge respect for the virtuoso from Tunisia.
